Happy to share my personal video album of selected adventures, interesting things, and fun content. Not interested in monetization, gimmicks, "branding", or thumbs. Watch it to learn something, or zone out while eating soup.
Scuba videos are of the "here's what I saw" variety. They are unvarnished and detailed captures of underwater life and conditions at popular dive locations. These videos are distinctly not of the "best of" variety that consist of just a few minutes of quick clips of pretty fish, gorgeous corals, and fetching divers. Consider them as resources to help you decide on a dive location or as a basis for comparing your experience at these places.

Scuba Diving Abu Dabab, Red Sea, Egypt
An extensive and diverse, interesting, and pretty dive location with varied soft corals and mostly healthy hard corals adorning isolated pillars and hard coral towers. Other parts of the reef feature sponge-lined swim-throughs and large expanses of porites coral.

An evening scuba dive in Puerto Galera's Sabang Bay at 10m to 20m depths. Some of the coral was filmed with a low-power UV light. All wildlife harassed by local guides and supervising local dive masters.

This relatively shallow reef is a short boat ride from Safaga. Dive conditions on this day in early November 2023 were quite good and resulting visibility, excellent. This reef, located a short distance from Roatan's West End, is notable for its healthy and varied sponges, soft corals, and vibrant green algaes. Warm, overfertilized waters are contributing to the loss of hard corals and growth of filamentous algaes.

A short excursion into Malahgy's large coral masses and columns, located in the Red Sea's Fury Shoals. The reef is home to many small fishes, encrusting sponges, and a wide variety of soft corals. Unfortunately, isolated coral bleaching and extensive patches of agae-covered dead coral can be seen.

Shaab Hamam reef is located in Egypt's Fury Shoals. Known for a valley of immense hard coral "steps" and a quasi-arch, this section of reef is experiencing some coral bleaching. During this particular dive, high winds and rough surface waves contributed to significant "marine snow": suspended particles swept from the reef surface and redeposited along the leeward flanks.

Shaab Claudio in the Red Sea's Fury Shoals is home to a wild variety of swim-throughs and passages lined with improbable formations painted in stunning colors of encrusting sponges. Few fish and corals inhabit these dark mazes where warm surface waters mix with colder deep water, creating a fantastical alien shimmer-scape.

A short clip of the complete October 2023 Annular Eclipse taken from New Mexico. Photographed using a legacy 300mm telephoto with a 2x teleconverter on an APSC camera for a total focal length of about 900mm, all on a regular tripod. No clock drive, no intervalometer. Post processed with Lightroom, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve.

reef is beautiful......its unfortunate that two creepy guys where consistently following and trying to get cam shots of the thong wearing girl. unless of course; this is a pineapple video......in that case , carry on....lol

Wow! That was really interesting - especially the rotifers leaving their protective egg structure. I never would have thought to look at samples from rock pools. What a beautiful world we live in...
