Riding New England
США
Добавлен 17 фев 2014
Just a couple of old dudes bringing you some of New England's roads and sites from the seats of our Harleys. Enjoy.
10 minutes on the Livewire
Here's a quick ride my buddy and I took at a Livewire Demo day.
The Livewire has a completely different riding feel compared to all non electric motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's.
I hope you enhjoy the ride.

A Harley Rider Rides a New 2018 Goldwing DCT
Просмотров 1,1 млн6 лет назад
First of all Thank you to Naults Powersports in Manchester NH. I got to spend a half hour trying out a new 2018 Goldwing Tour DCT. I normally ride a 2014 FLHTK. The Good: This bike was like riding an Acura. The suspenion, Engine, and transmission kept eliciting the word smooth. It soaked up the all but the largest of craters and slid through the gears like a late model luxury car. The Bad: Stor...
The Tail of the Dragon on an Ultra Limited with a Street Bob
Просмотров 9 тыс.7 лет назад
Riding the Tail of the Dragon on a 2014 Ultra Limited, behind a Harley Davidson Street Bob, during the 2017 Hootenanny, a meet up of motovloggers from all over the east coast. This was my first time on the Dragon. I rode 1000 miles from Boston to NC to check this road off my bucket list. This won't be my last time on the Dragon, but next time I'll rent a trailer for the ride to and fro so I sta...
Riding between the Adirondacks and the Green Mts

Just some great riding around Lake George and Lake Champlain. No talking, just riding and some background music.
Best bike I ever owned.
Niiiice 👌🤙
The 23-24 Goldwing Tours have a much bigger trunk.
It pulled me away from Harley in 2013 F6B, then the 2018 Wing DCT, and now 2023 Tour DCT..I'm a winger for life riding with the Harley Boys..
Auto bikes? 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
TERRIBLE VIDEO
So - it’s been 5 years. Did you buy one? I think this video was part of the reason I bought a ‘19. It was very good but I sold it. Re-thinking it again.
I never did. Sometimes life gets in the way. I hope you enjoyed your 2019.
@@ridingnewengland3192 It was great while I owned it, but I never felt like it could be a replacement for the Ultra Limited or now the Road Glide Limited. Starting to look around again at it, plus a couple of BMW models - love my GSA.
Shakkking Stevens?
15:42 there is not comparison between a heavy piece of iron high maintenance with not 🥚 🥚 to this amazing Japanese technology smooth with reverse too. Motor that will last so so many miles . Harley’s so overpriced heavy gutless low quality
I’m on both bike FB groups, Goldwing and Harley - mostly FXLRS. There’s a lot of hate towards Harleys in GW groups. I don’t see people hating other bikes in Harley groups. This is all on FB. In real life though I do experience about 1/3 to 1/2 of Harley riders won’t give me the two finger wave when I’m on my GW. When I’m on my Harley I don’t see the reverse - people not on Harleys not waving back. The rivalry seems pretty real, and pretty stupid 🤣
I love both bikes for different reasons, and wouldn’t want to give either up. If I had to choose though, I’d keep the HD. It’s a ‘23 though, and my GW is an 18, so the Harley is the new exciting toy. BTW, Corbin sells lids for the GW to increase carrying capacity. I have all 3 on my DCT tour.
note to self, dont put a camera on a bobblehead.
#wickedsmooth 😂❤
Love the accent. I miss RI ❤ I'm scouting goldwings now 🎉
In ‘21 they increased the trunk size to match, or be pretty darn close, to the pre-18 trunk. I just picked up a ‘23 and can get two full-face helmets comfortably inside the redesigned trunk. I would like the extra gallon back, though. I know it does better on gas mileage, but when you’re touring, more gas is always better! BTW, these bikes are engineered to run on regular! Thank you, Honda, for that.
Honda
😕OH God enough with the DCT already, if you're to old and lazy to shift then you shouldn't be on 2 wheels at $34k, go buy a damn Kia Carnival for your porta potty😅
Great video. I'm looking at Gold Wings and found your review very informative. Also... I grew up in Londonderry but moved to the mid-west 20+ years ago. Although we get back to visit family, it is always nice to see NH and know the roads you are riding on. It's been a few years... did you end up getting a Gold Wing? I want to check out other videos on your channel. I don't know which HD you have/had. I have a 2023 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT.... i do miss the clutch that I had on my dirtbike as a kid but it is really nice to just enjoy the ride that much more. The DCT is so smooth and it learns your habits over time too. Thanks again. Stay safe and Go Pats! I was a fan as a kid in the 70s when they were not good... I will always be a Pats fan.
how smooth is it smooth
I know he's going to like the reliability
I keep looking at these, I ride a 2019 RGS now, but there is a couple of things not too sure about. I DON'T like the clam bags, much prefer my HD top openers. Also not sure why Honda even put that big panel of buttons on the tank as I understand you cannot use them while moving ! Servicing looks easier and they run on 87 gas not the 93 a Harley prefers! Maybe I should take one for a ride....
So anyways..... to answer a not-mentioned issue about twist and go bikes..... If you grew up with a twisty, and migrated to a standard ..... yup it is pretty much second-nature . Not sure what all this need is for all of the modes.....Rain, touring. sport and Econo,. Gimme a break,.... Seriously ..... that's bunk and a waste of time. Just learn throttle and rear brake control. just two modes needed ... fast response and slow response. Stay Safe
lol...... Are you leaving your toll-booth change as a tip..... or for the next test-rider...... Stay Safe
😂 No doubt On my mind to ride a gold wing but a harley? man it’s really old school
🎉 you’re completely stressing yourself out. I learned because of renting cars a lot not to bother a lot with all the buttons just the necessary for immediate takeoff. Then drive. When I take a coffee break or have some time left so I can look into the other buttons but then I’m in a resting / parking place. In Europe my friend you would be ending up dead with your behaviour
I appreciate the concern, but as said in the video, I told the guy I'd be back in a few minutes and I was trying to find every feature and navigate an area I was unfamiliar with, If I had 24 hours I would have learned the bike before turning on the camera. I hope you appreciate how I risked my life for your entertainment. Hahahaha. Seriously, I promise you, I was never stressed out. My voice and mannerisms are just 100% Boston. Thanks for clicking on my little video.
I would upgrade if my 05 GW would die😂
haha i live right in that area! I am currently cross shopping the wing base with dct (no trunk) with the indian cheiftain and indian challenger I am REALLY torn but havnt had the chance to try the wing yet but loved both of the Indians and for different reasons.
Although it's been a few years since I've ridden any of them. I thought the Wing was a better riding bike than any of the Indians I had been on, I also preferred HD to any of the Indians. Regardless of what you choose you will enjoy it, and if you don't, you're not married to it. Trade it in and try another. ($$$)
@@ridingnewengland3192 i contacted naults after watching this video and set up a test ride on a wing haha. I didnt know they even did test rides i know national and freedom doesnt unless its a demo day. only place i was aware of was moms/harley and seacoast sport cycle. excellent video by the way i am very intrigued by the new wing i just hope it isnt "boring". I had a 2011 kawi ninja 1000 fast bike but felt very souless and lacked any character. I have been a long time Moto Guzzi fan and love the character of those bikes but my mgx21 sadly has extremely limited aftermarket and the bits bolted to the frame are very second thought cheap feeling.
Harleys are a way of life, but a Honda is a way to enjoy life. 😉
Did you buy one ?
Ever ridden a bmw k1600?
My last bike was a 2008 CBR 1000. There aint much in the speed department K series could show me.
A gallon less dosen't matter it gets better milage than previous models.
You said “15 minutes” ….. riiiiiiiight 😆😎
I was having too much fun. 😀
Me and the wife played a drinking game, had to stop at Smooth #8 🥴 Nice ride Bro' Your enthusiasm feels sincere. 👍🏽given!
That's awesome.
K1600b please
I didn’t read any of the intro
This is the first time in my life I see a bike I feel I'd like to own. It must be like the first jet fighter pilot..."An angel carrying me!"
I just bought a ‘22 Goldie with a DCT last week. It’s an AWESOME bike and the DCT is an awesome transmission.
I love how he's comparing it to an acura Out of all the cars lmao Nice video
Its 2022, did you get yr hands on a BMW k1600? Test ride…👍🏽
If you want it to shift back off the throttle like you would when geabbing the clutch on your maual bike this bike learns your shifting habbits
Wicked Awesome as we said in Peebdy (you know)
is it smooth ? you didn't say 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The hardest part is getting used to no shifting no clutch. But when you’re used to I’d hate to go back. You can rev the engine. Push the button to neutral first. But with a Honda you don’t have to rev the engine to make noise, show off, or keep it running. The gallon of gas lost doesn’t matter because of better mileage you’ll still get the same travel miles.
The only concern I might have with this bike is that it has so many functions and features that one might be tempted to toy with them while you are riding (and distract you from hazards ahead).
As long as you aren't fiddling with the Nav, checking your messages, making coffee, and doing your taxes, you should still have a free hand to ride. (I hope the sarcasm came through here) Thanks for watching.
2018+ is a TRANS bike- It is a ST1800 SPORT BIKE that trying to identify as a GOLDWING- You all are being FOOLED!
Great! That was smooth watching you ride! Awesome review! I don't think I'd ever trade my Harley, for the Honda. The Harley exhaust note has always been music to my ears! It would be like listening to rock music, compared to smooth jazz! Ok once in a lifetime, but not always! Enjoyed watching your vid!!
I've owned 2 Harley's ......never again they are a complete head ache....I'm doing everything possible to convince myself I don't need a new Goldwing.....that's not working out very well
I haven’t been on one in a few years now. But I remember the bike very fondly, I’ve had two friends buy them and both have no regrets. I still have my HD FLHTK but if the motorcycle fairy came in the middle of the night and put a Wing in my garage I wouldn’t complain. Thanks for watching my little video.
I bought an 18 GW today. Sport mode rips. My 09 Road King wouldn't be able to keep up at all. Love em both for different reasons.
If you think this is a sport touring wait to ride a Yamaha FJR 1300, or a Kawasaki Concours 14 or a BMW 1600 GT...
Thanks for helping me decide, but I'm thru thinking. Recently purchased the 2022 DCT, Haven't ridden yet since it's the middle of winter in chicago area winter. Bigger storage better stereo and fog lights standard. I had a trailer hitch installed by the dealer so I'm able to take a rain cover and spare gas just in case. I kept my 2012 Victory Cross Country for clutching and loud pipes if I desire. Plenty of fun in near future retirement.
Smooth.
