Ideal Windlass removal

It took 3 months to finally remove this windlass from S/V Faith, the capstan, gypsie and 12 volt motor worked fine but the vertical drive shaft wouldn't turn freely. Ideal stated that it's not repairable and will need to be replaced. Initial attempts were fruitless using oil, heat and a hammer. Completed the transmission in 3 days! Painted and ready to install. Now we are anchored in French Polynesia and the gearbox is working perfectly!
If they worked for me I would have fired them 3 months ago.
How much does it weigh?
They are just around 145# with gear reduction unit.

Crazy corrosion! Never thought id see a hacksaw taken to a mast but it works apparently! I like the little pop up at the beginning! Very professional. Overall a nice short video that gets to the point!
