Nice tractor, don’t see many 766
Where did you go it's been 3 months
Awesome to see this on RUclips. I just bought the same two row New Idea picker. I know I need parts included a roller two tires and those finger starfish looking things. So many of mine are broken off. You said your gonna order them for yours so I wanted to check with you and see if you found a good parts source ? Thank you.
Just wanted to say thank you for the video, mine is currently jammed and needed to see which way the big sprocket on the side of the elevator spins.
For your markers see about changing angle or look at putting notched blades on
On the front disc's you need sloted disc's they will cut up the grass better , just a tip.
I've got similar 800 (dry fertilizer and insecticide boxes), Cyclometer III monitor that I run with my 1466. It's a nice setup that I plant soybeans, popcorn, and sunflowers) in Va. Always nice to see someone planting with similar equipment. Nice video
Good luck planting your 2024 crops
Great video
Great content keep it up.
I had that exact spreader. I pulled it with a AC D19. I was spreading from compost piles in the late summer early fall. I scooped it up in the spring into the compost piles from places where I had bale rings over the winter. 11:11 I used a Ford 7710 with Westindorf loader to pile it and load the spreader. It was a good spreader for what I needed.I ran around 120 beef cows. I miss those days.
What u use for engine head to pop out ? I have my john Deere B but I been working on it.. I have hard time to remove engine head where valves at... I trying remove it to rebuild and cleaning to save money instead of buy new parts to replace cuz them part is expensive now .. I try figure out how remove engine block with valve on it before reach to pistons hole to see inside to clean out those rusty stuff.. any idea to advice me ??
I like your 766 IH ... We have a 966 Hydro and that thing is a beast.
I've got the same model it cranks but no power is getting to the plugs. I've got new regulator, solenoid, and plugs but no spark
Whenever you have a worn belt that slips like that, just go to the house and get some maple syrup and dab some on the working part of the belt. It'll get you by until you can purchase a new one.
very interesting you need a idler pulley to keep ntension on that loose belt good piece of yesterdays techinoligy
We had a Knoedler hammer mill. Wish I still had it. That's a nice setup you have 👍👍
We had an old Case hammermill bolted to the barn floor that ran off the belt pulley. We put ear corn on a flat rack so you just shoveled it in the mill. The pipe was set to blow the corn into a bin in the barns granary. The cows were down below the granary so we filled a feed cart by gravity for the cows. You may keep your eyes open for a good grinder mixer. I grind feed every weekend. It's much easier, and yes I still feed ear corn.
Hammermill videos are always appreciated! It appears to be doing an excellent job. Affirm Ephesians 4:2.
If I remember right, you loosen up the 4 bolts where the motor mounts sit on the elevator then slide it down to tighten that belt
Nice looking corn crib
Nice looking corn picker
Nice looking hammer mill
You need to get that fan going. It'll vlow those husks out of there.
Just a suggestion, if run fertilizer in furrow you shouldn’t run no more then 5gal acre or could burn seed.
Good job well done👍
Looks like a lot of work but far less expensive than today's cost of new equipment. Enjoyed you taking us along.
Great video, thanks for sharing.😊
Great video
During the Cold/Winter months, I always take my spreader out and run it empty to make sure the apron moves, not frozen to the boards before I load it. 1 time hand emptying a full spreader is worth the time running it empty beforehand. Just a suggestion.
It no fun to hand pitch the load off when the web breaks and it will break.
That’s some good advice, I like to use a manure fork and check that none of the slats are frozen to the floor before I start loading
Looks like all IH equipment man new subscriber
shop vac for corn
Very good👍
Do you hit many rocks?
Not much any more but every once in a great while
As a fellow s.w. wi resident best of luck to you and your family!
What crops do you grow? Good video. How deep are you tilling? It seems like your tractor could handle a chisel plow 2-3x larger.
Mostly corn and a little winter rye, in the heavy ground that’s all it can handle and when I get to the headlands it’ll actually stop the tractor in place because it’s to much
Oh man that brings back some memories,we used to use one at the old farm. Not fast and will give you a sore neck from turning it back and forth. But easy to work on
I see you are in South West Wisconsin, so you could check out “ Iowa country girl” to see where they are in Iowa
Oh, Iowa country girl, has a four row corn planter and a picker just like yours for sale because they are going to 30 inch rows. They are Christians just like you and post a Bible verse at the end of each video that they put out on Monday.
Did Iowa girl sell her picker and planter ?
Love seeing the older equipment, it is a challenge keeping old stuff working.
It turned out to be good looking corn. It was good to see old equipment run again.
Looks like a handy equipment setup. Glad to see the older equipment back in action! Not sure what corn seed you're using, but I switched to open pollinated since it has higher % protein. Reid's Yellow Dent has about 3x, Bloody Butcher about 4x, and Blue Hopi 5x what many of the commercial hybrid/gmo varieties have. A pig farmer I know saw 20% larger pig litters after switching to open pollinated corn. So add some to your test plans for next spring. Open Pollinated seed needs longer spacing (8-12in) vs hybrids with vertical leaves that can go to 6in spacing (I planted too close my first year with it). I use 30in rows and am experimenting with 15in this spring to increase population while giving more plant to plant space and weed control. Look up youtube presentations from Rick Clark and Erin Silva for how to use Winter Rye/Spring Oats for weed control.
That’s good to know especially since I have some hogs, this year it was just some leftover 113 day dekalb corn seed I got from a friend but I’ll definitely keep that in mind this upcoming spring
How did it turn out for ya?
Really well actually, both fields have a really good stand so far
@@barnfindrestorations7461 yeah that's what I'll see one year, the next not so, no moisture to germ. Then good again
I had a new idea, ten single Roll corn picker it worked quite well for me, Stay with it kid
Good Video
Good video! Learned a lot just by looking at the different sections apart from the tractor frame. Keep up the good work.
I have a old 1965 Massey Ferguson 180
I’m about to do this. How does the square piece after the PTO come off? Should it just pop off?
Thanks for the video. Just bought my first Farmall a Super A Industrial. I was pushing it off of the trailer and noticed some play in the rear axles. There is about 1/8" side to side play. I don't know if someone has been in before and the "spacer" is missing or possibly the axle is worn and the bearing is moving on the axle, or perhaps the housing is worn and allowing the bearing and shaft to move. I guess all are an indication of a tractor with a lot of hours on it.
Good info, you skipped alot of steps. Maybe buy a tripod. LOL
