This channel focuses on Frontier's award winning simulation games, Planet Zoo and Planet Coaster. Planet Zoo is by far my favorite game of all time, hearkening back to the thousands of hours I spent playing Zoo Tycoon as a child! I don't play Planet Coaster AS much, but I still deeply love the customization and building aspects of that game as well! One of the things that I love most about these games is the incredible community of supportive people that surround it. So whether you are here for inspiration for your builds, looking for a better understanding of the game or to offer feedback on my builds, I can know that we are all here to not only build zoos, but also build each other up.

This is actually incredible 😍 I know it's console, but I can tell you were a PC builder before. Just the level of detail and not being afraid to do organic shapes and colours is something that comes with experience and lots of hours played!

Hey Captain! it's been great watching your channel grow and all your builds get more and more impressive. I remember when you were just posting your photos on Facebook before you even started the channel! I wanted to ask about zoo tours, no matter what link I try, I cant get through to your discord. Is there another way I could submit my console zoo (Floki Wildlife Park) for a potential tour? I'd love to know what you think of it.
That planet zoo theory is crazy why even think of a two when you can add the millions of animals there are in the world and charge for DLC, I hear what you say about jurrasic world but I have it and it’s a dead game, they can milk this like EA does with the sims. If I ask for anything in two it’s allowing more of the exhibit species have our own blueprints and builds. If anything I agree aquariums are a stretch with them working on Planet coaster two they are bettering the water physics. I’m hopefully wishing we get better water animals.
@@DRIZZYMAC02140 it’s not just about animals. There are building mechanics, management features and many more things that can’t be added in a basic DLC. It requires rebuilding the game from scratch.
If we get any more animals after this pack, I'm hoping that we'll get some more monkeys! Howler Monkey, Spider Monkey, Vervet Monkey, etc. They are a criminally underrepresented class of animals in the game right now. The baboon will be a good addition to the primate roster, but we're still really lacking in primate variety.
I dont believe that frontier has ended the game they need money and they make alot on pz more than most games, and alot of the speicies even give less work because they are kinda reskins and people still want them, but i do think you mention an important question everyone is ignoring, pz2 is going to have birds and aquariums (not dolphins or whales maybe in sea pens only) but besides that are we getting the same animals? because even the now fan fav are pretty down in the list if we count the ones in the game already, also do i really want to buy a new game where i have to wait years to get all the animals i already have just because i get a bird or a fish? But im soooo happy with the pallas cat and leopard :D
@@JR47846 PZ2 will come stacked with dozens and dozens of regular zoo animals as well, bet money on it.
There'd still be plenty of animals to add in besides those for aviaries and aquariums. And some cetaceans won't hurt like belugas, dolphins, porpoises. Just the larger ones are not cut for it including great whites.
they wont add them i even doubt they will add those on pz2 whenever ti comes out full aquatic species yes but not cetaceans unless we can do like seapens
I think they should make a planet aquarium! I think it would be better to have a game just for aquarium things and bigger fish, wales, sharks, ect. I think that would be much better then then adding aquariums to PZ 2

@@captain.ketchup I think if this was the last, It clearly wouldn't have this specific mountain themed, as the animals included are mountain dwellers, and it would've been bigger than the usual like what they did with jwe 2 with the Park managers pack, so this sounds like it's not the last

@@jeroengaruda4300 the Hamadryas makes sense. I went with the Geladas just because if typically lives more in the mountains, while the Hamadryas typically lives lower
@@captain.ketchup They could be adding both the Hamadryas and the Gelada in this pack considering they're both highland animals. One lives at higher elevations while the other prefers lower, rocky outcroppings to reach acacia trees. That's what I read about the Hamadryas baboon.

@@captain.ketchup Yeah, me too. I still don't think this is our last DLC. Though there are some that think it's the last one. But Frontier would not end it with a mountain DLC. Even Leaf doesn't think it's the last one. He's thinking we're going to get a Latin America pack for the winter DLC. Those streamers in the teaser image tells me they're planning to celebrate the game's fifth birthday with another animal pack. That's probably what's going to have the fan favorites in it like the Tree Kangaroo, Secretary Bird, Musk Ox, Coati and Walrus.

Still totally believe that this is the last pack. Just because its not what we expected (the fan favourite pack) doesnt rules out that this is the last.

@@captain.ketchup this pack has three objectively OK animals... What worries me is everything else. We're 100% getting a bunch of unnecessary clones and recolours of animals we already have. Spectacled bear, yak, guanaco... This game is on its last legs. It would be nice to see them add animals that actually matter and not just the same animals again and again
You literally just explained why we are getting copies. It's on its last legs. Bring on Planet Zoo end of 2026.
@@the.aardvark as you said, the game is on its last legs. Why would they invest millions to create brand new animal models, instead of saving that for planet zoo too? I’ve seen people say many times that these are just re-skins, but I mean for the most part, what animal would we get? That’s not essentially a re-skin? all horned animals like deer, elk moose, are about the same thing. All of the cats are the same thing. Most of the primates are the same thing. Even in new animals, like the secretary, bird or the walrus would pull mirrored animations from the emus and the seals. Animals aren’t all that different.

I think that if the secretary bird is part of it, then it is the last, but as this seems to be a highlands pack, then it should not be part of the pack and we should see another pack after this one!

@@edgymarrow there is definitely going to be a Planet Zoo 2. Planet Zoo was insanely successful, and with so much left on the capitalize on (birds and aquariums), the only reason they wouldn’t make this game is if they hate money.

It's launching end of 2026. It's the third game on their roster of consecutive financial year releases.
@@edgymarrow I definitely did not take your comment as rude. But planet zoo two is definitely happening. Nobody wants just an update to planet zoo one. If you look at all of the new gameplay features and management features that they have added in planet coaster too, planet zoo two will be revolutionary for simulation games. there’s no way to do that in just a standard update. There are too many mechanics that would have to be changed, so if you’re gonna make an update that large, you might as well just make a second game. Why would you not want a new game that’s improved in every way?
I still think we might getting some birds for the walktrough enclosured because theres words like macaw,lovebird,duck,victoria,crowned and pigeon,vulture and eagle in the planco dictionary

I believe that the baboon is actually a Hamadryas Baboon which has definently been requested more and fits the shape a bit better.
@@justastaronblox5823 the shapes are roughly the same. I went with Geladas because it’s a mountain primate, the Hamadryas is a bush/grassland primate. Of this is a true highland pack, I just assumed it would be the mountain version. But as I said, it’s all a guess truthfully.

@@captain.ketchup he actually explicitly says in the movie that he is not a baboon lmao😂😂, he says “ it means you’re a baboon(referring to Simba) and I’m not”
@@ryomahoffman6803 in the first movie he says that, but there are other movies. Mandrills also do not have long tails. The truth is that Disney made him a baboon without really researching what a baboon is, and then they were stuck with a half baboon/half mandrill. In the grand scheme though, I don’t suppose it really matter 😂 Now all I want to do is rewatch the Lion King

It's never coming to PZ. PZ2 - it'll be the main selling point. Aquariums and aviaries with flying mechanics.

Very disappointing to hear you no longer represent the Console community. It was nice seeing what can be done on Console, that became pretty obsolete now sadly. On to find another good RUclipsr that sets standards for Console. Good luck and just the best.

the path on the entrance where the staff gets stuck looked like it had a kerb while the rest didn't, might be that the path there has a very small gap under the metal strip
@@Haunter_gg I’ve fought it for a while, I can’t figure it out. I’ve added and removed the gates, I’ve deleted it all and redid it, did it with just the paths… I can’t figure it out.
