      Coming back from the blue line you should take the yellow line then get the red line that will take you there, it will go back to the yellow line then the start of the trail.

    • @michiganmountainbiking9804
      @michiganmountainbiking9804 Год назад

      Thanks! My favorite is probably Island Lake's Blue Trail - I think the wide range in terrain and views is hard to beat and it's also the trail that was closest to home growing up so it has a special place with me for that reason too. It's a trail that can be fun for everyone from beginners to experts and it's hard to make a trail that a range of riders that wide finds enjoyable. My other favorites would probably be Maybury, Bloomer, and DTE.

      @@michiganmountainbiking9804 You're welcome. 🤟🏾 I've never been on any of those; they're out of my reach due to me not having a car and just starting to ride trails a month or so ago. I've been to Clinton River Park, River Bends, and Lakeshore Park so far. I do plan on visiting Bloomer Park.

    Did this trail yesterday...had a blast. Definitely going again. I noticed that you didn't hit a few high speed sections near the beginning. One in particular was near the beginning, which runs on a steep hill. That was my favorite part of the trail. I think the part at 9:10 is the section I'm talking about. 😆🤦🏾 It felt longer but faster. Lol

    • @michiganmountainbiking9804
      @michiganmountainbiking9804 Год назад

      Yeah I took this video my first time there so I didn't hit some of the sections that I do when I go now. At local trails, I usually will skip some sections like that the first time I'm there so I can scout out the terrain ahead and then get more aggressive with further visits to the trail and stuff.

    Loop 3 is one of those trails that's more fun the faster you go. Most of the corners have enough of a berm that you can actually take them at a pretty high speed. My PB through there is 9:25 which isn't fast, but fast enough to make it exciting. Also I'm 6'4" and I duck WAY down when I go under that power line.

    • @michiganmountainbiking9804
      @michiganmountainbiking9804 Год назад

      Haha yeah I'm also 6'4" and yeah those lines are real sketchy low. I don't have too much experience with the trail overall, this was my 3rd time there I think so I haven't really gone for any top speed or anything but it's a fun park overall. Loop 3 is just a ton of switchbacks on switchbacks though so not my favorite personally but it's nice that the trail is there since there aren't many others real close for people who live in that area.

    You're not supposed to ride trails when they're wet, man.You probably messed up your drivetrain, too, with all of the grit and grime from the mud.

    • @michiganmountainbiking9804
      @michiganmountainbiking9804 2 года назад

      I mean 99% of the trail was great and not even soft with the occasional soft spot or avoidable puddle so I definitely consider that to be acceptable riding conditions and most mountain bikes can take some mud without permanent damage or anything so I'm definitely good on that front as the bike is still riding great. You should check out Bloomer some time, there are parts of the trail almost always submerged in standing water and there's one part of the trail that purposely crosses a stream actually.

    • @TheBenwolak
      @TheBenwolak 2 года назад

      Haha yeah I actually just upgraded this year to a Polygon. I just finished college so spent some full time job money on that but yeah this bike definitely makes some noise after years of riding it often and with it being an entry level bike. I also use an offbrand camelback now so I don't have the water bottle making too much noise or anything anymore.

      I have not personally but I generally avoid that park after dark when I'm alone but outside of that time, I think you're good pretty much anywhere in the park as they have a police substation located in the park. There are usually a lot of people in the park especially on nice days.
