there may have been small moments where the drummer was ever so slightly off, but he sounded fine the moment before Kris went off lmao. no reason to assault your bandmate on stage, drunken or not.

Just went and saw The Ataris last night at a free local show. They played this, and i was on eggshells for the end LOL. It was actually really good and they did a different ending.

ok so the drummer went off beat like twice or more, but not worthy of such violent reaction.

Just found this through Spotify's discover weekly and just gotta say I absolutely love the tune, just had to hear it live! Love it!

The guitars sounded worse than the drums

Most people cant notice it, but the drummer is dragging A LOT by any professional standard. This was a band that went gold a few years prior, so its understandable that Kris would be upset at the degrading performance. With that said, Kris was vaguely known to have an issue with PCP or angel dust... Not sure exactly what drug, but it has been said before even referenced by Kris himself in the lyrics of their 2007 album. I find it very possible that he may have been out of control due to drugs which may have led to his overreaction. Im not excusing his actions. With or without drugs, there is no excuse for the assult. He is responsible either way and should not have assaulted the drummer. But it is also important to know that Kris may not have been able to control his drugs. Which makes him no better than a wasted drummer. I will always admire him for his work, but its very very low of him to (possibly) let drugs affect how he treats his band.

I told a pop punk nerd kid at 7-Eleven the Atari's suck in 1999 when I saw the band patch in his shorts. He got super offended. I said the Atari's suck! And they are not punk.

The mark of a true musician is the ability to handle petty live mistakes and move on like nothing happened. Most of the time, the crowd will be none the wiser.

NO…the fills sound like shit. the drumming overall is belligerently sloppy, slouchy and no passion in them. there’s a few moments where he saves himself and sounds decent. will say though that reaction was fucking uncalled for, even though it’s hilarious without context. singer was definitely pouring his heart into the performance and the drums sound like they’re just trying to get through the show and from someone that has a lot of passion in music myself i totally get the frustration but not the reaction completely.

I'm glad I grew out of this band as a teen, used to love them. Saw them once at birch hill and even met the singer so I can tell him that my uncle enjoyed their cover of I remember you by skid row. My uncle Dave is the guitarist in skid row so I was excited to tell him. Extremely cool guy and he was so happy that my uncle heard their cover and enjoyed it. But that was when I was 16, I'm 35 now and seeing this, what a fucking asshole he turned out to be. Lol

Unpopular opinion but I feel like the drummer kinda played himself. That dude just wrecked your whole set, and told the audience you're trash and you do NOTHING?! NOTHING?! And to make matters worse it was undeserved. Dude come on. Stand up for yourself.

drummer had quite a few flubs imo. i would have destroyed his kit.

I think the singer realized he was in a shit band and made an excuse.

The drummer is not tight at all! Very intermediate shit, but the whole band honestly sounds like shit

4:39 to 4:43 is supposed to be a 2-bar phrase, but the drummer slightly messes up the fill and comes in on the next bar a bit late. there were a FEW tempo issues throughout the performance but nothing to warrant the guy flipping out like that. seems like this is about more than just this.

It honestly seemed like he got upset during a drum fill that he couldn’t follow because HE sucks. The drummer was on time and totally fine. Everyone else in the band was still on beat with the drummer. There was no “fail” except for him. From watching the whole thing it felt like the vocalist got upset that the drummer was doing something too “flashy” that was taking away from his one-chord outro.
