I just realized how this whole movie is a metaphor for systemic oppression. Torrance inherits a problem that she was ignorant of, but also benefitted from. Instead of making excuses or getting defensive, she goes out there and tries to do better and make things right. She doesn't do things perfectly but she learns from her mistakes and keeps working at it. She has vision and wants to fix it, not only because it's wrong, but also because what's the point of competing if you're not trying your hardest and competing against the best? Torrance loves competing against the Clovers because it elevates her team's performance too and pushes them to be better. She doesn't want the lazy win.They need a sequel that features stomp n shake cheer, with Torrance and Isis as coaches. Isis would need way more screen time in part 2!

Tim thinks that the calmer person wins the argument and we can't see how angry he is just because he doesn't raise his voice. You know all he thought about during their break-up was cameras. It was different story when they were alone. When alex brought up him yelling he said that his voice carries like he thinks we didn't hear him speak before
