      By default and if you follow the video, the username is "pi" and SSH command is SSH pi@headlesswifi.local. However, if you used another username when you programmed the SSD, then the SSH command needs to use that username. for example SSH UserName@headlesswifi.local . I hope this helps, Mark

    This is exactly what I was looking for! I've made some cool things for friends to use but hate asking them for their ssid and password before sending. What if the user takes the device to another house and needs to change the wifi? Wonder if we could program a momentary button to wipe config and/or put back in ap mode for new connection. Maybe even keep old ssid and passwords in case they go between networks (houses), what do you think?

    • @mrlately7253
      @mrlately7253 11 месяцев назад

      Well now that I look at it a bit it seems to open ap if wifi connection isn't made. So no need for my button. Does it save past wifi/PW of old connections or overwrite?

    I am struggling so hard with the password stage. I've reset my pi about 5 times now attempting to get the local's password right. I'm about to go crazy. Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong with the password for the SSH?

    • @surfncircuits2916
      @surfncircuits2916 Год назад

      Hi Zach, I"m not sure which password you are having an issue with. I'm assuming that you are able to get connected to the wifi, but the SSH pi@headlesswifi.local password is returning an error saying you have the wrong password? To be certain, please type the error you are getting. If error is a wrong password, then I have seen this error when I forget to put in the correct UserName into the command. By default and if you follow the video, the username is "pi" and SSH command is SSH pi@headlesswifi.local. However, if you used another username when you programmed the SSD, then the SSH command needs to use that username. for example SSH UserName@headlesswifi.local . I hope this helps, Mark

      He reheated the contact points around the chip with a heatgun so the conections will melt back in place. Sometimes the conections will come loose over time if poorly done by the manufacturer trying mass produce products fast and not aficiant, sacrificing quality for quantity.

    Just fixed my sound problem using this technique! Thanks for the in depth video. Is your tv still working now?

    • @surfncircuits2916
      @surfncircuits2916 3 года назад

      Yes it is! However, I have since had the chip completely re-balled and resoldered. The heat gun fix worked for a good six months, but resoldering has now worked for more than a year. I really like the solution proposed by wingnetengineer below. Adding a cooling fan to the device will help with the large temperature gradients the package/solder sees and will help to extend the heat gun fix.

    • @MrMarco7259
      @MrMarco7259 3 года назад

      @@surfncircuits2916 , Thanks for the info. 11 months later, my sound is still working! My television is located very close to a large ceiling fan, so I think that has helped with any heating issues.

  • @wingnetengineer1624
    @wingnetengineer1624 4 года назад

    So...I re-flowed my processor at 250'c with an hot air station. Then I added a small chipset fan to the top of the rf shield cage. The issue is here that the back of the tv has hard plastic right up against this area, which allows no air flow. So I modified the back in this area to be open with a fan grill on the cpu side and a chipset fan on the other blowing in cool air though the RF cage. It did not get hot to the touch after this modification and the set works snappy and great now. They really needed a better heat sink as well, but relied on the RF cage to help disperse the heat.

    Do you need to add thermal paste?..remember that is a power processor

    • @surfncircuits2916
      @surfncircuits2916 Год назад

      Yes, that best way as you suggest is to add some thermal paste onto the top of the IC to act as a thermal path to the top cover. Although in my case I just used the paste that was already present.

    Question. I have a xvt3d554sv vizio. it first started by showing red lines across horizontally and when it would warm up the TV was fine but then the HDMIs went out and that's when I stop using it. do you think I have the same problem or you think it may be something else?

    I am having the same issue with my BMW. Even if replaced the light bulb, it only works for a few moments until I closed the trunk. I am glad I saw your video because the issue appears to be the wire.

  • @timknapp6738
    @timknapp6738 5 лет назад

    Thanks for the suggested repair! Heating the chip, under the heat sink on the main board, with a heat gun on high worked for me. It was somewhere over 20 seconds for me. The only thing I have to add to the technique is to place a bit of solder on top of the chip, towards the outside edge. This let me know that the top of the chip had reached the solder's melting point. I had used a bit of solder that had been ejected from my sold-a-pult, because all I have is leaded solder and this is a ROHS device. I used a dab of flux to keep it from blowing away. I am amazed that it solved the problem. This is on my Vizio XVT473SV that has been in service for over 8 years. The picture had turned funny for my wife. She tried to turn the TV off with the remote and button on the side, but the TV wouldn't turn off until she unplugged it from the line voltage. After that the standby light would turn on, but I couldn't get any other signs of life out of it. I was hoping to find a blown capacitor on the PSU, but no such luck. I found the 5v on the standby circuit as it should. I found 3v on the 3rd pin in on the jog wheel power button board. The voltage on the pin went to 0v when I pushed the button in, so it made sense that the button was telling the main board to power up. But the command wasn't coming out of the main board, because I wasn't getting any voltage on the PWR/On pin on the CN202 header on the PSU board coming from the main board. So I gave the hot air a go and hooked the main board back up, but still couldn't get past Standby. Somehow I needed to have fastened all of the mounting screw holding the main board down, not just the 2 I initially tried, that or it just needed some more time to get its bearing, because the next I checked the indicator was flashing between amber and white! So far so good through two power cycles, all buttoned up and put back together. Thanks again for your help!
