I got an old bike tire and cut out a nice reinforcement piece for the heel on my shoes it works a treat and the bottom will never wear out on the heel !!!

i bought my birkenstocks around that same time and mine soles were worn out the same way after only 2 months. i bought some a few years ago and they are in much better shape. did the company change the type of materials they use?

There’s a video from cobblers plus I think of a Birkenstock resolve using vibram outsoles from hiking boots instead of the fast wearing stock rubber. I’m not sure how it impacts flexibility, but I’m considering that for my next resoles for my sandals.

My cats are both sphinx and they're gone. Patch was born on 20 August 2010. He died on 21 June 2020 at age nine. Diva was born on 21 April 2021. She died on 16 January 2024 at age two. I cried and their coffins are in my bedroom in my house. I'll keep them forever until I die. I miss them every day.

I had this problem too ! I did so much research on sandals before purchase and Birkenstocks seemed like they would last the longest. Sadly it seems they are similar to doc martens in a sense that they WERE known as a premium quality product but they have obviously started manufacturing them to a lower quality standard in recent years 😭. Mine lasted less than a year and the footbed is coming apart from the straps and I don't even wear sandals very often atall ! 😪

The soles are definitely the weak point on Birks! I still love mine, but they were more practical back when they offered a robust repair program. At some point over the years, the repair program seems to have been quietly discontinued, at least in the US. There are independent cobblers that still do repairs and re-soles on these, but it's definitely an item that begins to lose its practicality if you can't access inexpensive repairs.

What y'all doing with these shoes on? Walk to heavy and not picking your feet up with each step? Geez. I have 12 pairs of different Birk styles for about 20 years and have 2 pair resoled once each. I wear nothing but Birks period. I don't have to clean the footbed hardly ever or never. I keep the cork sealed. Where had your feet been to make the beds look like asphalt? Go buy the faux Birks.

My baby girl died August 26 2024...in my arms. I played soothing piano cat music it's called. Holding her and sweetly telling her how wonderful she is, not was only. I cry lots at the worst times. Everything is her. I feel lonely without my girl, my daughter, my soul mate. No worse pain I know. I got a ball of her two color fur in a keepsake jar, she is in the garden where I put her myself. Just under a window facing a tree and her guard spot she kept watch over us. Now it is a stuffed replica sitting in her spot. A toy version. 🥴 I am alone so my only family close to me is gone. I would recommend the Lippert screen assist instead of the Camco bar if you have a Lippert screen door. It's probably pricier, but it attaches to the screen door handle and makes opening the screen door quite a lot easier.

I have been there 4 times now; still, I sobbed uncontrollably when I saw the same thing I had to do 4 times. It NEVER goes away completely...

You can take those to a cobbler to get the soles repaired or the cork replaced. It only costs a few bucks
