Complimenti per questa comparazione. Come suono, decisamente quello caldo, da vero basso, della Harley Benton, quest'ultima non è la più bella, ma, per questo, è la più simpatica. Come acquisto, beh, non ho i soldi necessari per poter avere una chitarra costosa, ma, visto come si è comportata questa HB, comprerei una HB di qualità un po' superiore, e con gli stessi soldi che occorrerebbero per una qualsiasi chitarra di questa prova, comprerei anche un buon amplificatore. Ottima recensione, continua così.

Neither one of these basses sound bad. To be honest, to change or improve the tone requires an EQ pedal. Playing in a live band no one can pick up subtle nuances they care more about how the bass lines fit in the groove. What matters to me is playing a bass that's light, has the right gauge strings, quality pick up smooth feet job and neck and of course a sexy colour. Vintage yellow brown sunburst, butterscotch yellow with maple neck and black pick guard or burgundy with rosewood neck black pick guard

We’ve seen hundreds of comparison videos of low cost instruments v Fender. Sure on a one off test, low cost instruments can sound just as good. But for through life costs, residual values, maintenance, playability and consistent delivery gig to gig, for me Fenders or other similarly priced instruments like MusicMan, Mike Lull or Sadowsky will win out in the long run 😎

Great video and very helpful! It's a tie for me between Sire and Fender but still not enough to justify 4x or 12x the price respectively compared to the HB which is very good and to me sounds better than the Squier (also 4x it's price!).

Ibanez produces far more mids, Dingwall more low and very high tones... First I thought Ibanez all the way, now I'm not so sure anymore..

So glad that I bought the Harley Benton. I was surprised that it was better than the Sire and the Squier.

Nice performance: proof this is going to be a must-have instrument for many bassists. I use the same Labella strings on mine.

Moin. Ich bin echt am überlegen mir den MIJ zu kaufen. Ist der Hals sehr unkomfortabel dick? Intonationsprobleme mit der Brücke? Halsstab unten schwierig? Fehlende Kontur für den Unterarm störend?

I love my Squire

You should try 60% neck, 40% bridge and adding a compressor (1176 is the most accurate to Nate's tone). I archived a pretty similar tone to Nate's bass using that setting but with a JB with active pickups.

Great comparison. I’m partial to the Rick because it’s one of the coolest basses ever but I think the Jazz is the one I’d choose if I had to take home one of these. Classic versatility.

Sounds-wise it was Sire then HB. Looks-wise I don't know - maybe the Squier wins. But actually playing them one after the other is absolutely necessary for good comparison.

I love the visual aesthetic of the tele headstock… Superficial I know, but still.

To me, the Ibanez showed it's color the best, the Dingwall sounded the best but man, that MusicMan sounded just as the recording. The MM won the test just because the track demanded its tone.

I find that I like Ibanez best between it and the dingwall. I think it’s the pick ups or tone wood (or both). It’s interesting because I have an NG and I don’t have the Ibanez but another multi scale with the same pickups and I love the sound of those big splits way better than the dingwall, but the dingwall has the best/most comfortable feel in my hands. I wish the big splits would fit in the dingwall, would be a nice test to try.

I have a Squire p bass which does what I want it to do,play my loud stranglers riffs and Jam Riffs.my jazz is a peavey The Sire seems more of a jazz Bass/ fender is out of the questions too expensive.HB seems too good to be true. Do any have ss frets ? that is a big persuader for a cheap instrument
