First time fpl player: how obligated should I feel to play an early wildcard? I made the plan to do it in 6 like everyone else and grab Arsenal players but rn I feel like my team is super similar to the current wildcard template and was wondering what the pros are to holding it to an even later gameweek and just keep the momentum going with free transfers

I agree 100% with Brandon that ten hag is a joke and terrible leader of men...and possibly a terrible man himself! I've had Haaland and Salah together from the beginning. You guys should feel shame for ignoring Salah. All you guys have ever said for the last few years is how Salah is the FPL goat. It's absurd to proceed forward without the Egyptian King RUNNING down the wing.

Question: I’m tormenting myself between two drafts. Both have Haaland, one also has Salah. Basically the differences are: Salah + Eze + Muniz OR Son + Jota + Havertz. Thoughts?!?!

Josh - I love y'all, so please take this feedback with the best intentions. You said Saka was 10.5 and compared him to Palmer, however he is 10 and it would have been more interesting to get the perspective vs Son. That is an interesting discussion over the first 6 GW's.

In my opinion there is too much emphasis being placed on players having to start the first game vs high quality assets who will come off the bench but likely start from game week 2 onwards. Players like Foden and Mateta. Last season we saw the template avoid Mbeumo because he had a small flag (but started anyway in the end) and most had to scramble to get him in their sides after he started the season so well. Surely we need to pick our squads for the first month or more and not focus so much on the first game week alone.

I always love your content...been riding with you guys for a few seasons now. But you realize your tiers are not visible to the audience, right? It's just a spreadsheet without tiers. If you're gonna talk tiers, you should visually separate the players into tiers, right? Sorry to be that guy! But I had that feeling during the forwards video also. Keep up the great work. Currently holding Watkins, but as said in the video, he’s not on penalties as of now and isn’t particularly great at them. After looking into it, he over performed his xG by 2 and his xA by a whopping 9 assists. So you think that it is perhaps most likely that he has another good season, but not one that warrants spending 9 million on him over a consistent performer like Son or Salah as a marquee player?

I feel like you're underrating Havertz and basically ignored the fact that he became a great FPL asset once he moved to the striker position. His per90 numbers as a striker were better than Watkins last season. Although it's a small sample size I don't see a reason why those numbers would go down.

I think over the course of a season both play styles will be rewarded. There will be moments where jumping on a player aggressively and getting ahead of a price increase will be the optimal move that pays off for managers willing to take risks, and patient managers will lose out. There will be moments where high risk managers make aggressive moves that don’t pay off, and the patient managers who waited for more data will benefit. Both styles are also now much more clear and obvious differentials that both patient and risky managers can use to try and get ahead and catch up if they think they lost points in the past

Great podcast guys :) been an on-off listener of the podcast for a few seasons but didn't know you also did the youtube uploads till you mentioned it, good to put a face to the voices I hear on my walks. How is a team that is 5 points from drop with a terrible goal difference "on the beach"? It's almost like you just assume we are comfortably midtable without looking how close we are to Luton. Also Oliver Glasner has won the Europa League with Eintract Frankfurt only 2 years ago, so don't treat him like some "Austrian" nobody. We are playing poor dgmw, but we ain't coasting. Love the show otherwise.
