This works on any version of the game, this is the steam release specifically and you have to use a no clip cheat to get out of bounds and reach the trigger.

although there is the boat and while idk if something like that can be achieved with the boat its the only thing leon can interact with and it doesnt send him straight into a cutscene like the remake does once interacted with perhaps getting on and getting off at just the right angle would allow him to clip OOB

Would definitely be cool if a speedrunner could figure something out. For now it's just a neat thing, or something to do on your millionth playthrough and don't want to deal with fish boy.

speedruns using glitches have no style. glitchless speedruns deserve all the spotlight. i want to watch how the protagonist went through the events canonically like a superhuman agent from a movie, i don't care you saved 0.7 seconds timing frames doing a oob moonwalk

Every speedrun skips the cutscenes to save time and glitches also save time If you wanna watch the events unfold why dont you just watch a playthrough or play through the game yourself? I mean i dont disagree with you that glitchless runs are awesome but me personally i enjoy the glitches in a game and the methods used to perform them
