While one of the meaning for “shir” indeed is lion, the word is completely irrelevant to shiraz. The meaning of Shiraz is unclear but it comes from Tirazis (its old name 3000 years ago). I admire the fact that you are sharing your experiences with the world.

i've been there before. Its amazing, when you see the sights it makes you feel spiritual inside. Also you can hitchhike if you aint got a car or dont want to book a cab or taxi. Someone bound to give you a free ride, if you are going their direction. Im from London, you never see that kind of stuff here.

Sorry Jason, that you went all the way to Iran and still didn't get educated! (1) Cunieform is not a language, it's one of three writing systems. The only relation they have to each other is that they all look wedge shaped. (2) Old Persian Cuneiform is not related to Sumerian (or Assyrian or Babylonian) cuneiform. Old Persian cuneiform IS alphabetic as opposed to the other non-Persian cuneiform writings which are symbolic and were never used to write in Persian. Again, unlike non-Persian scripts, each cuneiform symbol in Old Persian represents a sound (as you will notice in your own video at 0:36), and these are used to make words. I am not sure what you mean by the introduction of alphabet during the "Roman era" as the romans were never in Iran and the Latin alphabet was never used in Iran.

By the way I am very thankful for your visit in Iran, although if I were your tour leader, I would take you to many other places. Iran has the potential of being a major global power not only in region. Why? Not because of skyscrapers, or large dams or Hydroelectric power plants, or ... because out of less 80 million population, it has more than 4 million students in its universities and more than 60 % of them are girls. Because of large number of scientific papers published by them annually.

By the way does it mean Dubai is more advanced than US!!!
