Thanks does it say in the manual which engine oil or what do you suggest. I watched one of your videos before buying. It helped me with my decision after watching.
@@debbiehart5126 I just used 15w40 super diesel oil, it’s a non synthetic mineral oil. I changed mine straight away and then at 20 hrs, my next change should be at 200hrs but I’ll do one at 100hrs as it will be properly run in. Iso46 is the best hydraulic oil for these, I replaced my power steering with it too, stopped a lot of leakage from the power steering cap.
I've just purchased a 45 horsepower Trident 🔱 it turns up next week. I went to the dealership in Brisbane and had a look at them in person and they look like they are a fairly strong built tractor. 3 yrs full parts and labour warranty. I did ask them about the engine and they told me that it's pretty much the same as an OEM Perkins diesel engine. They have kept everything simple and easy to use. No computer parts which is great. I'm looking forward to getting mine.
You’ll love it, they’re a good tractor, just make sure you change the engine oil straight away as it’s only a travel oil they have to move short distances and stop rust in transport. Change the power steering fluid for a heavier hydraulic oil too. I’m about to drop my hydraulic oil as I suspect it isn’t the best quality either. I love mine even with the negative things I’ve found, it does the job really well.
Watched a few of your videos now. Thanks for the honest reviews. My Trident tractor is arriving today and now i know a few things to look out for. Thanks for taking the time to put these up 🙂
Cheers mate, I’m glad you got a bit of info to help you in your decision. They are a good tractor, very capable and I’m enjoying using mine when it isn’t raining lol. Good luck with it all👍
Hi, great video. Do you know which company actually manufactures your tractor? What is the engine make? Thanks
Hey mate, I couldn’t tell you who actually make these, it’s a Chinese import and all the manuals are in Chinese. The motor is apparently a knock off of the Perkins motor
Hi, personally I'd want to know who and where the tractor was manufactured for potential parts down the line. This really should be transparent and obvious. Whilst the dealer maybe good now, history shows that many of these business's do not last the course of time and their incentive to offer good back up service on aging machines diminishes over time. The Chinese now do some excellent copies of older equipment and Perkins was/is an excellent tractor engine.. used in Massey Ferguson tractors for decades which are still working 50-60 years on.
The UHI tractors seem to come with motors made by a company called YTO in China. I would not be surprised if this uses YTO motors as well. The trident seems very similar to the UHI.
@@andiharper4498 hey mate, parts for these tractors have been around for quite a while, I spoke to the new owner of the company when I paid my deposit about this. He’s in this game to make Trident and well known and respected brand in Australia. Parts are readily available from them in all outlets around Australia. The yto motor is a very popular motor in a lot of Asian countries. I’m usually a brand name person but brand names are not what they used to be anymore and no longer represent a viable option for hobby farmers or people who just want to use them as a mechanical aid on their properties. I’m doing these videos to show what they can do and people can take what they want from them. For me it represents great value and assistance on my land. I don’t need to do heavy work. I’m not sponsored or incentivised in any way the importer, so my opinion and videos are only to help people who are looking for an affordable option to overpriced equipment. I have seen probably, one of the first of this tractor under a different brand name for sale still asking good coin and was a 2003 model.
@@MyTMo-f1v I understand and agree with your comments. YTO are a large engine manufacturer with a good reputation...exported around the world...indeed YTO make a decent tractor. I would still want to know you actually manufactures the tractor.
