Bakul : 'Everyday Baskets' Exhibition with Jennifer P. Linggi
The Godown presents Bakul: Everyday Baskets from Sabah from January 7 to February, 2023. This 7-week long exhibition showcases the bakul collection of Sabahan author and collector Jennifer P. Linggi and wants to momentarily transport you into their world:
~ To know these baskets is to go into their world. And this world springs from rattan, bamboo, bemban, mengkuang and other plants from the jungle. I saw this segment a long time ago and it stuck with me. Now here I am with copies of Asimov's "New Guide to Science" (80s edition) and "The History of Physics." You can look at Asimov's prodigious non-fiction output as his way of reinforcing his learning. After all, as Thomas Sowell said (paraphrasing), one sure way of testing how well you understand an idea is how easily you can explain it to someone else. Lucky for us that a considerable portion of his non-fiction is still available and I can't wait to dig into these two books with the spirit of self-teaching that Asimov inspirationally speaks about here. :)

I wonder when Isaac talk to you four years ago and express his feelings of life reality of what it was and by the evidence of this present time by looking at the way all religious people are getting fat really fat rich from followers and all the corruption damage that the government done by supporting them with these lies is it something you can do by looking the truth and help to rescue our lives from religious fanatics that make no sense and stop people from reality to learn something better instead of wasting their times on magic I wonder what size of the coin you are you interview a very very bright man not a religious lucrative rat

No, he was someone who decided to see, and learn, accept reality and give reasons for people to learn and to dream.. There no geniuses.. even if there are even they could be failures sometimes. But a free thinker is someone we all can be
Yes, by all definitions of 'genius', he was.
He was a person with an IQ of about 155, so we’ll, if not like Stephen hawking, Asimov was pretty smart by all means. Excelling in many fields, not just one or two.

I enjoy learning and reading books, not because I want to become a genius, but for the reason of trying to understand how things works and do some projects.

He certainly wasn't wrong in my case. I've learnt far more from the internet than I did in five years at one of Australia's top universities.
