This one was one of the most popular books from the library when I was a kid. It was always loaned out and you were lucky if you got a hold on it.

It would be awesome to track down where the model on that cover currently is. Maybe a collector owns it?

Nice. I have the Frogzilla but a different color scheme. Had it as a kid, along with the Dor Mei T rex.

I have this book too in my collection, of course the German Version. Was one of my first Dinosaur Books.

I had this book, I actually really like the artwork and the hand lettering. By having those pictures of the boy it was easy to imagine myself being in that position.

I received this book for my 6th birthday in 1988, and I still own it. The art style was definitely bizarre, with some dinosaurs looking warty while others looked slimy. I've recently gotten into collecting vintage dinosaur books for children since I had so many when I was a dinosaur fanatic kid. One local thrift store always seems to have a steady supply coming in somehow, so it's been an exciting few months for me. I guess the more we're understanding about dinosaurs, the less interested I've become, because when I was a kid, dinosaurs were still very much mysterious ancient monsters who dragged their tails and were always looking for the next meal. I loved the old school design of Brontosaurus with the large humped back hanging out in a bog dining on fern plants and sea weed. I love the upright design of the Tyrannosaurus Rex, casually walking up to a heard of Triceratops in a grassy meadow with a token volcano erupting in the background. BTW, you should document how many of these books have an erupting volcano, because I'm convinced everyone in the paleo world believed volcanos were perpetually erupting. I just discovered your channel when searching for one of the most recent vintage dinosaur books I found at the thrift store. I'm enjoying it! I would suggest you find "How Big is a Brachiosaurus?" to review. It was one of my favorites as a kid, and it remains so. I'm looking forward to watching more of your content!

I bought this book once on a trip to Denmark in Danish! The illustrations are obviously done by two different artists, some of the illustrations are rather good but some not so much. The amphibian and early reptile illustrations are very nice but some of the dinosaur illustrations are a bit wonky.

When i was in elementary school, i used to check this book out from the school library every week just to look at the pictures lol

Had the same one as a kid back in late 70’s. This dinosaur supposed to be Gorgosaurus. I still have him too! Enjoy this dinosaur he’s awesome!!

I had a similar one, mine had 1 head, it had the same body, it was brown, and it had a long horn

If you looking for a really good book with illustrations from the same artist, get Dinosaurs: The Most Complete, Up-to- Date Encyclopedia for Dinosaur Lovers of All Ages from Thomas R. Holtz. It’s from 2007 and has over 400 pages loaded with Information and illustrations. I have over 160 Books about Dinosaurs in my collection from the 1960s to present, but that book is one of my favorite ones.

Thank dude, I've been looking for this book for ages but couldn't remember the name of it. Once I saw the pictures it all came flooding back. Now I can try and replace my favourite childhood dinosaur book.
