    Currently for 2024 the depreciation rate is 60%, let's assume Trump reinstates his old tax policy and the depreciation goes to 100%. If I have a cost segregation study completed on my newly acquired investment property at that 60%, would I be able to go back retroactively and get that other 40% I missed out on?

    • @Tduryea767
      @Tduryea767 2 дня назад

      That wouldn’t have anything to do with the cost segregation study itself, but with the way the new law (bringing back 100% bonus) is written. If the law ends up allowing retroactive deductions, then yes, if not, then no. You would not have to redo a new study. That being said, I’m not a CPA. Consult with your counsel, do your own research and due diligence. We have yet to see what unfolds with new tax rules, but we’re optimistic.

    Thank you so much for what you guys do. I'm currently sitting on reserve in San Juan as a first year FO commuter. There's a lot of days where I don't get used so I've been utilizing that time to learn more about ways to invest, save, and make money passively. This podcast has been my go-to for the past couple of months. You guys have put a lot of things into perpective with how I should start investing vs what I should do in coming years as a higher paid captain. What you're doing for pilots is so important and the information ya'll provide is invaluable. Just wanted to say thank you. I'm catching up with all of the episodes so this may have already been discussed but I'd be curious to see what advice more seasoned, higher paid pilots would give to first time professional pilots. Anything they wish they would have done in the beginning, things to watch our for, etc? I know a lot of these episodes are geared to the high-income earners but any advice to help accelerate us newbies' earning potential would be awesome. Thanks again!

    Another great video. I think this topic still needs clarification😂. I’m of the same mindset where I want to max out the $69K but put in the bare min on my own. Can I just convert what I put in the 401(k) let’s say $10K into Roth? That would be just the backdoor Roth correct?

    No one should worry about s corps or llc until your buisness turns profit or you need a legal entity for payment processor it's just a way of lowering personal liability and you can file the paperwork at through your state and state website save money.

    • @TianaManeO
      @TianaManeO 2 месяца назад

      Starting an LLC or S Corp after reaching profitability or needing liability protection is sensible, but early formation has benefits too. An LLC offers liability coverage and simpler management, while an S Corp can lower self-employment taxes for higher income. Consulting a professional ensures you choose the best fit as your business grows.

      Using pre-tax contributions in an LLC or S Corp can reduce taxable income during high-earning years, while post-tax contributions like Roth options can ease taxes in retirement, creating a balanced tax strategy.

    Thanks for highlighting the value (for some) of preserving cash in lieu of paying down low interest debt (mortgage). This is a great, but underutilized, concept to be able to use the cash for something to create more wealth that would otherwise be tied up, and inaccessible, if used to pay off a home or rental property....

    Why aren't your video views increasing? And not reaching people? The reason is: 1. Your video is not being SEO properly 2. Your video is not reaching the right people 3. Not using video hash tags properly 4. Not sharing the video on social media There are a few more reasons. That's why your videos are limited to your channel. Can't get out In a word, your video is awesome. Such videos are in great demand. If you do these things correctly. Hopefully, you will get a lot of visitors. I can help with that. You guys have talked a lot about our 1000 hour rules as pilots and that makes it a little easier to qualify for real estate professional status. Have you ran into any specifics of how the IRS sees flights like “split duties” or when the clock actually starts for airline activities? Aka report/release times vs block hours, or time spent at annual CQ, or seat substitutions in the simulators? My CPA is looking into these things for me but so far from what I’ve seen, there isn’t much out there about these scenarios. Thanks for all the great info y’all have on this show it’s been awesome to follow along!
