To show displacement reaction
Procedure:
Take five 100 ml beakers and label them A, B, C, D and E. Take about 50 ml of water in each beaker.
Dissolve in each beaker a teaspoonful of each substance as Indicated:
Beaker A : Copper sulphate (CuSO4) + Zinc granule (Zn)
Beaker B : Copper sulphate (CuSO4) + Iron nail (Fe)
Beaker C : Zinc sulphate (ZnSO4) + Copper turnings (Cu)
Beaker D : Iron sulphate (FeSO4) + Copper turnings (Cu)
Beaker E : Zinc sulphate (ZnSO4) + Iron nail (Fe)
Result: In beaker ‘A’ zinc (Zn) replaces copper (Cu) from copper sulphate (CuSO4).
In beaker ‘B’ Iron (Fe) replaces copper (Cu) from copper sulphate (CuSO4). We do not see any change in beaker C, beaker D and beaker E.

Procedure: Collect a spoonful of rust and dissolve it in a very little amount of water. The rust remains suspended in water. Shake the suspension well. Test the solution with red and blue litmus papers. Observation: The red litmus paper changes into blue. Conclusion: The solution is basic in nature.
Activity to prove that metals are good conductors of electricity

An activity to make an electric circuit to test whether electricity can pass through an object or not. Results: We can see that, when we take sulphur and coal, the bulb does not glow. But when we take iron nail and copper wire, the bulb glows. Conclusion: This proves that metals are good conductor of electricity and Non-metals are poor conductor of electricity.
