Plenty of space on Princes St for pedestrians, has been for at least the last 15 years, particularly as the quality of shops has deteriorated during that time period. I can't think of a more bleak time for the city centre. 👎🏻

The building looks awesome. However, there might be issues with the spectators not being able to see much of the football and athletics given the distance and the lack of seats available.

when this town was built, the avenues and roads were designed for vehicular traffic and to make travelling through easy and pleasurable. Councils have sought to "improve" on the original concept with disasterous consequences. Open up the bollarded ends and use the whole thing as the architects intended...... a free flowing traffic system. Take out the centre street parking and widen the pavements..... No you are not smarter than the Georgian architects.... far, far from it

What a joke the council are, trying to drive cars away frm the ciy centre in a bid to look more green. A lot of people, myself included work in the ciy centre and need to use the car as part of my job. You already have the most atrocious roads I've ever had the misfortune of driving on, temporary traffic lights and roadworks that 9 times out of 10 pop up with no warning and run well over the estimated finish, and a one-way road set-up that just causes more and more traffic back-ups! The council couldn't even run a bath nevermind a city, a capital city at that. Destroying Edinburgh one slowly but very surely. Why end the video with an invitation to take a survey when there isn't any mention of a survey on the website? Typical shoddy, shady and corrupt nonsense, from no other than the famous City of Edinburgh council.

Everybody complaining about lack of parking in this concept needs to wake up frankly . Edinburgh is one of the worst UK city's for traffic congestion . I think this design is a positive move towards a more pedestrianised/cyclist friendly environment in our city centre and I hope it happens. People need to get into the mindset that if you are fit and able to park your car away from the city centre and use public transport then you should do so.

Oh dear, in an area where parking is already an issue you go and remove parking altogether, businesses will be up in arms! Most business comes from those people parked in those bays. Where are all the cars supposed to go now? Let me guess, families like mine will have to suffer as we live near the city centre. Parking will become more expensive and restrictive than it already is. 2 thumbs down.

What happens with parking?

I know George Street and the city centre is the councils only concern, but isn't it possible that some money might be spent to improve the environment of local COMMUNITIES at any point? I'm sure this will thrill the tourists but let's get our priorities straight.
