This is the robot of the FLL team BotBrothers. At home, this robot was very reliable, never scoring under 580 pts, making the maximum once every two tries. In tournament, we have not been very lucky and never reached more than 570 points. Update: The team has not qualified for any international tournament. It was put in the original text but someone was complaining that we were whining. So I wa...
Hi ! My student said that he would like to develop a robot this season with reference to your driving base. Your driving base has a very harmonious and concise arrangement of parts. Would it be ok for them to use it as a reference? His driving base is made almost like the driving base in this video, and some parts can be changed.
Hi, do whatever you want. Anyway, the BotBrothers as FLL team does not exist anymore.
So is WRO still a thing with the Mindstorms Soccer? Even in 2022?
WRO football does not exists anymore. 2021 was the last year.
@@botbrothers4257 Damn that sucks. I've always wanted to go to a competition since I was young. Still gonna build my own soccer robot just for fun tho :)

That's my brother!
That's your BotBrother...
We met " Shapari " in Tenerife, Trash Trek season. Jimmy may not remember, but at his pit, Jimmy explained the robot to my students. He said he was nine years old, and he unfolded a very heavy "robot research note" . Efforts to create a top-notch robot were all contained therein. My students were very deeply impressed, and although it was a short period of time, many of the know-hows learned at that time were a great help for our next challenge. Saphari and Bot Brothers have had a great season every year and many teams have been impressed with them every year. Thank you very much.
Whaou, what a cool comment and memory. You are talking about something that happens 6 years ago!!! The cooperation between children is one of the best part of FLL and those international events are just amazing. What was the name of your team at Tenerife and from which country are you?
@@botbrothers4257 We are Team RED in South Korea. We got inspired by watching a lot of video of last season's robot match between saphari and the bot brothers before making the robot. Of course it's hard to be perfect like you...haha. Your robot is our classic. The robot's strategy, mechanics, programming, and game posture are all very helpful. We are always grateful.
@@LegoHJ I remember that we have seen your team one or two times in international tournaments. Thanks for your nice comments and the BotBrothers wishes you and your team all the best.

Thanks, we hope that you have enjoyed this tournament like we did (and that we have surprised you with this little show).

hey, can you recommend a book for the design of the robots, we will be participating but our current robot is not enough for these missions, if we cannot recommend a book or a video we would appreciate it.
You should have a look at the Internet site ev3lessons.com...

I'm sorry but you can score 5 more points by taking the remaining blue cube from the boccia shared mission and dumping it into the ring...
Maybe. But when playing with another team, are you sure that this is compatible with the "gracious professionalism" and the fair-play that should always be at the heart of FLL?
@@botbrothers4257 Indeed it is, since it is not affecting the other team in any way, you are just using the remaining cube, not the one sent over :)
@@abbabab966 Sorry, you are right. We have currently the head in the new challenge, so my memory of the challenge of last year is fading away...
GG, was an insane build
Thanks for the team.

Can you give building tutorials
I am sorry but this robot and its attachment have been dismantled to prepare for Cargo Connect...
@@botbrothers4257 that is ok
The kids build this?
Yes, in around 8 months...
Cool
Wow this is insane would have loved to see you in Greece you would have crushed it.
Maybe next year. I hope you have enjoyed your tournament.
@@botbrothers4257 Yup!
Congratulations! Great video.
Does it count when the phone is still home?
Yes, because it is on the mat.
whrere did you get the robot from???
The team has built it using a Spike Prime, 4 motors and two light sensors...
Did you design your own attachments and robot?
The team did that of course, like all FLL teams.
@@botbrothers4257 oh just wanted to know lol
also how did u change the attachments so quickly?
how did u build this robot?
@@user-kf6gs3gc6z The robot has been built with Lego parts and children that are playing Lego almost since they were born... No

Is it python or scratch?
Python... But Scratch is also generating Python code at the end.
That is REALLY good!
Thanks
Do you program with the python or the scratch version of spike prime ?
Python. The goal to move to Spike was to learn Python (something new after so many years with EV3 graphic language).
Ok, thanks for the reply. At the moment we are using ev3 but with python too, but next season we‘re about to use the spike...
is spike really that much better then EV3?
please could u do a video about spike robot design

@@botbrothers4257 Don't you have 3D models or something? Teams usually build their robots in Lego CAD software as part of their documentation :)
@@abbabab966 Sorry but we have nothing. The team is not using any CAD program.
What is the difference between the large and the small spike motors
I guess more torque...
Also man kann ja auch 600 Punkte fahren( siehe unser Lauf)🤣👌 Ihr müsstet halt den Blauen Würfel vom Boccia Model noch mitnehmen und auch in den Zielbereich bringen
You are right but it is difficult to see your run if you do not give more information about who you are...
Hat ja am Samstag noch nicht so gut funktioniert😉
Believe it or not, this robot is crazy stable. In the last 20 runs, we had 10 maximum scores and all scores above 560pts. On Saturday, eleven seconds after the start, the robot just freeze... As it is impossible to replay the first mission because of the red part, it was lost for us. Of course, we have never seen the robot freeze before... we might make a funny video about that in June, stay tuned. FLL can be very cruel sometimes, but it might be the reason we like it.
@@botbrothers4257 Our SPIKE robot had problems like that too just restart the SPIKE hub
Amazing control and alignment, I like the way of departure from the base, no precision needed but rely on the line tracing to make the gear changing so fast. And perfect straight line following (must be combined with gyro etc). We had a lot of issue with Spike Prime medium motor “stuck” issue maybe because of torque, is that why you use two large motor to drive all attachments? Also, what wheel do you use for the rear wheels?
The team has never used the smaller motor with the spike because there was enough place on the robot to put 4 big motors. They are using the Lego part 56145 as rear wheels.
@@botbrothers4257 Thanks a lot!
It's amazing, i liked a lot the alignment, can you show me how did you do it?
I am sorry but I do not understand your question...
@@botbrothers4257 im saying about the aligment with colour sensor, for example for example at minute 1:35.
@@hebertcampos9276 I have to ask the kid that programmed that. I might see him tomorrow...
@@botbrothers4257 thanks
@@hebertcampos9276 The team is using two light sensors in intensity mode. The speed of each wheel is calculated depending on the value given by the light sensor that is on the same side of the robot than the wheel. The formula is something like "Wheel speed = sensor intensity - (intensity of white - intensity of black)". You will have to adapt it to your robot.
Amazing job! Are you still participating in FLL?. My team would love to have a meeting with you :)
Yes, but the team is now different, one has gone and there are two young ones. Only two are speaking English. Where are you from?

this is wicked cool!! great job!
Nice color-coding :). One year at awards the judges said that our attachments reminded them of power rangers because of all the color-coding we did.
Ive been meaning to ask how do you count the tree as 12 levels? all units are bridged (-the blue one on top) which means they all score only 5 levels +(1 level from the blue one) which means only 6 levels score. So how did the referee count them? thanks in advance
You should play with an online scorer (google-> city shaper online scorer), you will understand...
@@botbrothers4257 yeah that's how I count, I'm talking about "bridging" it was explained in the updates
@@markg5465 I am sorry but I am not sure I understand what you mean. The only thing I can tell you is that at the competition, the referees have counted the points like the online scorer.
markg546 bridging is only considered for stacks in circles, not for the treehouse mission
@@vacalt9240 Every block that you put on the tree small branches are counting for 15 pts. If you put this block in a circle (not counting the color matching ines) brings 5 points per high. So the small blocks are 5 pts and the bigger one maximum 10 (depending on the way they are placed). So putting all the blocks on the small branches of the tree can bring you 5 pts more per block.

Yes if we can
@@botbrothers4257 what do you think about fll
We like it very much. This year was our 7th year. We are quite new at the WRO. Last year was our first year with the football two robots against two robots (In Germany, there is also a category with one robot against one). Are you also participating in the FLL?
Are you go to wro football to hungary ?
I am the leader of the Moroccan champion team(next kids) who qualified for the international FLL tournament in Detroit I want to ask you 2 questions: How is it that you are not qualified when you had a very good score yet we had barely 380 points? I really wanted to meet you in Detroit😧😟 what is the subject of your innovative project?
Because FLL is not just a robotic tournament and because there are a lot of very good team in Central Europe (around 1000 teams altogether). Our project was about to better adapt children playground to children with disabitlities.
Erm why are there 5 white blocks 4 on the tree one on the white circle
There are only 3 white blocks on the tree... It must be some yellow block looking like white.
Can u send me the photo of how u arranged ur design and build for treehouse
Sorry but this robot does not exist anymore and I have no pictures. The only thing that is left is this video...
Oh shit tree 🙂
you done the german tournament?
Central Europe, Germany is in the Central Europe group with 6 others countries.
How many points did the winner of the tournament get
525 in the three first run. They made 550 in the playoff.
This is vere good robot shame you guys didn’t qualify for any international rounds. Our competition is in 4 days but our robot can only do 450
It is a good score. Could be more than enough. Good luck!!!
@BotBrothers thank you Best of luck for next year (if you guys choose to compete next year)
Hey, really impressed by ideas, esp the bridge flag one :) I read that the robot was destroyed, which is a pity just 2 questions: 1: What didnt work that you got 570 points? 2: How did you make lifter (for the tree) so stable? Thanks in advance
The robot has not been destroyed but disassembled. The Lego pieces will get a new life. 1) It was always something different, sometime, the tower crashed down, some other time, the building on stick crashed down, the elevator got back to the start position, the crane did not work... At home, the reliability was crazy but not so at the tournaments... 2) The way I understand it, you have to support the three pieces of green plastic. If you look at 2:00, it is clear.
@@botbrothers4257 yup, that's what I meant by destroy 😅... I got the support system I'm just interested in the arm that raises all the blocks.
