You can go to Hotkeys tab, go to magery, and the top two options should be like mini or heal and greater heal, then it will have a list of all the spells. If you set that first option "heal" you can have it cast mini heals when not poisoned and casts cure if poisoned. You can select the "Self" one if you want it to auto cast on you.

Right now there is an event going on that has most of the best artis in the game, even if the event doesn't have them, you can easily trade those event artis for gold or for whatever you need. I suggest you make a sampire and farm as much as possible before the event ends. Should last till the holidays. You don't even need to be that strong to farm this event, so I'd train up swords, tactics, anatomy, healing, parry character asap and start farming (those skills you should be able to get to about 70+ in an hour at New Haven) . It might be smart to train it to 100 before going to the event, but even at 70 should be viable and could just train on the monsters at the event. The first gold you get should be 120 swordsmanship scroll, which will improve your farming rate.

In regards to your question about artifacts from the olden days... Sadly most of those old artis are worthless now, depending on the era. As far as the event, you might need to ask someone how to tell which town to go to and fight the monsters. But it's fairly simple. Towns are being raided by the undead, so you go to the town that is being raided and kill monsters. Killing monsters will drop an item in your backpack (make sure to insure them so you dont lose them if you die). These drops you turn in to an NPC in Brittania, which you can exchange for the top tier arties (arch lich gloves, arch lich robe, etc).

While they are not wrong, bok mage is kind of always the go to.. 90% of the time I play a parry mage, and while I think you will need a bok mage at some point, it is better to start with a parry mage. Probably the mystic shieldbash mage would be the best first pvp template imo. People rely too much on evasion and their awareness never improves because of it. If you played a parry mage and your awareness significantly improves because of it, then you'll be much better than the average person on a bok mage. This video is also a year old, so there have been a couple of new items that have been added; however, for the most part everything is still the same as in this video. If you're set on a bok mage, I would go with the regular bok mage with HLD glasses (prismatic lenses).

@blackmagic1590 Thanks for the update. I'm collecting my suit as we type. Can't find those Archlich gloves, though... I can find variations it seems but not exactly what is on your screen. Also, I JUST purchased the Captain Jacks hat :(. Ok update, I’ll get the lenses and move the hat over to my PvM mage. Any other advice? I appreciate the help.

@@JackofAllTrades1 Are you limited on gold? Some of these new artifacts are very expensive and will be on auction safes. You could probably find a good pair of gloves on vendor search; however, for the suit to be built properly you would absolutely want the arch lich gloves, there is no pair that is anywhere near as good. Generally all PvPers will be using them, it is the one artifact that is a must have. If you went with Captain Johns then you'd definitely be going the cheaper route so you wouldn't need as many of the expensive artifacts, but it would be something you might want to improve in the future. @@JackofAllTrades1 Also --- When you start building a suit, you never buy the suit first. You always find the jewels first. I made that list with all the items (at that time) so people could look at the stats and try to piece it together. It is a very complex process, because everything has to fit like a puzzle while achieving what you need which is - 45 hci, 30 dci, 20% sdi, 50% enhanced potions, 5%+ swing speed, 85+ dmg inc, 22+ mana regen, 18 hit point regen, 25 hit point inc, 100 lrc, 40 lmc, 30% fire eater, 15-18% dmg eater. You first want to look for a TOP tier jewel, one that has 8 STRONG mods. After you find the main jewel you want to build your suit around, you start looking for the second jewel (ideally one that also uses 8 strong mods) and when you look at that jewel you should be able to determine if you can use a variation of the items to checkbox all of the required stats. For jewels what counts as a strong mod is: Hit chance/Defense Chance Enhanced Potions (35% is extra useful because it can be used with the mushrooms apron that has 15% enhanced potions, so you wouldn't need enhanced potions on the other jewel to reach 50% - if you have only 25% enhanced potions on the jewel then the other jewel must have it also), 3+ Mana regen, 8+ Strength/Int/Dex, 20% LRC (VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE ON A BOK MAGE), 25% dmg inc, +15 of a USEABLE SKILL (because you must have 120 real bushido and at least 90 REAL Swordsmanship skill), 10% swing speed, 8%+ Lower Mana Cost (I feel this isn't the BEST mod because you should be able to reach 40% LMC on your suit without it) 4 mana/stam inc COUNTS AS HALF OF A MOD

Depends on the situation. Big team fights the DP mage, but if there's just a a few of us and a lot of them then the glenda mystic basher. They have nerfed this DP mage ALOT since I've made this video, so it is a lot harder to use and not as good as it used to be. The one template that works in every situation is the mystic shield bash mage, and with lightning cuffs it's strong in a 1v1 too. Mystic spells just do so much damage, so if it was a 3v3 tourny I think all mystic mages would probably be the best route.

The most recent UO patch messed things up, so if you fully patch your original UO client it wont work. You will need to download: drive.google.com/file/d/1qDg1woNppSK4802nMB777GTOSnfjbxUu/view?usp=drive_link this is just the older version before OSI messed up this most recent patch. You just have to move this folder into where your current Ultima Online Folder is, maybe rename it, then set the new patch in Orion to that new folder you just created. Thanks! Ya, maybe I will make a video for my tamer mage! He is 120 eval/parry/wrestle/resist/taming, 110 mage/animal lore. Something like 25 mr, 18 hpr, 20 swing speed, 20 sdi, 45 hci / 30 dci (refined physical/fire/energy). I use a regular nightmare I trained up (I killed thousands of nightmares to find high intensity void / chrome 2 slot nightmares). I put 65 of each resist on it, 500 hp, 10 hpr, 25 mr, 700 int, 500+ mana, 150 dex & stam, special ability mortal, necromage, 120 spirit speak, 120 wrestling, 120 eval, 120 resist (my main mare has 120 necro) it does seem to me that the higher the magic skill, the more spells they seem to cast but that just might be in my head - then the rest of everything else goes into strength. Pre-patch mares will have more str and technically will hit harder, it just seems that my 2 slot 120 necro mare casts a lot more which is what I use it for. I don't use it as a typical tamer that tries to get ppl on foot then sick the pet on them, I'll cast explode, all kill, ebolt and by the time my explode ebolt hit my mare generally casts 3 spells on them, then I quickly get right back on it. Barrab potions are also important for when you're on foot and tanking damage.

@@tysonjones88 Any wrestle parry mage is going to drink a str and agility, then cast curse on themselves with 120 eval. After potted up and cursed you should be 150hp, 80 dex, 90 stam, 100+ int/145+ mana (20 swing speed)

When I say wrestle parry mage, I mean someone who is trying to shield bash and disarm people. You could just go with 100 anatomy instead if you're not planning on shield bashing.

They wont do that, they basically need to create their own version of Orion or third party app that would increase the FPS, allow you to adjust screen size, and a lot more. Everyone would quit if they were forced to play on a 10 FPS client, which the original UO client is.

But ya I don't expect it will all be smooth sailing from here on out either... I'm disappointed with OSI. If you patch you can't log-in with Orion without doing some backwater method to bypass it, so tbh it might be the beginning of the end for UO unless they make some serious corrections such as making their own 3rd party client like Orion and restricting the others.

I only play OSI - From what I understand the PvP is better on OSI because the free servers are mostly for PvM content. I did pay for the first two months of the OSI subscription before I started exchanging gold for gametime codes which is pretty manageable to do. I personally have my accounts paid for years in advance from in game gold.

I just started playing osi on Atlantic. What shard ya on? I can't wait to get back into pvp.

@@julianalexander4525 I personally go to tram Jhelom, I buy a two handed weapon I don't have weapon skill in, then go to the farms and get all the sheep/pigs to attack me. You'll want to have 18 hit point regen on your suit so you won't have to heal much if at all.

Yes, but when you adjust your stats, you have to calculate after drinking a strength and agility, then casting curse on yourself. Then you have to be over 80 dex for max parry chance, but you do still need 90 stam increase and 20 swing speed to swing max with wrestling and shield bashes.

After drinking strength and agility potions, then casting curse on myself - I aim for 150 hp, 80+dex and 93ish stam, and as long as I'm over 100 intelligence and about 140 mana I'm fine.

It is a hard temp to use correctly. You don't want to be off mount long, just in-between the combo and quickly get back on. I use a regular old 2-slot void nightmare cuz they look cool. I do have a prepatch one also but my regular 2 slot void mare seems to cast more - and that's what I'm looking for. I want the mare to cast 2-3 spells while im casting my combo. Necromage: 65 in all resists, max int/dex/stam, 500-600 mana, 350-400 str (depends on mare's intensity level), 10 hpr, 25 mr, 120 wrestling/resist/eval/spirit speak (I have 120 necro on my void mare, might be why it seems to cast more?) Special Abilities: Necromage & Mortal

I forgot to mention hp, 500 hp is good. You're on a mage, so you can heal/cure it, its not meant to be a tanky pet.

Are you that Test Dummy? Never seen someone else use my temp and void mare before, and I randomly saw one out there today. Coincidence?

Sounds like you're not on Orion? I would suggest making the switch.. I do have a video for setting it up. There is a way but since I use Orion and it's been so long since I was on regular client, I'll be rusty on the details. If you go into your UO files, the "ArtLegacy.mul" files I believe need to be edited, but you might wanna Google "Ultima Online art files" or ask someone else since I don't remember exactly how anymore.

This was kind of a sequel to my original mystic build video. If you watch that one it has how to build it, what items are being used, etc. But the template is 120 mystic, focus, resist, parry, wrestling, eval int, and 110 magery. This template is a little tough to build because of the amount of skill increase needed.

I might just do that, there are a few things that do need updated. Just is a lot of work, but I'll get to it at some point soon.

Another extremely useful video would be one explaining the meta combos for templates. Having the templates is one thing but if they don’t know how to properly utilize them with proper spell combos during the proper situations, it can be difficult. Just an idea, I know I would definitely benefit from it. Appreciate the vids!

Just recently there has been an update I should have added to the description: Update: When opening Orion, on the bottom click 'Edit Profile', and at enter 'login.ultimaonline.com,7776' at the port.

I was using the 30% hci bone helmet - but I will need to make new videos because there have been a bunch of new items released since then. So now I'm just using a regular hat that has a lot of stats, lrc, lmc, hpi, regens, etc. because these toons just keep getting easier to build with all the new artifacts out.

Oh sorry, I mis-read the question. With alchy parry mage it depends on a few things, like their skill level. I normally cast harm a few times on someone after they are cursed, till they are around 70%, then cast explode - proc your shield bash and if shield bash connects, I nova and cast ebolt lightning as my finisher. Again, I'll have to make a video on it.

You need 60 skill increase total, and you don't want it in mace fighting or parry skill or your shield bashes wont be as good. I do use 120 mystic, it is important to be able to use bombard frequently instead of waiting for the 'perfect' moment. When you use a bombard, you should try to immediately get the trigger back up so you can use it again after the timer is up.

To answer your question more directly, you don't need 'real skill', as long as you are at 120 mysticism. 'Real skill' only matters for masteries, such as war cry, shield bash, heighten senses, etc. -- There is one exception, a bokuto's nerve strike dmg is dependent on real skill.

@@blackmagic1590 Thanks for the reply and explanation! This looks like like a very fun build. Something different than the ol Bok Mage. I've always like macer but nothing has been as fun as back in the day bashing people and destroying their armor. My macer just sits on the shelf since then.

@@mattjohnsen2144 I know some people that have made great templates making the storm lords a mage weapon. I don't remember if you needed real skill to be able to use the abilities or not (whirlwind and double strike), but if you add ninja you could focus attack for 60% sparks chance instead. I haven't experimented too much around it, and I do assume they'll patch it at some point. I've just seen other people build templates like that.

Targeting should be easier, but all targeting is used via scripts - at the end of the video it kind of explains it. You'd use the findnearest and targetnext script functions, use the targetnext. Currently notoriety is set to only go for orange targets. I have other scripts in there for hunting monsters, might be interested in looking at function autoSamp()

I believe it is built into my 'evade' script instead of my timers. I would have to double check.

In your Orion Assistant, under the 'Main' tab, and under the Sub-tab of 'Options 1' there is a checkbox for 'max target range'. Or, you could do what I do, and use a script that I included in the details. Name of the script is 'TargetCheck', which won't drop the spell if target isn't in range, or in line of sight.

The script definitely works, it is your Orion scripts syntax that has an error in there somewhere.

Check 13:19 in the video. The checkbox that says 'Max Target Distance'.

in a 1v1, magic arrow, harm, plague, explode, lightning, fireball, cure, mini heal, g heal, hail storm, if you're using a mystic that is.. In a field fight you'll just be casting explode, plague / mass sleep, plague / explode, cleansing winds. I was a bit confused by your question, idk if this helps. I'd recommend not going too much less than what I shown on the videos or your template will definitely suffer or take a hit.

After you cast a spell plague, you'll always want to follow it up with a magic arrow, if they keep running keep magic arrowing, if they stay on screen normally follow up the magic arrow with a fireball/lightning/hailstorm depending on if you have enough time to get it off or not.
