Man, I had such a bright and fun experience with this book, Again but Better. It had some odd parts but for the first book of probably many for this author. I enjoyed it a lot.

Reading "How She Died, How I lived" with and very open mind.

Reading this book has shown me a very interesting perspective on trauma and loss. It has its corny and cheesy moments, but the plot is something that can be very real for others. This is why reading is so important and I enjoy sharing my experiences with you all. Take the time to read "How she died, how I lived" Its worth the read.
I've been reading "The Assassin's Blade" I'm not emotionally stable anymore

With Sara J. Maas being a big reason I love fictional stories I wanted to open my channel with her Throne Of Glass series, starting with The Assassin's Blade. If you haven't read this book be ready to cry your heart out and If you have read this book... I'm sorry to make you cry again.
I'm a big fan of the movie so I thought finally I could get the book I love coraline 🥰
Coraline theories are so scary
This book review is too good. Thank you for the lots of information. Kudos!
May I suggest reading the real story of Sayuri. It's called Geisha of Gion. That is the real testamony of mineko Iwasaki who Golden interviewed for his movie/book. The woman he interviewed actually sued him for defermation because she asked not to be credited and she wrote Geisha to correct all the crap he had written.
Thank you so much for that recommendation. I will go and find that book now. That is insane the way the author twisted the narrative. Thank you!
The movie had a running time of 2h 40min so cuts had to be made. The movie was a bit more more romantic than the book but is still a worthwhile watch. In the time frame of the book Japan was still relatively poor and in a early state of industrial development so many were not as refined as westerners think the Japanese were. A companion piece of sorts to Memoirs is Giacomo Puccini's opera Madama Butterfly which was based on a similar practice called the Nagasaki brides or the Japanese temporary wives where for a set price for a set time a woman would act as a wife for men visiting the country. Butterfly is based on one of those types of marriages gone wrong. Both had the same theme, women who made a living by being companions. I have Madama Butterfly (w/English subtitles) uploaded on my account here. Warning: Despite the fact I have ads turned off RUclips may run them anyway because they can.
I've seen the film, now i'm going to listen to the audiobook. The Geisha life is similar to a Victorian lady and a Ballet dancer, that they schooled from a young age in the arts, and have to abide by very strict rules.
I just finished it and I had a problem with the exact same things you mentioned. It's a problematic story but worth the read though.
It definetly puts you in the mind set of how she thinks and I felt so invasive and shell shocked in a culture I had no Idea about.
@@ivebeenreading4806 and if you read his book and watched the film then you still have no idea about the real life of geisha. They are fantasy, nothing more. Go read Geisha of Gion. That's authentic.
I have the book scare me and I was wondering what it was about
I definitely recommend it. :)
This helped a lot thank u
I just listened to the audiobook this morning and I loved it. The author is the narrator which made it even better. I have to admit, I was a little scared here and there.
It irks me, even more, when my child always grabs Coraline from my bookshelf. It has definitely been a book that's stayed with me.
That is so sad how she daid
where in the book did it say victor hit rufus with his car? I just assumed it ends with rufus walking to althea park waiting to die 🥺
I just finished this and I love it
It definitely left me wanting to read more.
@polandbananasBOOKS

Great job on this review Joelle! I really enjoyed hearing everything you had to say about the book while you were reading it. Even though I know what the book is about and How It Ends LOL, I'm still going to read it on my own 😁
