Raspberry Pi 5 is the latest if money is not a factor. Not really sure I understand the question to be honest. You will use HDMI output, I assume. In the video I used an older Pi 3+B I believe.
I have something on my PC opening a browser window with some ads every time I log in and don't know what to do, please help me
The video explains pretty well what to do, and if that is too complex I recommend Hitman Pro which is pretty easy to use. Let me know how it goes.
@@StuartPatterson can't find anything in my task manager about this thing, should I try the software?
@hakerkill_8332 Yeah, sometimes that stuff can be very stealthy. There are a number of "free" tools including RougeKiller, HitmanPro, and even a few online like www.eset.com/us/home/online-scanner Most will let you scan and even remove the stuff then ask you if you want to upgrade. You don't have to do that.
just tried RougeKiller but nothing worked, I was told by a friend of mine to use Adwcleaner, what do you think?
@@StuartPatterson update: i Just factory reset the PC and now seems to work fine
bro i dont have that processor option

It helped me out!
Glad it helped you!
Picking up the parts do do a similar build tomorrow.... been planning it for a while, but now I will make it happen.
Cool! Let me know how it works out and how you design it! The only problem I see with the one I made is that the fall of the rod is loud. The person I gave it too said he was going to add some rubber at the bottom to make it quieter.
@@StuartPatterson I am planning to put the cam wheel right under the rod holder and make the wheel interchangeable to different designs
@@TheSkinking Yeah, that is a good idea and then you can get different jigging patterns.
Thanks Stuart!
You bet!
When calibrating the multimeter on the DCV range does it calculate the ACV range at the same time. . Also does it not put the over ranges ie ohms and diode. ?
I think that might be meter specific based on design. Maybe a good question for Dave Jones. I know he built a commercial meter. Personally , if i needed that level of calibration I would send it off to a calibration lab.
Very helpful. Big thanks.
Glad it helped you!
Great video. It works! Thank you
Glad it helped!
will it engrave raw brass
Don’t know, never tried.
A great open & honest review that was really appreciated. I watched many K40 review videos, takings notes on all the issues / problems people were having, as well as all the improvements / mods they did, before I even purchased my K40. Before even firing it up the first time, I addressed all the common issues / problems people were having, and made a numbre of improvements / mods to it. It has been an awesome Cutter / Engraver - never giving me any problems.
Thank you! I use mine for prototyping and except for the initial issues I have not had anymore problems.
I dont have that old bootloader option in my arduino IDE, What to do?
I did confirm that the latest version of the Arduino IDE, at the time of this writing, 2.3.4, still has the old boot loader listed under "Processor:." So, you either have the wrong board selected OR you don't have a board with the ATmega328P chip.
I imagine that the prompt you used for the thumb was "Santa Claus using a Portal Gun to shoot a portal", am I right?
Close but not exactly, I used - "create an image of santa using a white portal gun from the game portal and opening a blue portal." From that I was presented with four options.
@StuartPatterson oh nice, thanks

when pressing on autorouting magic bottom the application stops after less the one sec and says "autoroute completed, x connections not found"
Happy to help, but you are not giving me much to go on. Have you tried reinstalling it? How many connections are in your schematic? Do you have parts on the pcb? Can you wire parts in the pcb editor?
Hey Stuart, I did this project, Thanks! It works great except for one thing. If my TV shuts off, somehow the MPV resizes when the TV comes back on, and i have no way to 'maximize' it. Any thoughts?
The mpv.io site shows alt+1 to return it to the original size. Maybe that will do it?
@@StuartPatterson Thanks for the quick reply! The deployment has no kb/mouse. it just runs all day and they shut the TV off at night then back on in the morning. Maybe a script that runs periodically that maximizes.

Interesting how the the 3rd one is obviously subpar to MESR, and yet more than twice the price... Who would pay for that?!?

@@StuartPatterson Even $50 is too much for something relatively simple. I think it's priced as such only because it's much less in demand than DMMs, hence less competition.

Just found your 3 part series on BLE - fantastic tutorials which has inspired me - keep up the great work!
Thank you very much. They are a little dated now. You can use your smart phone to view BLE traffic with numerous apps and more and more traffic is being encrypted.
Has anyone tried MPV to a network drive location?
Not sure but I don’t see why it would not work.
Met Spencer at a retro computer festival at the weekend, bought a Classic II kit. Lovely guy and can't wait to get the thing built.
It is a fun project and you are right, Spencer is a great guy!

Never ending While loop will do the same thing...took me entirely too long to find why my Wemos D1 Mini was in an infinite boot loop and found that it wasn't coming out of one of the While Loops within X time. Does seem that there is a time limit as 5 seconds is too long but 3 seconds seems to be ok. Had to check to see if the while loop was continuously being run and after 3 seconds break out. Another reason I found out on the interwebs was using attachinterrupt on an ESP device, the way around this is before the Setup() function is to add void ICACHE_RAM_ATTR {name of function that will run}(); do this without the curly brackets of course.
Hmm, interesting. Thanks for letting me know!
Wow Stuart. My 91 year old dad and I bought all the supplies and ordered up the part you designed from the place in the UK you pointed us to and after getting stuck on the soldering step, we went and bought a soldering kit with a soldering iron that heated up to a higher temperature then the one we were using, and breezed right through that step and then we installed the new bulb into the Sears Automatic Super 8 projector which is just like the one you were working with and it WORKED! Our projector had burned through the lamp 3 times and we kept buying a new one and didn't understand what was going on?? Dad said he thought it had to do with amperage or something... We are so excited to now have a working projector to play the 53 Super 8 3.5 inch reels to find out what is on them from 1966-1974 and try and digitize them once we know which ones haven't been compromised by the age and are in good enough condition to still be transferred. Thank you so much for this tutorial I see nobody had commented so I wanted you to know that it has helped somebody retrieve memories that otherwise would have been lost!
Thank you very much! I am glad it helped. My friend, Ben Heckendorn, also did a project that is similar using an LED flashlight he got from Menard's. You should also check out that video since it will run much cooler. Mine gets pretty hot so keep an eye on it, please!
@@StuartPatterson Can you provide a link?
Sorry, for the late reply. For some reason RUclips did not notify me of the reply or I missed it. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/Buo1RLu5Gaw/видео.html&ab_channel=BenHeckHacks I watched it, and it is not a direct drop-in replacement for the bulb. I am working on a solution that should run cooler using an LED MR16 compatible bulb, but I don't have much to show for the results yet. We will see.
Hi Stuart! I actually did a RUclips search and found this exact video you provided the link above to... I watched most of it and realized about 5 minutes into it that it was not going to be anything I would be able to do anything with. I also found it was easier to watch with the volume off and the auto-generated subtitles on. He certainly ads a lot of extra-commentary. ;-) (and in-jokes I didn't understand..) With regard to your work-around process above: dad and I completed it when I was last visiting and then I left to go home... I am visiting again for Christmas and we will pick up the project again.. We are at the point of loading the 53 Super 8 reels onto the projector to play and see what we have that's salveagable as mentioned above... So, with that in mind, your comment about it running hot - after how long? how to know its too hot? Will it melt the film or what? Thanks Stuart!
amazing, thank you
You are welcome!
why one has to use a special BT-device to sniff, why i.e. PCs regular BT-adapter can't be used?
I don't believe you do have to use a "middle-man" device anymore. In fact, that is discussed in the comments in the videos. Notice the year when this video was created, as you would expect with technology, things have changed, become easier, more apps, more tools, etc. You can sniff BLE traffic with your phone. The separate device, in my opinion, at the time, provided a clear view of all the BLE traffic and was how Nordic Semi recommended doing it and Wireshark makes filtering the packets easy - so much so that it might still be the best way of doing it. Now? Well you decide.
If i use the raspberry pi 5 with kali linux without the adapter dongle ble it work? i would use the bluetooth integrate with the board of raspberry
No idea. You will have to give it a try and see if you can make it work.

It doesn't work for me. I have always that 45 degrees mode. UPDATE: it is working on drawing lines. Not for drawing tracks. My bad.
KiCAD 8? You press SHIFT+SPACE and release, do not hold it down. That toggles the setting between constrained and unconstrained.
I have kicad 8, I'm not holding shift+space, just pressing it. It has no effect in my case.
@@StuartPatterson I'm using version 8.0.5, I tried it in on another PC as well. It doesn't work there either. When I press Shift+Space, it toggles status in right bottom corner "Constrain to H, V, 45", but when I draw a track, it is always constrained. No matter which status I set by shift+space. How can I go about using a proximity sensor to alternate between different videos/images.
The HOW is to complex for a reply. However the project is doable, but it will take some understanding of basic electronics, and C programming on the PI. Sounds like a good project! It might also require some changes in mpv.io but the feature would make a nice pull request.

Are ceramic capacitors treated any differently than electrolytic caps as far as testing ESR?
It is my understanding that ceramic caps can still suffer from issues with ESR but it is extremely rare when compared to electrolytics.
I have seen a video that the TC1 type meters need to be calibrated before use.have you done that?
Good question. I have never calibrated one before and have not looked inside one to see how it could be done. Maybe I should.
Can you do a comparison between Antek blue ear vs this one ? How close are the readings ( out of circuit & in circuit )
That is a great idea but I don’t currently own the Anatek Blue ESR meter. If that changes in the future I will certainly compare them.
is it just me that thinks it's weird that the high LED points down and the low LED points up? thank you for the video btw
