Добавлен 27 апр 2020
The Weathered Rails is a documentation series producing detailed videos of railroad operations in the Northeast of the United States and Canada. The most common videos documented contain footage of the Housatonic Railroad Company, CSX, and Pan Am Southern. Such videos cover road and yard operations, switching, Maintenance of Way, and the changes that are known to happen over time.

Weathered Rails 2023 "Thats Why I Love Dirt Roads"
As we reach the end of another year, we recap the trains we've seen in various places plus the big changes that occured throughout the year. Using the song "Thats Why i Love Dirt Roads." It combines the regular train operations and being out in the Country. Somewhere we always love to be.
Music:
"Thats why I Love Dirt Roads"
Granger Smith
I do not own this music and is being used in a demonetized manner

In ny every railroad signals have been removed from Beacon to Brewster (close to the broader of ct)
It would be nice to see the train on the maybrook line in ny after I saw some videos that were posted, and the last video seeing conrail on the maybrook line was back in 2012, but official someone recorded back around the 1980s- early 1990s
That trailing unit was pretty interesting. Tryclops cab on a newer GE style body
That trailing unit was pretty interesting. Tryclops cab on a newer GE style body
@@BMMEC6000 they’re Canadian cabs. Four windows instead of 3 like the tryclops. Those units were with them
@@WeatheredRails sorry. I tried to sound fancy by saying tryclops when it actually has 4 windows.
@@BMMEC6000 yeah, the two look similar but have different specs
@@WeatheredRails Interesting. I’ve just never seen one on a GE style unit
Great videos. I just found your channel. i'm enjoying the videos. :)
Awesome, Rebuilds are CM44ACs!
I was a fireman on many freights to Maybrook from Ceder Hill before the caught in fire in 1974. I also owned and operated regular freights from Ceder Hill to Selkirk. That was once a well-maintained 40+ MPH track that was that was a pleasure to handle 150 car or more trains over. Unfortunately, there's not much left of it.
I work for Railworks and put the ties and we also laid all the new rail since 2019 it was a 4 or 5 phase program so we did sections over a few years i remember this spot
❤ this Where’s it at?
This was Altoona, PA two years ago.
@@WeatheredRails sweet
Beautiful job; Ryan
Super rare catch
😅😅
Cum bum
Great video and great chase! Will NS not use this line anymore once Voorheesville connection is completed?
Thanks, only the intermodals are going on the Voorheesville connection according to the deal between CSX, and NS. Manifest traffic will not be affected.
Nice catch!
Love those CN locomotives
Wow Beautiful
I know that voice at 2:15. Thats Dekon Boomer 😂😂😂
Vermont has short-line and regional railroading at its best. There's not a lot of action, but it is still good trainspotting.... when you can find them.
beautiful ex-D&H paint scheme
Indeed it is
it would be good if CT could increase the role of rail, for passenger and cargo purposes, and also if possible attract rail business like manufacturing, maintenance, administration, marketing, executive, etc.
Hope you have a blessed Easter! Great video and Hallelujah!
Happy Easter
Magnificent 🎉🎉❤❤
What is Oak Ridge?
A waste and recycling facility in Danbury, CT.
Lived in southwestern ct all of my life near a part of the maybrook line .l sure do miss those days years ago when big freights used to run on the maybrook line.I loved to stay awake at night and listen to those trains.
Yes, it was a nice little treat for buff's in western CT. Unfortunately nothing lasts forever. Could the line come bacl? possibly. Will it? Most likely not.
few weeks ago i was up in danbury seeing if anything had moved on the maybrook side and instead see a bunch of the crossings starting to be removed downtown, not sure if they being upgraded or straight up pulled since trains dont really go that way anymore.
The crossing signals got removed because drivers in Danbury keep hitting them.
that was my second thought looking at each spot that got pulled, no trains coming yet signals still getting hit.
What is Oak Ridge?
Great capture!!!! I’m there tomorrow
Nice
Now that they've sent something down the Maybrook is there expected to be more runs on the remaining trackage?
I believe there might be a few more transformers coming. But that’s about it. I have no idea when they’re suppose to come
Awesome Ryan! Keep it up bud!
I saw this train on this mornings log Wish you would have alerted me I would have joined you
I gotta be honest, I had no idea he was coming until Dave told me when he was 10 miles away.
@@WeatheredRails I wish there was some way I could get on “Dave’s “ mailing list The logs in Oak Island and Fairport don’t work for me because they are not updated real time
Great Catch 28X on the NYS&W Railroad for the Return trip to Ridgefield Park to see other Routes in New Jersey in Bergen County
How do you figure out when a freight movement will happen? I would really like to see a freight train that is in CT
Nice. A shortie for a short. Thanks.
Good catch ryan!
Thank you Tim!
Sweet!!!!!! 40 years after Guilford buttf--ed the D&H
Making a world of what’s left
Were you there today?
No that was last month

Fantastic video ^^
I’ve always wondered what would happen if metro north for some reason sent a fan train to Canaan, would people be totally surprised or happy with the extremely rare trip. If did do that I’d hope 228 goes all the way up, sadly don’t think that will ever happen since Canaan does not have a yard
Technically Canaan is a yard. MP 48 and 50 are the yard limits. But either way, that’s a major pipe dream
