Here's Where The Hidden Grand Central Madison Elevators Are
Просмотров 8 тыс.Год назад
I've seen a few few questions around where the elevators for Grand Central Madison are located in Manhattan, so I took a walk through the surrounding streets to find them. The video also shows the elevators inside the station, leading from the main terminal/concourse into the LIRR platforms/tracks. These elevators on 44th, 47th and 48th Streets (between Madison Avenue and Vanderbilt/Park Avenue...

Truth. Most people have enough problems of their own to carry someone elses baggage
This is the best place, I have tried the pizza it beats all the pizza restaurant chains
Let’s go nets
I grew up on Ocean Parkway in an apartment building.I did not realize how many private homes were in the parkway.
Did you know that in the 40s and 50s,they had bridal paths in the Parkway. They went from.Prospect Park to Coney Island.
When was this fimed? Google maps street view image from Jul 2022 shows no elevator there.
What is the Upper level?
Beautiful view ❤
Its amazing how this gets changed into that ice rink!!!! I didn't realize they elevated the platform so high! They do a great job!!
So that was the new mta corridor renovation (33rd st). The stores are along the south corridor along the real estate property. Tracks are used by LlIRR from 21 to 11 NJT uses tracks 12 - 1 Amtrak uses 16 - 3 Penn Station is a mass transit hub shared by all 3 agencies. There are 3 levels all shared with someone. Moynihan Trainhall is owned by NYS. Amtrak and LIRR are Tenants to this facility therefore they have NO real say on what goes on in the building unless the state approves.
Nosotros no queremos videos de la ciudad sino de lo que venden
It's time to blast Celine Dion and dance all over that coach
Try Driving there.. it's hell
It doesn't matter where they are made. It depends on artisans and quality inspection. My family and I have bought 2 *hidups* bags in the past 3 years and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
Amazing tour, keep up the good work!
Thank you
STETA KO NIJE BIO U OVOM GRADU😎
This place looks fantastic with the shops and full of passengers, I only saw when it initially opened.
The Division brought me here
Your videos are great
How are people with kids or luggage supposed to navigate that 100' ascent or descent? Seems like a lapse in design judgement on that one.
Its weird how there are no benches anywhere.
Good video and interesting to see!
Where ia this
what is the name of the song
Thanks so much, you've answered our question where the heck these elevators are at the street level.
What is happening there?? Looks like some sort of stage is being put together
@ brokenblossom1, March, removing the Winter Village and ice rink at end of winter season. Winter 2023, open now for skating and Winter Village.
Wow that big bust on all the fake luxury goods really took it's toll that was 2 months before this shoot !
Thank-you for the walk through of the Long Island Railroad additions to Grand Central Station and the changes to Penn Station. I used to at separate times use both stations and very much enjoyed seeing how they are now. As a person with limited mobility however I don’t see enough elevators and at Grand Central it looks as if getting to the street is not easy
Agreed on the lack of elevators. Have a look at my other video here where I've attempted to show where some of these more hidden elevators to the street are: ruclips.net/video/mp3NfR69yaI/видео.html
Chinese stores of fake items
Last year when I was visiting NYC I thought the Moynihan side of Penn Station is very beautiful however it does have some setbacks, the notable lack of benches along the columns not counting the ticketed waiting area for Amtrak riders and the food hall. I do find it's easier to navigate than the labyrinth that is the main section of Penn Station.
The lack of benches has certainly been a major talking point across many NYC transit hubs.
They need to change the flooring at Penn Station, its very dated and dirty.
I'm sure they will with the new updates.
It may not be perfect, but it is better than the rat maze it is replacing!
Agreed!
thanks for the video! I'm gonna visit Pier40 soon for some pickup soccer.
It's a great place to play
tear down MSG and start over
I've seen a couple options recently proposing this too.
Thanks for the tour !
Any time!
So big
I am not too big on these boondoggles, but when they are this beautiful, I sometimes make exceptions, and this might be a rare instance of having to make one.
Still no public seating? Crazy.
The mural of the people shows the misery of the typical commuter deals with every day with LIRR.
I am going be traveling to NYC by amtrak. I don't see anyone with wheel chairs, do they have them. Does anyone know will amtrak cove to the rail side to get me? Is there a different web site to go to for that info. Train station looks very big and a lot of walking
I'm not too sure of the answers to your questions unfortunately, but here are a couple of website links that you may find helpful. The first link seems to have a contact number for any questions. www.infofornyc.com/travel/penn-station-handicap-accessibility.html secretnyc.co/penn-station-accessibility-improvements-nyc/
2:55 original 1910 Penn Station stairways. Where are all the benches for passengers to sit on?
I assume they've been removed while renovations take place.
what a fucking boondoggle thanks for showing us!
Please tell me that elevators are provided for those with wheelchairs, scooters and such for those with physical disabilities. That is one hell of a walk. And I am talking specifically elevators from the main terminal to go up and down to the LIRR.That terminal is so big it should provide maintenance jobs for a lifetime. Lol can you imagine trying to wax them floors.
That's a very good question. I had to look this up, but elevators do in fact exist, even though they sound like they're a little hard to find. Here's an article I came across that shows where those elevators are located - I may need to do a video where I can show them on camera. gothamist.com/news/all-aboard-the-secret-elevators-to-grand-central-madison
@@newyorkerwalking Thank you.Everything is still a work in progress.Terrific video.
Does the biggest train station in London, England easier to navigate and pass thru? And does it connect to the London Tubes?
I'm not sure how this NYC station compares to the ones in London unfortunately, sorry.
I don't like how blindingly bright they've made some sections of Penn Station. It was perfect a few months ago. Some people complained the new parts were too dark, and now it's too bright!
I agree! It reminds me of Occulus which is all white inside. Beautiful structure but absolutely no colors .
Just shows that you can’t keep everyone happy.
LOL. As a former long Island resident tortured by the daily commute though NY Penn Station I've been watching progress on the East Side Access like a hawk for over a decade. Monthly progress report pictures, project updates etc. Debates in the local press about budget over-runs and why some rolling stock can't be used in these tunnels. It comes as a shock to hear someone describe this as a well kept secret :) But thanks for a great walking tour!
You're welcome! It sounds like there were clearly more comms around it than what I'd been tuned into, so I'm glad to hear that it wasn't as covert as I'd thought :)
Always nice walking in Chelsea
Damn it definitely got a whole facelift since I've last been there in August
A lot of work done so far yes!
Pat Moynihan, as US Ambassador to the United Nations, enabled the rape of East Timor by making sure the UN wouldn't interfere in that crime against humanity. (He also called for "benign neglect" of the issue of race...)
