Now that I have my antenna up, it is time to check the SWR to make sure my radio is working efficiently and not going to burn out my finals. The lower the ratio the. better. I like how Solorcon pre-tunes these antennas to work on the 11-meter band. Once good ground is established less chance of going up and down the ladder spinning the tuning rings to get that ratio down.

I used to be into CB radios 30 - 40 years ago. I was helping a neighbor troubleshoot his CB radio that wasn't transmitting on his new RV. After hearing some chatter on the radio, I decided to dust off my old base station gear and set it back up.

This is a fun marker for plinking with in the backyard. If I were to pay close to the same amount for a marker for self-defense, I would choose Salt Supply 2 since it hits much harder.

I was having doubts about the chronograph that I am using which is not exactly top drawer but the price was under 40 USD on Amazon. "Ballistic Precision Chronograph, Slingshot Bullet Bow Velocity Speed Tester with MPS/FPS Joules Readings Brand: GENERIC" I will use everything OEM on the HDP 50 Compact as a controlled test. 360 FPS is the magic number.

I will try the Salt Supply using the Duke Glass Breakers instead of the generic balls that seemed a little smaller. Tossed a few shots from my Byrna LE also using the Duke rounds just for chits and giggles to see how they compare.
New HDS upgraded to 16 Joules.

I think you will see slightly higher fps of you let the gun warm up to atmospheric temperature for 5 min after you pop the co2 cartridge, although you aren't going to have the time to do that in a home defence senario

Best thing to do when there's a lightning storm is unplugged my coax I do it all the time and unplug my power supply so it don't come up into the house I forgot to unplug a paper shredder the other day and it burned up so got to get a new one

I had did some shots on my hdp 50 compact today and it seems to shoot good, I had some issues with trigger sticking at first and used some silicone spray to lube it and it's better, I have seen videos where it hits 420ish on first few shots than drop to around 400 upper 300sfps on second load then it drops alot by 15th shot, it's suppose to be a lil stronger than hdp 50 unmodified, I hope mines hit 420, idk because I don't have a chrony but it was loudest on first 8 shots then it was getting weaker on 10th shot, great gun if working properly, Id say after 2 refills it's not gonna have much power after!

How has the Mission 4 been holding up since you bought it? I've seen a few people comment in other videos that the more they used theirs, the better it got as the internals loosened up.
I have that same chrono...I think it reads wrong and is off by 20j. That sounds more powerful than the numbers the chrono is reading. Nice test man 🫡
The Gavle is a beast of a handheld launcher. The Grimburg Solstice should be out sometime in 2025 last we heard and were hoping it'll be on display at ShotShow 2025. It'll be interesting to see how the magnetic detent works and if you'll still be able to use non magnetic rounds in it.
So the LTL Charlie is goingto be released at the end of the month. It's a more powerful version of the Alfa/Bravo and will be using an actual magazine for the rounds. Hopefully it'll be in North America by the Fall according to Chiappa depending on distribution to thier resalers.

I've been having so much fun with my Homewrecker 40 HDX the past few weeks. It's a beast as you obviously know LoL. I still haven't tried the Coconut test, but one day I will. I can just see it ricocheting back and hitting me. The only thing I didn't like was the tiny iron sights, so I bought a red dot sight for it. One thing I did notice is that Byrna Kinetics don't fit in the HDX... They get jammed an inch or so down the barrel so I have to use a dowel to push them back to the loading slot to remove them.
Would you say that the 40 joules HDX 68 is enough for home defense and taking a person down?
@@Rooseveltdunn definitely... A 40 Joule 4.6 gram round will punch holes in coconuts and that's a light round

these balls I found out after I fired them were paintballs at 0.5 grams. maybe being so light had something to do with low numbers.
@@bretthighbee oh men yes I bought some paintballs and theyre too light, they go all over the place. Curve badly.
You can remove the back key pretty easy with the same mag. To avoid that I just use my HDR allen key.

@@MultiSkyman1 I notice people's results vary. not sure why. It might be an environmental thing, a CO2 brand, and a projectile type. The nice thing was that the power remained consistent.

Im getting 13.8 joules as the highest shot in my EP. I don't drop into the the high10s until my 9th or 10th shot 🤔 Maybe its because its too cold where your at...

What happened?? I got my S2 a couple days ago and only shot it a few times until the follower came out of the track of the magazine. I fixed it, but it took some careful disassembling as there are some small parts and spring involved. Just ordered another mag for it too.
I am not sure what happened to cause my follower to jump out of the track and get stuck like that. Possibly it hit my finger that was gripping the magazines it passed by it when I was loading the balls. I took a flat-tip screwdriver, carefully pried the tabs back in the track, and got it working again. Now I will take a quick look to be sure everything is in place after loading it up again. It's not a big deal to me if I know to look for it next time.

If I put one of each in my hand. close my eyes and shuffle the balls around. I would not be able to tell the difference. they look, feel, and weigh the same.
Good choice. I also have the Salt Supply S2 and the Byrna LE. They are both great launchers.
yeah, it is a fun one. I recommend it to someone on a budget looking for some reliable protection. I did not need the S2 but wanted to test drive the new model on the market.

Yes that happens. You have to just wiggle it with your finger a bit. It guys back into place easy. You can avoid it by just pushing balls into the mag and not pulling it down
