Class A tanker driver
Hell part 2 Port of Miami
Monday January 13, 2025 not a big ship day so things should go smooth no problems right, NO NOT HAPPENING to start with the gangway is broke down at the entrance gate then have to get turned around so once again have to back up a long distance to find a spot wide enough, I’m struggling to find a spot so I had to just do it and hope for the best without going in the water, get turned around and to make things worst it rains, another typical day of being a truck driver #portofmiami #port #cruiseship #carnival #carnivalcruises #trucking #trucker #truckdriver #miami #miamidade #behindthescene #Norwegian

That has got to be the stupidest set up i have ever seen whos brain storm was that! Another reason to hate florida....
Agreed it’s a total cluster f*ck
Sorry haven’t posted anything, everyone at home is sick except little man, he have a cough, lucky him, I hope to get a video up soon
Amazing! What a long reverse! I'm @ 44 minutes and amazed you've not needed to pull forward to correct, not once! 😮😮🎉🎉 Even with all the double bb brains around.
Aww, f', then you needed to turn!
Thank you, I been out sick hope to get a video up soon but I appreciate you watching and commenting
Thanks for bringing us the new camera angles.
Your welcome, I only have 2 cameras hopefully 1 day I can get more but I appreciate you watching and commenting
Such a poorly designed port.
It is and anyone that don’t know the port will be lost, we see cars going wrong way against traffic all the time, thank you for watching and commenting
I watched my new neighbor across the street try to back up a U-Haul truck for about an hour. Finally, I offered to do it for him. He told me he didn't need any help. About an hour later I heard a lot of noise outside. There was a big tow truck pulling the U-Haul out of the ditch. You did a great job backing up that truck! You are truly a professional truck driver!...🍀
Sounds like the movie a man called Otto with Tom Hanks lol but actually smaller trailers, boats etc are harder to back up than the longer trailers but I love your compliment so thank you very much and I appreciate you watching and commenting
Great stuff.
Thank you I appreciate it
Glad you liked it I appreciate you watching
Just stumbled on your channel. Very very interesting! I subbed too.
I’m glad you enjoyed thank you for watching, commenting and subscribing I appreciate that
I guess Stop signs aren't mandatory in Florida anymore?
It’s south Florida but they are always hiring police officers, being you are already one you should transfer here
Cruised from Miami many times and just wait till the luggage starts coming out! That pier gonna be HOPPIN' !What were you hauling/delivering to the ship Bill???
That ship I was getting oily water from the engine room, we take it to a treatment facility they separate the water from the oil and recycle the oil, thanks for watching and commenting
@@WLeon3350 What are your usual loads? What you did with this run I never heard of before.
We get our loads from the ship, could be bilge water, oily water, lube oil, economizer water it all depends what the ship request, typically it’s oily water, it’s waste oil/water from them burning bunker fuel which they can only burn in international waters, bunker fuel is a tar like oil but it’s cheaper to burn than diesel fuel
It's insane the amount of coordination on all front's working any job dealing with cruise lines. A job truly not made for everyone. From the truck drivers, to the staff of specific ships, fork lift drivers, porters, security, all the way down to the janitor custodian cleaning the bathrooms and taking out the trash. I will say this though, the adrenaline rush and thrill going into work every day sure is worth it. It's the type of job you can be proud of by being given the privilege to be able to handle it. Pretty damn cool to think the hard work done puts smiles on those families heading out on vacation.
That does make it all worth it, many are first time cruisers and it’s a experience they will never forget, thank you for watching and commenting
@@WLeon3350 Welcome man, I appreciate you. I do janitorial work at the cruise terminals over in Cape Canaveral. I respect you guys a lot. I'm always picking up debris on the way when I do my trash runs so truckers over there don't get screws/ nails in their tires. Every bit of help goes a long way.
I’ve worked ships in Port Canaveral many times, my company works them daily but sometimes they have more loads than that local office can handle and we come up and help, definitely appreciate you getting stuff up that punctures our tires, that’s the worst to have a flat tire
Had me on the edge of my seat during that turn.😅
You and me both I didn’t like that turnaround at all, thank you for watching and commenting
What do you haul to the cruise ships do they pay you or your company directly
We are there getting oil or water with oil in it from the engine room on the ship, they pay my company, thank you for watching and asking
Easy to see an expirienced truck driver like this man, many can't back their rigs up especially to a dock. Great driving skills my man.
Thank you I appreciate that, this job definitely test the boundaries of backing up and we have to be quick, people are impatient and want us to hurry up and be out of their way, I appreciate you watching and commenting
Norwegian jewel right that you are close to
That was the Norwegian Gem
what they use all them high lifts for .. window cleaning ????/
No when they need to make any repairs, usually rust around windows or wherever else, salt water creates allot of issues but the ships stay on top of it, also repairs on which side of the ship also determines If they come in port side or starboard side, it’s just scheduled maintenance, good question thank you for watching and commenting
Some smooth driving there.
Thank you I appreciate that, gets very stressful at times and you saw 1 of those moments, thank you for watching and commenting
You may already know this by now. But I believe this may be why things was so jumbled as far as ships being in unusual terminals. I went out on the Celebration the next day after this on the 12th. There was a person on my cruise that was doing a back to back, with my cruise being the back half. They said there was a medical emergency onboard and the Celebration had to come into port a day early, on the very day of this video, to drop off a passenger and then go back out until the following day for there scheduled return day.
No I actually did not know that but thank you for telling me it explains allot, we are all so use to medical that we don’t even think about it, I didn’t work today 1/26/2025 but had a coworker call saying something serious was going on the carnival horizon and again it’s a community on the water, I love carnival and I don’t speak for or represent them, things happen on every ship I appreciate you watching and commenting
That’s bs hope the power to be at port see this
That’s part of the reason I post videos, they have no clue what we go through dockside, thank you for watching and commenting
Thanks for the video...its nice to see what goes on behind scene to keep these ships going..my wife and siblings cruise out of miami 4 times a year or so,just left out yesterday on the Magic
Wow yesterday magic was in terminal F I was in terminal E, never know might catch a view of me when it comes back, thank you for watching and commenting I love seeing people come and go from a great cruise, I saw allot of equipment being put on the magic, not sure if it was sound, video or performance please let me know it was a whole tractor trailer load, the video of equipment will be in my next video
What was next to the two explora on the water side
That is a bunker fuel barge, the ship is taking on bunker fuel which is a very thick tar like oil that the ship switches over to instead of diesel fuel when they get in international waters, it’s cheaper than diesel fuel, good eye and great question
My heart was pounding for you! lol. As a retired driver turn instructor I used to love it out there. Now these days I will pull out on the road in my pickup and immediately have an annoying tailgater on my A%&...Good attitude and patience like yours will assure an enjoyable healthy retirement. Thank you for the great videos!
My son would love it if I got into the instructional teaching or get into safety but I love what I do, I have foster kids and my job bends over backwards making sure I’m available for them, I do work for a great company, not saying I don’t have bad days but from the owner down they are very supportive, I know you miss trucking though, it’s in our blood, thank you for watching and commenting
I just came across your channel today. I can't believe how skilled and calm you remained during this whole process. I salute you.
I’m so glad you came across my videos, calm not really I was very stressed, last thing I want is to be in a accident dockside and it does happen, I do push myself to be good, but definitely not the best but I push myself to be up there, thank you for watching and commenting
How do you tell what space is where your ship is on the dock
Good question we go to this web site bbpilots.com/ and it tells us what terminal and if it will be port side or starboard side and what the expected time of arrival and we can track the ship on www.vesselfinder.com/ so when I park next to the parking garage I’m tracking the ship and I can see it coming in or if it’s still out, thanks for watching great question
@WLeon3350 Thanks for information I like seeing these videos
my father in law would have loved your vids.. lifelong truck driver, in WW two he drove army trucks on the Burma Road ,getting shot at often.. when he got out of the service, he got a truck driving job for one of the big grocery chains, and in those days every truck had three guys in the truck, two helpers. When he would come home from work, people carried money and pocket change in those days. My wife would greet her daddy at the door when he came home from work on time same time every night, which is unusual for a truck driver and he would give her all his change for her piggy banks. Those piggy banks were filled before 1961. She still has those 2 football sized piggy banks filled with change here in 2025. She won’t even let me catalog the coins in them. She acts like I’m gonna put them in a parking meter or a bubblegum machine. I love your videos, you don’t yak too much, you don’t have music, you don’t have childish, cartoon graphics, you get right to the point right from the start
Thank you I appreciate that, yeah it’s a shame back then we didn’t have technology to document things, my step father who recently passed he drove up till he got sick, but now everyone wish he had documented some of his journeys and that’s how I got started doing this so my kids and my foster kids have something to look back at, you better leave that change alone lol, thank you for watching and commenting
So relieved that you made it.😅 Obviously or we wouldn’t be watching this video. Your driving skill is superb. Like the explanations you give us when something happens. Would be nice to see another pic of your truck. I am too far away in the world to ever take one.😂
Thank you I appreciate the kind words and I’ll get a better picture lol thank you for watching
I really enjoy your videos. I too am a truck driver, 27 years. I work for Sunbelt Rentals in Northern Indiana. I deliver heavy equipment like the green, and sometimes orange, boom lifts that you drive past on the dock. I will be sailing out of Miami again in 4 weeks and I will be keeping an eye out for you and your truck.
Yes I’m familiar with sunbelt you guys go in crazy places as well, if you catch a picture send it and add to 1 of my videos thanks for watching and commenting
After watching your last 'nightmare' I can't help thinking back how much time was wasted backing down, coming back up, finding a u turn spot. I know Carnival at least have a Cb radio on board in the Pursers Office, they use it to talk with tour operators on shore before they come into port. Maybe your company could sort something out so you know where you need to be ahead of time . The bridge could communicate to the office what side to in port . It just needs solid communication . Maybe you didn't know this little fact as the idiots in the logistics office don't realise , like you say, they don't think of your logistics when you get alongside, just get it done . Be proactive.
You are right I appreciate you watching and commenting
@WLeon3350 15 years working on ships mate. But thinking about it. It wouldnt make for a good vid if it all worked I guess lol
Exactly
We cruise out of Miami a lot, 1 or 2 times a month. I’ll have to look for the truck now. Thx for the behind the scenes look, always wondered how all those trucks got in there….
That’s cool yes definitely if you catch a picture I’ll add it to 1 of my videos, thanks for watching and commenting
You handled it awesome!!!
Thank you, definitely got a little stressful on the turn around thank you for watching and commenting

awesome video.. Thank you and be safe
Thank you I appreciate that have a great weekend thanks for watching and commenting
"MAYBE we won't go for a swim this morning"💀😅 I'm wondering if there were such incidents in the past
I know a driver hit a forklift trying to U-turn and busted his fuel tank dumping allot of fuel, often times port of Miami is very stressful, thank you for watching and commenting
@WLeon3350 i wish you have more protection at the dock, stay safe🙏🏻
This is really cool to be able to see the behind the scenes of things thanks for sharing. Also dumb question but what are you hauling??
Not a dumb question I am there to get oil or oily water from the engine room, sometimes we get oil, bilge water, oily water or economizer water, I’m glad you enjoyed thank you for watching and commenting
What a beautiful view leaving the port 👍🏼
It definitely is, that’s 1 of my favorite views to see, thank you for watching and commenting I’m glad you enjoyed it
I thought you was gonna go swimming again. They should make an area just for trucks to turn around
Yes I wish I had more cameras to actually show what’s going on behind the truck, back of my tanker was so close to the cement columns I actually thought it was going to hit, I appreciate you following my videos and commenting
Been to Miami port twice too aboard the ship ⚓ Always like to see the behind the scenes always like your content Thanks for sharing🚢
Your very welcome, before I worked for this job I would cruise and was always curious as well, thank you for watching and commenting
What do you deliver to the port of Miami? Was your delivery for the NCL Gem?
He is picking up oil, water ect
@@mikes7639absolutely I was, you know what’s up lol
Yes and like Mike commented to you I was there to get oily water from the engine room
@@WLeon3350 You take it from the cruise ships? You do one ship each time?
@@Wild19951 load each ship, sometimes we might have 1 load that day or 2 loads and the 2 loads could be the same ship or different ships, another great question
Thanks William.
Your very welcome I appreciate you watching have a great weekend
Serious question. Why in most videos are there medical personnel dockside?
People get sick it’s a community on the water, there are allot of elder on cruises, things happen, people even pass away on cruises which if I had to go that’s a great way to go it just sucks for the family but yeah like any city people get sick, great question thank you for watching
@ ahh. Now I understand. Thank u
Wow ! You back like a champion the cops are dicks . As far as safety goes somebody from the port should spot for trucks.
How long is your trailer driver?
It’s about 45’ long and my truck is a sleeper truck so it’s longer than the day cabs but I love the space in the sleeper truck, great question thanks for watching
This was my first time watching your Videos. I was stressed right along with you.😓At the end of the Video my anxiety was up and my stomach was hurting.!!!! You are a very good Truck Driver to park your truck right on the edge like that, I couldn't and wouldn't have done that. The other workers around there are very disrespectful.😡 They saw you were trying to maneuver your truck and they didn't get out of your way. You are better than me, because I would have cussed them out.🗣️😡
I use to let that road rage anger out now I’m learning it’s not worth allowing someone that don’t really matter to piss me off and I take that home with me but I still sometimes get those that push me over the edge lol another video coming online tomorrow not as hectic but still crazy in the beginning, thank you for watching and commenting
I’ve had my CDL class A for 29 years and I know full well that driving in a city or on Clearwater beach during spring break sucks! As we used to say in the Marines, that was a soup sandwich!
I was driving age 16 got my commercial license at age 17 then they came out with the new CDL and everyone had to renew their license, been driving 36 or 37 years, I still love it but of course not everyday is a good day especially in south Florida, thank you for watching and commenting
1:21:53 The Carnival Sunrise, better known as the Carnival Triumph AKA the 💩cruise ship! Had a fire and lost engines out in the gulf for many days until they could get tugs out there to haul it back. With no power, or way to cook, the USCG had to drop food to the deck, ie poptarts etc. They had no water or sewer services either, so bags had to be used. What a mess that was! 🤦♂🤷♂
I do remember that, things happen like a vehicle they break down it’s just now everyone have phones and social media, I see problems on every ship and when I cruise I’m looking for the bargain but I’ll say I never been on a royal Caribbean I would love to go on 1 hopefully soon but without a doubt I’ve been on carnival and we were treated 1st class, we left a very nice tip we had no complaints
That’s absolutely ridiculous expecting you to reverse that distance. Is that the end of the dock or could you have backed up even further? Absolute respect to you and what you do 👍🏼 I see now from watching to the end that you could have been asked to reverse further?
Yes that was about half the length and many times especially when terminal v the Virgin terminal was under construction we have had to back the entire length, thank you for watching and commenting
Love seeing the ships and you manover your semi in all that narrow space .they never built that port thinking of all the trucks that have to come in and service the ships all they thought of at the time and still do is the MONEY.I would already be insane just from the traffic much less all the stress getting to where you need to be in port.very good driveing and nerves of steel.
Thank you I appreciate that, ships have gotten bigger and Port of Miami, all ports actually are trying to make it work and it does get challenging, I appreciate you watching and commenting
I want to subscribe but I don't see the place is it in the bottem left hanb of the video? If so then I subscribed 😅
It’s under the video on the right side, if it doesn’t say subscribe you may have subscribed already, I appreciate you subscribing and checking out my videos
@WLeon3350 have you ever gone on a cruise on one of these big o ships??
You handled that long back up like the champ you are.the company should pay you more.
Excellent driving😊
Thank you I appreciate that and thank you for watching
