    Hmmm, interesting. The woman was selfish and greedy and that led to her downfall. 1st by cheating on her husband and then not wanting to let the young man have a life! The guy was frustrated enough to go and "report" himself to her husband. As for the husband's actions, I think he was quite mature about it. Like he said the marriage was over the minute he found out so no need having a discussion about why she cheated. He just planned his exit carefully and left her to deal with it!

    It is clear that most women get into all manner of bad behavior in order to get-by. That's no secret and that's probably what the individual you're reacting to tried to elicit with a warning to men. If you are an exception, then, that's commendable and it's likely for your faith and upbringing. That individual is not necessarily wrong in that there's a message she is trying to portray. Nowadays, it would seem that women believe they can go into some closet, eat anything and wipe their mouths before coming out since nobody is supposed to challenge them.

    One of the primary definitions of love is patience. Remember, ...love is patient...If you truly love, you would demonstrate patience in both the private and public space. If you cannot demonstrate patience and self control in the public space, obviously the patience level would be low in the private space. There is no woman who would appreciate such treatment in the public. Would you if you were at the receiving end negatively? Humanity (both men and women) must begin to learn self control. Life and relationships would be better with a higher level of self control. As a matter of fact, self control is the stabilizer of all relationships..selah

    • @phumziemim3973
      @phumziemim3973 2 месяца назад

      @solomonodutayo15 GOD is LOVE, and love is patient. But even GOD has HIS limits. In Revelation HE says that HE will spew us out of HIS mouth if we persist in being indifferent to HIM. A woman is a human being. What you don't want happening to you, she will also not like happening to her. Everybody has a breaking point. Even you. You have not been patient and mellow all your life. You have raised your voice at some point , no? Let's stop expecting women to live up to some standard that doesn't exist for human beings. If her husband truly loves her, he would not provoke and push his wife to a point where she disgraces herself, embarrassing herself in front of 2000+ people in a BIG church. Provoking a person and feeling entitlement to their patience as proof of love is abuse. If you love your wife, you would be cherishing her instead of testing her patience to see if she is a good woman. Nobody addresses the part of the man. It's always the woman who's persecuted for reacting. This is how we are taught over and over again to suffer in silence at the hands of the man.

  • @phumziemim3973
    @phumziemim3973 3 месяца назад

    Nope. These type of men offend you deliberately knowing that you are about to appear in public. Like kids who misbehave at church knowing that people will judge you for spanking them and feel sorry for them. Some men are just cruel like that ... and know that they will always win because if he acts innocent, the woman will be reprimanded. If he pretends he doesn't know what's going on and apologetically tries to cover for her, then she looks crazy. As the head of his home, why did he let his family leave the home and travel all the way to church without addressing the issue and making amends with his wife before standing in front of the alter to seek GOD'S blessing? He is the culprit. While I don't condone public displays of drama, I don't support women suffering in silence even more. Abusive men will stab you and count on you to not bleed when in public, to uphold his reputation. To wear pain so well until it looks like it doesn't hurt you. You will catch him cheating unrepentantly and he will expect you to let him kiss you and touch you in public shows of affection and you are to let him even after betrayal so that he looks like a good husband to the public Let him have it sis. You feel what you feel because he caused it.

    • @wivesroundtable
      @wivesroundtable 3 месяца назад

      You actually do have a great point sis! 👍 However, I still feel like there are other ways to address issues rather than let over 2k people in a church, into a situation in that manner. I am NOT one for pretence, but I am an advocate for Self Control. A lot could have been done better in this situation, by both of them. We learn everyday, that's why I shared the experience.

    • @phumziemim3973
      @phumziemim3973 3 месяца назад

      @wivesroundtable I really hear you sis. That would be uncomfortable for anyone to watch, but also of such is the disturbing/ distressing nature of a cry for help. If it was good church, the mothers and fellow women would surround her in prayer, comfort and wisdom, and the men would do likewise to the husband in counsel as he is the man of his house. What we, the women, need to stop doing is to be hostages to the reputations of our families and husbands. Its not our job, and it does not help our mental health either. We need to stop acting like we are okay when we are not because we are worried 'what people will say'. We should not be punished for reacting either. The truth is that it says a lot for someone to get to a point where they are pushed to a point where their self control slips. What has been going on in that home? How many times? If a man is a good man, husband and father, his actions will speak for themselves in the happiness he creates or facilitates in his home. It is not the woman's duty to make him seem like something / someone he is not. The Bible says that if I have something against you, I must leave my gift at the alter and fix things with you before GOD accepts it. There is a whole procedure in Matthew 5:23-24. How did he lead his family out the door knowing they were to be appearing before GOD to be seeking a blessing in that state as the leader of his household? I know of men who act like victims in order to garner sympathy from potential women that they hope to be cheating with with a, 'She is mean, you saw her huffing and puffing infront of the whole congregation. There is no love between us. I will leave her for you. You are so good to me. If only I met you sooner ' ...type narrative. The woman gains nothing while the man has more to gain by making his wife look crazy. Just what has he been doing to her behind the scenes?

      @@phumziemim3973 I'm REALLY loving this intelligent conversation! It's rare to find people these days put out issue based submissions so well, without insults, like you've done. Thank you very much, sis 👌 I agree with some parts of your submission especially around how some women would have taken in so much till they can no longer hold it in and how women shouldn't be made to be gate-keepers of the man's reputation Sis, can you imagine how the world will be if everyone reacted EXACTLY how they felt everytime and everywhere they felt it? Parents, hired helps, children, husbands, wives, employers, employees - everyone just reacting as they feel it, WHERE they feel it??? CHAOS! That's what we'll have! I will NEVER advocate for "keeping things in". NEVER! In fact, Wivesroundtable was created on the back of "Letting things OUT"! Giving women a platform to VOICE their experiences including their frustrations. But I am a big advocate of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE! Being aware of our feelings, thoughts and emotions and working well to manage them. It helps put us in a better mind frame to take healthier decisions because lots of things are wrecked when we act based on our feelings and emotions. I honestly would have loved to speak with that woman after mass, but because of the crowd that escorted them to the alter, I lost both she and her husband in the maze and couldn't figure out where they went. It's a LARGE church.

    • @phumziemim3973
      @phumziemim3973 2 месяца назад

      @wivesroundtable if i ever bump into you having a breakdown/ meltdown, my first reaction will be to hug you and tell you it's okay, stranger or not. Even if we are in the middle of a store, I will let them know that it's going to be okay, I got you. I will sit with you while you cry it out, and when you feel better, we will sit over tea and something sweet, talk about it and pray 🙏🏾, the LORD will guide us to a solution. HE has promised. It would indeed be a frightening chaos if everyone acted out their feelings, because nobody wants to look bad. Nobody. I don't know of anyone who sets out to act deliberately so either. But if someone gets to the point where they crack under the pressure because they are human and are hurting, I hope our Christian response is that of compassion where we envelope them in our arms like CHRIST would in love, instead of telling them that they should just control themselves better. Her actions were just a symptom of the real disease. If you see me crying in the street, the issue is not that I am making sounds with my voice, there's nothing remarkable about that, neither is the salt water coming from my eyes amazing. The root cause that needs to be addressed is the 'why' I am crying. That is what needs to be addressed.
