Can You Trust Your Bible? Lesson 4-The Yardstick SD 480p
What a wonderful lesson in these dark days. There is hope in the Word of God. It gives me comfort knowing that our suffering will be no more when we get to Heaven.
The unknown uttered parable with duel fulfillments Matthew 11/13For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah, the one being about to come. 15The one having ears, let him hear! Matthew 11/13For all the prophets and the law prophesied until Elijah. The one being about to come, has not come yet but you will say Elijah has come he was John let's see what happened earlier in chapter 11 of Matthew 2And John, having heard in prison the works of the Christ, having sent two of his disciples, 3said to Him, “Are You the coming One, or are we to look for another?” 4And Jesus answering, said to them, “Having gone, relate to John what you hear and see: You see John was already in prison when Jesus spoke about him in what seemed to be regular speech but indeed was a parable, you see after Jesus fasted 40 days angels ministered to him so of course he knew what was to come about. So let's fill in the blanks Matthew 14/1At that time Herod the tetrarch heard the news of Jesus, 2and he said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead, and because of this, the miraculous powers are working in him.” 3For Herod, having seized John, bound him and put him in prison, on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip... Speaking of Herod this is recalling past events so John is in prison as we know he sent word to Jesus by two disciples (11/2) continues down in 14th chapter 8And having been urged on by her mother she says, “Give me here upon a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9And the king having been grieved, on account of the oaths and those reclining with him, he commanded it to be given. 10And having sent, he beheaded John in the prison. ...John is beheaded in Prison, do you think Jesus didn't know that would happen? 11/13For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. 14And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah, the one being about to come. John didn't resurrect or do anything from time he sent two disciples to Jesus in chapter 11 and Jesus spoke a parable about him, if it wasn't a parable prophesy than all John/Elijah did was get beheaded and died after Jesus prophesied about John and it says in Malach 4/5Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. What does Malachi 4 say about the dreadful day of the Lord before when Elijah comes verse 1 For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the Lord of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.... That certainly didn't happen when John die nor when Jesus died everything being burnt up which doesn't happen until sometime after the witness of revelation 11 is killed and raised Malachi 4/2But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. 3You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts. Back to Matthew 11 15The one having ears, let him hear! 16But to what will I compare this generation? It is like little children sitting in the markets and calling out to others, 17saying: ‘We piped for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge and you did not wail.’ 18For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and of sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her deeds.” 18For Elijah neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold a man, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and of sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her deeds.” See the coming one the Elijah about to come isn't literal patriarch Elijah, he is not going to live a perfect life as his Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God because always perfect, see the coming one is the Son of Man a sinner who did come eating gluttonously drinking as a drunkard but when his calling came him now being Elijah he stopped eating gluttonously and stopped being a drunk but is said to him "He has a demon" because he reveals the oracles their ministers have not know neither have they known them for they esteem their pastors more than the one with the high priest calling of the Lord and of God. Matthew 16/13And Jesus having come into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was questioning His disciples saying, “Whom do men pronounce the Son of Man to be?” (why doesn't Jesus say whom do men pronounce me to be?) 14And they said, “Some indeed, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He(Jesus) says to them, “But whom do you pronounce Me to be?” (oh look he does ask that, than who is the Son of man? Hint its the coming one witness of rev 11 who dies and is raised after three days) 16And Simon Peter answering said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17And Jesus answering, said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in the heavens.... Notice no one knew who the Son of Man was, neither did Jesus mention anything about them being blessed for saying John the Baptist when they answered that when Jesus asked whom do men say the Son of Man is.. Matthew 17/10And the disciples asked Him, saying, “Why then do the scribes say that it behooves Elijah to come first?” 11And answering He said, “Elijah indeed comes and will restore all things. 12But I say to you that Elijah already is come, and they did not know him, but did to him whatever they desired. Thus also, the Son of Man is about to suffer from them.” 13Then the disciples understood that He spoke to them concerning John the Baptist..... See the disciples understood it was John yet John was already dead when this was spoken notice he said Elijah indeed comes and will restore all things. Nothing was restored at that point, the obvious Jesus didn't die yet but the unobvious Elijah has already come and they did not know him and did whatever to him whatever they desired well its assumed John the Baptist the obvious since Jesus said before that John is Elijah but he was applying Johns attributes to the coming Elijah remember John only taught and did no miracles consequently in Habakkuk is say God would be in his temple and he would conceal his power. Matthew 10/23And whenever they persecute you in one city, flee to the next. For truly I say to you, you shall not have completed the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes. Sure sounds like its not complete until the fullness of the Nations come in. Romans 11/25For I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, so that you may not be wise in yourselves: A hardening in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Nations may come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it has been written: “The One Delivering will come out of Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob. 27And this is the covenant from Me to them, when I shall take away their sins.” (Confirming the 2nd covenant) 28For as regards the gospel, they are enemies on account of you; but as regards election, beloved on account of the patriarchs. 29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.(Son of man/ Elijah is called by God through Jesus) Matthew 17/22... Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, 23and they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.”.. See the duel fulfillments Jesus dies and the two witnesses who is actually one witness with Lord as other witness Rev 11/7 7And when they shall have completed their testimony, the beast coming up out of the abyss will make war with them, and will overcome them, and will kill them. Rev 11/11 And after the three and a half days, the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon those beholding them. Who knows the witnesses name? Rev 19/11And I saw heaven having been opened, and behold, a white horse, and the One sitting upon it called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12Now His eyes are like a flame of fire, and upon His head many diadems, having a name having been written, which no one except He Himself knows, 13and having been clothed with a garment having been dipped in blood. And His name is called The Word of God. Let's end this with a psalm that is obviously not about Jesus because it says a crooked heart will depart from me, Jesus has always been perfect Psalm 101/1 I will sing of merciful goodwill and judgement; to You, Yahweh, I will sing. 2 I will conduct myself wisely in a blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk about my home with a perfect heart. 3 I will set no wicked thing before my eyes; I have always hated the work of those who turn aside; it will not cling to me. 4 A crooked heart will depart from me; I will not approve what is wrong. 5 I will destroy whoever privately slanders his neighbor; I will not tolerate him who has a high look and a proud heart. 6 My eyes will be on the faithful of the land so that they might live with me; he who walks in a blameless way will serve me. 7 He who works deceit will not live in my house; he who tells lies will not stay in my sight. 8 In the mornings I will destroy all the lawless of the land so that I might destroy all the workers of iniquity from the city of Yahweh.
Lenin: Thank you, brother. Yes, amen to your statement "It is God's faithfulness that leads to our redemption, not ours."
This is awesome, Mimi! You are such a great example to us!
I haven't sung The Greatest Command since leaving East Tacoma Church of Christ in 2015. I remembered it and it felt so good to sing with y'all. I miss singing with a congregation so very much. Thanks for letting me be a part.
Great singing and a very encouraging gospel message.. glory to God Almighty 💖

Thank you for continuing to put videos on RUclips.
I enjoyed your sermon/lecture. I have been doing much research on Joseph of Arimathea who was a Sanhedrin. [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanhedrin] Joseph of Arimathea was a very wealthy man known as 'The Tin Man' in England where he did mining. Joseph of Arimathea was Mother Mary's Uncle. It is the duty of a family member to properly lay family members to rest which is why Joseph of Arimathea gave Jesus his own tomb and a proper burial. When Joseph of Arimathea asked for Jesus' body, the secret was out that he was related to Jesus. Joseph of Arimathea was forced to leave Israel and went to Glastonbury, England where he spent the rest of his life. When Joseph of Arimathea finally reached Glastonbury, England he drove his walking stick into the ground where it grew into a tree/bush. It is called the Glastonbury Thorn and flowers at Christmas and Easter. A piece is cut annually and given to the Queen of England. Joseph of Arimathea built the first place of worship in England. (I am a Mayflower Descendant and was raised as a Congregationalist, which is from the Pilgrims. The Pilgrims sailed to New England on the 'Mayflower' which is named after the Glastonbury Thorn. Joseph of Arimathea brought Christianity to England and the Mayflower (which is named after Joseph's Thorn) brought Christianity to America. A few years ago I became deeply interested in the Dead Sea Scrolls where the Essenes lived. It is said Jesus and John the Baptist studied at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. A Copper Scroll was found among the other scrolls. The Copper Scroll is on fine copper detailing where many treasures are buried. You will find much information about the Essenes and Qumran online, libraries, magazines, etc. I recently found that there is a connection with the Essenes and the Therapeautae. I found Jesus and the Therapeautae to be very similar. I recently purchased a beautiful Icon of Joseph of Arimathea you will find on this link. www.shutterstock.com/editorial/image-editorial/history-2544589a I hope you find my message interesting and informative.) Thank you.
I enjoyed the beautiful singing of God’s children. It brightened my day and lifted my spirits. I love congregational singing. 🙏
Such a blessing to have a loving church family and the ability to come together at a distance to be together and worship God.
I needed this lesson. Thank you, I'm one who is working on multiple tasks constantly and get easily distracted. I will make an effort to be more focused.
Our God is an awesome God forever and ever amen
I heard your governor has allowed worshipping together again. I'm so happy for you and look forward to seeing you back in your building!
5 Stars today!
Amazing sermon. I completely agree either everything's you said. The part about not giving harsh punishment for mistakes. Lying, Stealing, dangerous things and seliberate disobedience are the death penalty (lol) case in my house
Thank you so much for your continued posts. All of you who post for Waterview. You have kept me sane and growing. I seriously think of something Jason or Robert said when I am tempted to be peevish. One day, Lord willing, I will come visit y'all. ❤
I pray for an enduring faith despite my adversities. In Christ Name, I pray. Amen. Enjoyed your lesson very much. Have a good week.
Listened to this again. Very helpful. Thank you.
Watched Monday from Las Vegas NV
Thank you for doing these videos. I’m home bound and I can watch these videos and feel connected to my Christian family. I look forward to the time when I can actually come to services.
Excellent
Great lesson Robert! Thank you and please continue with this series. (Captain Kangaroo approves this comment) We almost felt like we were in your home with you. Gives thanks, for the Lord is good and His steadfast love endures forever.
Thank you for doing this. I know this is for your physical members in Texas but I am a faithful virtual attendee. 😊 I look forward to your posts and watch every one. Quite often, more than once. I even listen to them on the way to work. Waterview has been instrumental in helping me regain my spiritual footing that was lost upon my move to Las Vegas almost 5 years ago. I am a member of the church and have been for years. But still got lost in the desert. I'm back and you guys helped. God has been working mightily in my life. It has not been pleasent, but the results are showing; turning turmoil to peace. Then Covid 19. I am not afraid of the disease, I am afraid the government is going to destroy my way of life. Thank you for helping me through it. ❤
thank you for this lesson. It did make me think about my spiritual life. But I don't know a story about putting in the big rock first. I have watched this twice and now I need to know!
I was so happy to sing with y'all. My cat, unfortunately, is a critic....
I use to go there
Excellent sermon. Thank you. I needed this.
This is the first sermon on Ezekiel where the preacher didn't call the prophet crazy. As a result, I understand it better. I had always dismissed the crazy prophet. 😒
The Biblewheel: learn how the bible interprets the bible through numerical patterns. The study of numbers in the bible: [Genesis 21:29-31 KJV] 29 And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What [mean] these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves? 30 And he said, For [these] seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well. 31 Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them. "Sheba" means both "7" and "to swear" showing that numbers have spiritual meanings as well. Eight refers to oil, anointing and fatness (shemen). Ten refers to riches (esser). When you read the bible you'll see the similarities between the order of books and their stories along with each century and their stories: Biblewheel Post-Christian History Menu: thebiblewheel.blogspot.com/2018/01/biblewheel-church-history-menu.html Biblewheel Introduction: ruclips.net/video/pMil04vnoJA/видео.html The Biblewheel and History: ruclips.net/video/qlWWpp810bY/видео.html The Menorah/Candlestick and it's symbolism: thebiblewheel.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-menorah-candlestick-and-its.html The Seven Churches of Asia Menu: thebiblewheel.blogspot.com/2018/07/the-seven-churches-of-asia-menu.html My Facebook group page: facebook.com/groups/biblewheel/ If you want to get updates on the subject send me your email.
This was both fun and intellectually gratifying! I've listened to this series twice and I'm not done. Good stuff.😊
Wow. Just wow. Brilliant sermon. Thank you for sharing!
I love your jokes. And your sermons are filled with good teaching. Thank you
I was visiting my brother's family and was at Waterview and heard this sermon on 5/26/19. God's providence is amazing! God knew I needed to hear a preacher from the Church of Christ who would confirm what I already know about marriage. Marriage is 1 man 1 woman 4 life...and death is the ONLY THING that ends a marriage. Thank you for confirming that my marriage is still intact according to God, regardless of a divorce that was decreed by an earthly judge!
That was wonderful.
One of my favorite bible stories.
