Thank you for this. I'm from the area and I'm gong to check it out today.
Literally took the biggest whipper on this today 😂😂😂
😱😱😱 it ain’t called Learning to Fly for nothing. 😉 But big props for taking it on!!! 🤙🤙
I want there this past Tuesday, all alone lol not a soul in sight which was awesome for some alone time. The view at bald knob is amazing.
Awesome that you got it all to yourself. And yes that view is 💯
Good job :)
Thank you! I’ve made some decent progress since this climb.
Expecting new hikes bro, its long since - Thanks for posting good review about this park
I know it’s been a while. Been a bit busy these days but I’ve got some fun things planned. Thanks for watching!
Expecting new hikes bro, its long since - Thanks for posting good review about this park
I'm hiking the Echo Mountain trail this upcoming Saturday for the first time, i did the Mt. Wilson and the Bailey Canyon trails and they were both hard trails to do.
You’re going to like Echo Mountain! Be sure to scream “echo” into the mega phone up top!
@@MichaelShepherdJordan it most certainly was a challenging hike to accomplish! My starting point was at the Cobb Estate on the Sam Merrill Trail. You went a different path when you went. Alright, Happy Hiking bro!
@@Nick_Ramirez89 glad you did it! Happy hiking to you too my friend 🤙
Thanks for the video. I plan on taking my son this weekend.
Of course! Enjoy. It’s a pretty cool place.
Nice send!
Need a hiking partner? Can't never find anyone who shares my passion for nature.
I mostly go solo. Generally because I go last minute and film makes for a lot of stops and starts. Really appreciate the offer though! If you’re looking for a partner there are some great FB groups: Missouri Hiking & Outdoors and Ozark Trail Section Hikers come to mind.
Looks like an awesome place for a hike and exploring
It’s pretty beautiful!
Great video! Was just there last July. My dad took me and said he would go there when he was a teen and there wasn’t a trail yet, back in the 60’s. The actual spring is down from a cave a little ways, not too far, but you can see where it is bubbling out of the ground. I also assumed it came out from the cave.
How cool your dad used to go there pre trail! Pretty awesome. Thank you for letting me know where the actual spring is!
Did you go down to black’s beach while you were over there?
Didn’t get the chance to get over there this time unfortunately
interesting video
Glad you think so!
You made a video!
Been making a few lately!
@MichaelShepherdJordan good for you! I've been playing with shooting some videos recently. editing isn't very fun... keep it up!
@@CrazyCamo editing is always the hardest part. It does get easier over time. Personally I hate editing on a phone, I much prefer a computer. You can do some pretty great things with iMovie.
I live in MO and looking for some trails. Thanks for showing your hike. This trail is high on my list because of it's proximity.
Of course! Thanks for watching. You’ll love Whispering Pines. It’s one of my top 5 favorites in the state
@@MichaelShepherdJordan Is the Whispering Pines a smaller section of the Ozark Trail?
Sadly no. It’s just a trail in Hawn State Park. A beautiful trail though!
Mudlick Hike trail at Sam A Baker State Park is one of my favorites. About 3 miles into the hike there will be a 3 way intersection, you’ll want to take the north linear section up the mountain for beautiful views
Oh nice! I’ve hiked Mudlick to the fire tower. There was a great bluff view along the way I remember. I think by one of the shelters. ruclips.net/video/V6YCcpH-4r0/видео.htmlsi=ANVEchj6r1VeihaT
This whole place was is amazing man. Bravo for this video, flawless editing and storytelling!
It certainly is amazing! Thank you for the kind words friend
If you want to learn more about hiking Volcan Mountain Trail and see all the photos check out my blog: www.michaelshepherdjordan.com/other-states/hiking-volcan-mountain-trail-in-southern-california
Some beautiful shots in this one
Thank you! It was one of those hikes where you point the camera and the landscape does all the work. But I truly appreciate you saying that!
Me encanta los volcanes
Despite the name, it's actually not a volcano. There are several different stories on how the mountain got it's name from Spanish explorers, to a Mexican land grant, to potentially a rancher named Vaulcan who lived there. All that being said, volcanoes are pretty awesome!
That looks like an awesome hike. I love the SD area. Damn I want a potato chip right now. Gotta maintain that healthy BMI though.. 😔
It was pretty awesome. I love being back in Cali for a bit. And I’d say you can have a chip, just not a whole bag of chips, which is always my problem 😂😂
What kind of potato chip do you think Potato Chip Rock looks like?
This is my back yard! I just did this peak for the second time this season. Glad you enjoyed. Good video, i like the drone footage.
It was such a great experience! I’m jealous. You live in a pretty amazing part of the world. Thank you for watching!
What a great video you shared I'm happy to see it
I’m glad you like it! Really appreciate you watching
Spent some time in Montana way back in the 80's up in the mountains and went to Lake Mc Donald, and St Mary's Lake and Glacier National Park....prettiest place on earth!! So neat they're doing this trip! Love the video! Thanks for sharing.
It was certainly beautiful! Wish I could have spent more time there, but I’m super grateful we got to go. Definitely want to go back. Glad you like the video. Thank you so much for watching!
🤘🏽💪🏽👍👍
🤙🤙
Fantastic video. Breathtaking views. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks for sharing. subbd & 👍4
Thank you! Really glad you liked it. It was certainly an awesome hike. Appreciate the sub!
This is awesome!!! So beautiful 😍
It was an amazing hike! Hard but well worth it
What's the highest peak you've hiked?
Love this trail. Low effort high reward. We like to take the family to devils honeycomb, elephant rock, and pilot knob all on the same day with a break at the Caledonia mercantile for ice cream and treats.
That sounds like an awesome day trip! And I agree, Devils Honeycomb really is high reward
Going there in a couple of weeks. Can't wait.
You’re going to love it!
Watching from Texas ❤
Hello! Thanks you for watching
What is the name of that trail?
River Scene Trail
@MichaelShepherdJordan thank you so much for info. Appreciate
Of course!
Thank you going there for first time in 3 weeks
Enjoy it! It’s one of my favorites close to STL
Nice video! Hopefully you can get back and send it soon!
Once the weather turns I’m sure we’ll get back out there!
I ran the Devil's Toll half marathon from Taum Sauk to Johnson Shut-ins thru the scour field. Without a doubt the most physically challenging half I've ever done. I love our trails, especially in the late fall and winter. The views across the hills and ridges when the leaves are down are pure eye candy. Thanks for your great videos; I'm sure they inspire others to go exploring the beauty that is Missouri.
😮 what an epic half marathon! Congratulations to you for completing that. Seriously awesome accomplishment. I’m glad you enjoy the videos!
I hiked up to the first shelter a couple months ago, took a few minutes at the overlook, and as i turned around to see where the trail went past the shelter caught a glimpse of a black bear about 200ft away as he turned to go back down the other side of the hill. Right where you were pointing towards mudlick trail. Decided that was enough for the day.
Pretty awesome you got to see a black bear! I haven’t seen one yet in Missouri. Used to see them all the time growing up in Tennessee in the Smokys. Black bears are the more skiddish and gentle of our bear friends, as long as there are no cubs around haha
Hope you took the time while in Branson to see this waterfall. It about 15 minutes from where you were.
Which waterfall??

Great video! We are new to the area and will definitely be visiting this trail. The graffiti was a bit scary, if you’re gonna graffiti a cave please make the theme nature and not clowns! You don’t see many clowns in nature 🤔 and I’m glad! Keep up the great videos🙋🏼♀️
Thank you! I appreciate you watching. I’ve found some pretty amazing trails all over Missouri in my exploring. I know you will too. The more I look at the graffiti the more I’m finding myself feeling compassion for them, particularly all the “it hurts.” Add the clowns and skulls and I feel like something was going on there. I hope it’s better for them.
Awesome trail. I hate that people spray painted that cave like a middle school Halloween art project but I guess it is what it is..
It is a cool trail. The spray paint is certainly disappointing, but the more I look at and see all of the “It hurts” I’m finding myself feeling compassion for them. I hope whatever was going on in their lives is better now.
Nice trail here great video
Appreciate it! It is a cool trail
Cool trail. That waterfall looked amazing. Such a shame some trash gaffiti'd the cave.
It was a good trail and yes I was blown away by the waterfall. Not sure if it’s wet weather only but I was grateful it was flowing. I know what you mean about the cave. Maybe in 10k years it’ll be art 🤷♂️
Have you hiked Lakeside Bluff Trail in Branson? Was I right in thinking the second cave is Old Soldier's Cave??
Have you done Pickle Springs CA? There are a couple beautiful high places there too.
CA as in California? I have not been there. But I have been to Pickle Springs down by Hawn State Park. I did a recent video on Trail Through Time: ruclips.net/video/5acTftjMZ58/видео.htmlsi=mTFsoQ3TbhEqbaYS
I was there back in March, enjoyed the trail. Thanks for the video.
It was a good one! Thanks for watching
At the base of Bell mountain, where it meets the base of Lindsay Mtn, is a beautiful Shut ins creek
Ooo!! Nice. Love a good hidden shut-ins
Flowers like that are signs of old homesteads. If you are lucky or know where to look, you may find an old well or cistern
Very cool!
Hughes Mountain has almost 360⁰ views, and is on a unique geologic feature.. it is made up of hexagon columns (similar to Giants causeway in Ireland). Also on Taum Sauk Mountain trail go 1 mile on the trail has an awesome view that includes a full view of the Taum Sauk Reservoir power plant
Thank you for these insights! I’ve hiked to Devils Honeycomb. It’s pretty amazing
Great video, your camera really picks up the colors of the Missouri woods after a spring rain!
Thank you! It was wet but it made everything pop for sure
