When using waste yarn the first stitch isn’t complete on the first row of project. This will show you how to fix that. This can help with doing a brim, a cuff, closing up the ends of tubes for twisted headbands or scarves or anything you need it for. This helps keep ur stitches lined up making the process a little bit easier

I watch your video making the Christmas tree hat but wanted to know what size round loom did you use. Thanks
How many pegs would I need to do an adult hat
How many pegs is that machine
Will definitely try this. Thank you
🎉🎉
What an excellent idea!!
What do u do when your on the brim and STS are to hard to get on the machine
Where's the written instructions
just done my first ponytail beanie. Great pattern and easy to follow. Thank you
Thank you so much 🎉
Hi just come across this video , Would love to try but no tuition on it and so fast , Could you tell me how you did it and what paints used? Thank you
I was testing how to upload videos on RUclips when I posted this and it never let me delete the video - I used ur basic acrylic paints from Walmart and a few of arteza brand - and the leaves and flower are done by one stroke painting with putting a few colors on the brush at the same time and brushing 1 time in the shape of leave or flower petal - and added fake eyelashes - I would recommend sealing the head first with maybe modge podge or something cus the styrofoam made it hard to get a solid layer on the whole head
Great tutorial thank you ❤
This is for experts❤ I have a lot to learn, but it's funny, thanks!❤
New to your channel!! Love the tree hat! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
😮wow I am still learning and just learned something brand new! Great video, thank you.
Great tutorial. Can 4 or 5 row stitch for tuck stitches work? Making a smaller gather.
You totally can it just gives a different look - with less or more - I would suggest making a tube and trying different lengths for tuck stitch to see what u like
Thank you for your advice and tutorial. Enjoy your day.
Thank you Stephanie.
Thanks girl
Cool!
June yarn sounds like something in a man's pants. It is properly called "waste yarn".
Junk yarn waste yarn is all the same thing several different names with same meaning so it probably doesn’t matter
Awesome & Thanks mam 🙂🙏🕊
You are so imaginative. Thank you.
Aww thank you!
Great tutorial! Will you be making any more tutorials on the Addi?
Yes! I have some old patterns I did a long time ago I’d like to get on here and I’ll probably be using different machines but it applies to all of them
@@lazykcreations7857 good! I'll be watching for them. Thank you.
Nice lazykcreations
Thank you lol
Ur welcome
Excellent tutorial! Video, well done! Thank you!
Thank you!!
Por favor en español no se ningunotro idioma❤
Thank you for the explanation about the first stitch to begin making the band. I had struggled with the stitches not matching up and this fixed it! Very helpful.
Your welcome! I’m so glad it helped! You can also that for the twisted headband or crocheting on bottom or whatever it may be - it’s a habbit of mine to fix the first stitch now for anything lol
Your tutorials are such a delight to watch. I have been knitting and selling hats made on the Addi for 4 years now, and never have I seen your method of completing the stitch at the join of the waste yarn/project yarn. It is brilliant! Also, the method of using a hair elastic makes a nicer edge than how I have been finishing off my hats. By the way, you have absolutely beautiful hands.
Awww thank you sooo much!!! I’m so glad it helped! For durability and long lasting I do prefer to use elastic that I sew together at ends or the elastic hair ties that don’t have a seam, they are like fabric but all one piece but I’ve had my ponytail hats for 5yrs and they have been through the ringer lol they are my ranch hats so they go in washer and dryer and I used the goody brand hair ties at medium strength and they are still going strong
can you do a traditional turn up brim?
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner, what do you mean a turn up brim? Like one you flip up ?
Want to do this. 30 rows for the brim but how many rows for the rest of the beanie?
For a fitted beanie I do 35 rows brim and 30 rows for head part - that’s for a teen to adult - some adults are smaller and can be 25 rows
Oh, thanks for this video, I did one earlier, but they had me cutting off the junk such a waist. now I know I can save it for the next project, I'm new to knitting machines so you're a big help.
Oh I’m so glad this helped you! That’s the way I was taught too 8yrs ago to cut it lol I was like there has got to be a better way lol
Another question... If I'm going to work on an ice cap in two colors (black / purple) How many lines of black ... and how many lines of purple?
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner! But if your doing stripes you can do 5 rows each color for smaller stripes or 10 rows each - for a fitted beanie I do 30 rows for the head part and 35 for brim - some adults/teens who have thinner heads are 25 rows and children are 20
question about.. How many lines to make a plisse?
Cool! Thank you!
Great tutorial...here's my trick for removing waste yarn...(or junk yarn) when taking off waste yarn I've always had an extra row of a different color of waste yarn on each end so when it came time to take it all off I only had one row to pull out and the rest just fell off...2 reasons 1 I didn't have to pull so many times and 2 it is so much faster...Knit 5 rnds of waste yarn, add 1 row of another color of waste yarn. knit hat, add 1 rnd of waste yarn, knit 5 rnds waste yarn. Time to pull waste yarn fold hat in half pull loop...walla waste yarn off...
yes that is called a lifeline, traditionally used in hand knitting and flatbed machines, I prefer to unravel tho lol
New subscriber here. I came upon your channel this morning in reference to brims on Addi beanies and I love it. Not sure if I am confident enough to try the brim though. But I saw this and thought it was such a fun idea. I wonder if I could use decoupage on the foam head. Thank you
Aww thank you so much! Sorry I didn’t see this sooner! I would love to hear how ur journey has been so far
On this project did you use stretch vinyl? If not what kind did you use?
This one in particular I believe I used stretch htv, but I have used glitter, patterned, and cricut normal htv - I haven’t had any issues with any and surprisingly the glitter looks fabulous still and it’s years old now
Great tutorial! Definitely going to try this. I’ve only done “fully closed” beanies so far. 😻 Here’s a tip I learned… when you do your scrap yarn add a single extra row of a different color scrap yarn between your 5 rows of scrap and your working yarn. Then when you’re done knitting all you have to do is pull out that single row of scrap and the rest of your scrap pops right off without all the unraveling. Hope it helps!
Yes that’s a good technique called a lifeline and dental floss or nylon string shiny smooth can be used as well
What size machine are you using
This was the addi king 46 but all techniques can be used on all machines with maybe a few row amount changes, some fancy stitches will be different on different machines because of gauge difference
WOW!!! I’ve been searching all sorts of Addi things because I just got an Addi last night and you are the first one to show this! BRAVO!!!
It is honestly my go to! Lol this video was a rushed last minute bday gift I did right before leaving to go lol but I just love spicing everything up with whatever I want now!
Thank you so much your video helped me so much! I hope to learn more from you.
I'm so glad!
Oh my goodness I was wondering if there was a way to make a messy bun beanie. I’ll never stop saying it’s endless what you can do with your Addi loom machine. I love it! Thank you Jamie for creating a pattern.
There is also a double layer version with brim on machine and u can do single layer by following the how to make a brim on machine on my video list
I know this is a year after you posted the video, but I had to say it was a great tutorial. I banged one out tonight and it looks fantastic! I'll be using this method from now on especially since it's doubled up! Much warmer. Thank you!
Awwww thank you ! I’m so glad you love it! I have so much hair the pony hats are my fave !
My skills are here for this but loved your explanations!
Thank you!!
Very cute!
Thank you!
I met you in Babbies live this morning. I’m CharlieandZoe_ on TikTok. I’m Shawn Skinner Lawson on fb. Charlie and Zoe are my dogs I sometimes video. 😂 Oh my goodness! I had put out of my head the idea I could make one of these because I can’t conquer the simple slip stitch for closing stuff like ear warmers. I can’t get the second loop through the first loop. Anyway your descriptions and instructions on this had things no one else has said in that way. I feel like with practice of course I may actually be able to do this! My niece that lived with me wants one of these. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 I will now pour over your you tube videos and Lazy K group posts. I love how you explain things!!! I’m not as confident in my abilities but makes me want to try! I’ve had my Addi only 2 weeks. I’m pretty good at hats. I’ve tried a couple earwarmers sewing closed. Not great. That’s it so far. This will be my next new thing I attempt! ❤️
Fantastic video. Thank you.
Thank you!
