Being INTP feels like a gift and a curse, we have sparks of genius in between long bouts of meaningless endeavors. The struggle with hedonism can be pretty rough too. I didn't think of myself as hedonistic until i understood it a little better. I thought i was an intellectual but i don't get down like a college professor, i am probably more like a gentleman and a scholar or an eccentric emo nerd. Be careful with your vice and virtue, apathy and attention are things we struggle with but its also hard to guage something like that probably. You might just want to lean into your beliefs or mindset to become greater. I have struggled with emotional problems and i would recommend getting in touch with your feelings and learning how to deal with emotions better because they can cause big problems. We dont operate like a lot of people and we get ostracized so be careful how you tread. I think its hard to find a good place to be as INTP in this system because it can feel like its rigged to keep us down. I guess everyone has to figure it out. Good luck INTP 😊

We are not per se doomed to the fate of our dominant inclinations. However, the only victory, as you said comes through integration, which is difficult and against our self obsessed fallen urge, and thus most fail to suceed to much degree. This is one of the reasons (among many) why God challenges us so strongly here below. If we reject the love behind his strong hand (as our generation so fatally does), we will stagnate and rot; a decrepitude begun here which worsens forever. Agency is a severe gift

But yeah….. this experience encapsulates the entirety of dating an INTP, for better or worse. My advice: find an E NTJ or an INTJ and they will endure those and still value you. Good luck

I remember (vaguely, I read it a decade ago) Rousseau recounting a story about his friend, who was contemplating adopting a young girl (a 12-year-old) with the intention of grooming her to be his future lover. Rousseau warned his _friend_ that he would likely develop genuine affection for her, which could make a future physical relationship impossible. Then he says that's exactly what ended up happening. Everything about Graham’s demeanor makes me recoil and think he’s so fake or emotionally leaking. Logically, I get he is probably a nice guy, but my personality type is quite different from his.
