About the Claudia part of the vid. She is motivated by her love for her dad and isn't simply just evil for no reason. simply "going crazy" doesn't make sense to her character. This is why Aaravos needed Claudia to cast the spell to free him. Because it needed love and Aaravos knew Claudia is deep down a kind and empathetic person, who does things for love. She does have a twisted idea of who is deserving of that love obviously but that's what makes her an interesting character. it was extremely sinister how Aaravos used his daughter's death to manipulate Claudia. In that sense Aaravos mirrors the version of Claudia she could have become aka someone who has lost all hope and become an empty husk, only motivated by revenge. I'm going to give TDP some credit here, the show has a lot to say about the nature of love and how love can be both destructive and healing. It's an over arching theme of the show. While I think s4-5 were boring AF the themes are pretty consistent most of the time.

Meh, I don't blame you. The pacing wasn't the absolute worst but I feel like it could have been a tad better. Granted, I liked this season was better seasons 4 and 5,at the same time, there's still room for improvement I did like what Viren did this season. Especially in the episode "We All Fall Down"

"What's the point of having a mentally unhinged villain if you're going to put their therapist with them in every scene?" Love it. This season was redeemed by its last three episodes, otherwise I don't think it was any better than S4 or S5. Calum and Reyla getting back together had so much a "We might as well do this" vibe. There were way too many supposedly cute creatures, all of whom I wanted to die. I did find it improved, though, when in desperation I switched to the French voice track. The voices were less annoying, the emotion came across better, and the lip-sync was somehow just as good.

Idea: The whole of TDP but Noriaki Kakyoin is there.

After binging the entire series cause of season 6 I liked it a lot more, including season 4&5

Riko initially seems the weakest of them all. But i. The end she is the mentally strongest. Nothing phases her. Even when activly dying of venom shes completely level headed and only looses it to the hallucinations.

This is a good show i like and enjoyed and i keep recomending to friends.

Season 2 REALLY was a dramatic change from the first. Personally, I wanted to see more of the 6th layer and invest more time into exploring a single layer (outside of Here Is A Fucked Up City), so I did feel like the 2nd season was jarring when I first watched it. I wasn't planning to rewatch it... but this video is making me rethink that. Gonna give it another try. Thanks!

and it really sucks because the world building and lore is incredible, i strive to be this creative with a world and its inhabitants, but it is extremely hard to recommend this show because of the weird and disgusting aspects involving children

I have such a love hate relationship with this show the world building is so fucking incredible but the author is such a terrible person

I binged this season over 2 days this weekend and I have some mixed feelings about it. I agree with you completely about Nanachi and Mitty, the fact that our main cast was split up for most of the season also weakened it I think, a big draw of the series is the chemistry of those three and we barely got to see it. The highlight of the season for me was definitely the flashbacks to Wazukyan's group exploring the abyss and creating the city, this season continued to deliver the incredibly dark themes. However I don't think anything in this season hits as hard as saying goodbye to Mitty (the first time) and that was a bit of a disappointment for me. I think there were so many layers of tragedy here that it became difficult to relate to. I felt sorry for Irumyuui, Vueko, Faputa, the villagers, Belaf - but all for different and somewhat conflicting reasons. The whole thing left me feeling sad and conflicted, which isn't a bad thing, but that conflict took away the sharp edge I was expecting. Compared to the end of season 1, euthanising Mitty is immediately relatable to anyone who's experienced grief. Season 2 is far more complex, and it's interesting in its own ways. It's not necessarily a bad thing that it didn't make me feel exactly the same way that Season 1 did, but I do thing the added complexity added some muddyness to the message and the way it made me feel when watching. I think this season might benefit greatly from a few repeated viewings where the complexity will become better understood and get in the way less. Because this comment is already getting pretty long and has been somewhat negative, I'll sign off by saying that despite my nitpicks it was still an amazing season and MiA is one of the best anime out there, I just wanted to get my heart broken again and it wasn't.

All people should have their own opinion about the series: they sick, beautiful etc., as we all know you'll normals will say. I can't really relate to author, because he clearly don't want to understand the series at all. Had he read the manga? Does he know what time this anime is related to? Did he knew there's a prequel to all this? We also don't know) what I personally think to highlight is the artwork for the third season: authors didn't get a heck about the hollows of the village. Though the manga is well-adaptated, except for the upcoming story of Vueko (there's lil more time we have to came with the full image of her character, it's more handy in manga) I can't say the author of manga is having issues or it's just a story overboarding thing to have so much kids and violence in the same place, but truly might have the explanation: You see, the first author's work was for the kids, representing kid's magical girls fairytale. As for thr caracter design or forms for the clothing and stuff! It wasn't fascinating, but I remember that little. The main reason for such harsh graphics with the minors is the reality issues. The Abyss scares me not with their "magic tricks" or something, that I can't really encounter, but the real people: suffering, watching their team dying of a disease, eaten alive from inside out. The kids, who are ready for all the horror of The Abyss can't be regular ones. The regular are still in the orphanage, waiting for their 8 birthday to come. I think this anime isn't for sensitive people. I personally still can't watch some of the titles made in Japan to bring me a little more threats, but I hope this comment will made something really clear: Some anime is still too much for the majority of people, and it's perfectly fine with me. Hope you've learned something new form the video, or not. Stay safe, alert, and make sure the kids are safe as well❤

just watched the season 2 yeasterday and found it rly great, also found it cool to get some backstory of Reg. I wonder if we will meet some of the native when we reach the end of the abyss since reg athleast looks like one of them

Exactly what I was saying to my friends when talking about the series, the author isn't even trying to hide his fetishes anymore. I made the mistake of reading the manga and let me just say the anime is still extremely censored compared to the manga. After the Irumyui's fate arc I had to stop and go outside because what? I still love the series but we all know it would be even better without all the weird shit because the plot and the whole world building is so compelling it leaves you stunned.

I appreciate your video because I couldn’t get much into the second season due to my discomfort with the fetish stuff and the sexualization of children. I think that’s my only issue with most peoples criticism of this show is that it’s not just fetish stuff. it’s children being sexualized pretty constantly that’s not a fetish that’s something else entirely.

Its also interesting to me how much this series touches on the like, “horror” of disability through body horror. So many of these “fates worse than death” touch on the same things: disfigurement, chronic pain, immobilization/paralysis and inability to communicate. These are things real people live through and have rich lives despite. Yes, they have fantasy monster bodies but 9/10 the issues materially inherent are what I listed. The “horror” of a lot of this doesn’t hit for me because of that. It would be one thing if it were actually invested in exploring those angles buts it’s so voyeuristic. It keeps hitting the same notes; so much of it is just misery porn.

Calling it simply “fetish” content downplays that these are CHILDREN. The dude is a .pdf file. As a survivor, I don’t trust predators with Coming of Age/breaking of innocence narratives. I can’t finish an episode of this shit - I legit feel like it should put me on a watchlist if I do. Its goes so far beyond the typical AYO reaction.
