Dude, the wax he coated it with is hydrophobic. I agree the scene cut could be misleading, but when I saw the water that stayed on it bead up, I knew it couldn't get wet.

@@GrimSoulBanisher Thanks for your clarification. If you drop water on wax, it doest not det wet. The same method applied in this video ( this firestarter do not get wet even if you drop inside water.

Actually some students need a long point for art works. For them this idea is useful

@diyinventor_ I appreciate your DIY initiative and me myself like tinkering, but I also have drawn many pencil and charcoal drawings and never learned to or utilized the method of over sharpening a basic pencil for any piece I did. Always used thicker, stronger rods of charcoal for anything needing extra shading. If it makes you happy and somehow saves you time and/or money, go for it. But I still don't see the practicality. Will snap on first bit of pressure. Nonetheless, enjoy!
