More Charleston days

I think this must be the same visit in 1991 but am not sure. Obviously recorded with an old shoebox-sized VHS recorder so the quality is not so good.
The Daily Ride- Repairing the start switch on 2 TaoTao 90's
Просмотров 1275 лет назад
We've had these 2 TaoTao 90's for about 3 years now. They've given great service but have needed some minor repairs. The Start button on both these broke at the same time. I ordered replacement parts from Amazon, about $9.00 each, as I recall but the wiring harness was backward. Rather than spend time waiting for the correct switches we just pick up a couple of push button switches at the auto ...
The Daily Ride- A great weekend ride at River Ranch!
Просмотров 3005 лет назад
We got to the camp at River Ranch Friday night, built a fire, had some supper and went to bed. Saturday morning, after a good breakfast, we loaded up and headed out. We had a fantastic ride even if it was dry and dusty. We rode for almost 6 hours so were ready for a shower and some food when we got back. Some of the guys did a night ride and came in dusty and muddy about 11. I'm still ridiung m...
The Daily Ride- Trying out my new Honda Foreman Rubicon
Просмотров 1945 лет назад
Matt, Kyle and go to one of our regular riding spots to put my new Rubicon through its paces. I never intended to buy a Rubicon but the dealer made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It had a manual shift and I guess nobody but me wants manual anymore. I wanted a Foreman FM which they didn't have but did have the Rubicon FM which they sold me for the regular Foreman price. This was a fun ride as it...
The Daily Ride _ Swamp Stomping

Back in May Landon and I did a short trip to a backwoods swamp. It was only about 2 hours and was hot but we had a great time. Just for the record the giant mushroom is actually the base of a cabbage palm turned upside down!

My Butterfly Orchid is now in full bloom!
The Daily Ride -Butterfly orchid colony growing naturally
Просмотров 746 лет назад
I've been observing this orchid colony for 15 years or so. It's in a residential yard here in south Florida but gets no care of any kind. It used to be much larger and covered most of the trunk of this palm. There are only a few bloom stems showing as of May 7th. Compared to the one in my yard that I water daily my guess would be the lack of stems is due to how dry it's been. This colony extend...
The Daily ride- Florida butterfly orchid bloom 2018
Просмотров 846 лет назад
Hurricane Irma blew over many beautiful live oaks in south Florida. As they were cut up and hauled to the road I used that opportunity to gather air plants and any orchids I could find. This one is huge by my standards and sat under a tree for months until I decided to clean it up and give it a permanent home. I took it to my gardening bench, clipped off the old stems, picked out the thick laye...
The Daily Ride - The North Fort Myers Redneck Christmas Parade

The North Fort Myers Christmas parade "floats" are swamp buggies, Atvs, and other 4 wheel dive vehicles all " decorated" with lights. It covers about 6 miles of country roads and is great fun for everyone!
The Daily Ride - Replacing the rear axle on my 2006 Honda Foreman
Просмотров 83 тыс.6 лет назад
I've had to become my own mechanic since my 4 wheelers always needed something fixed. I'm not a mechanic but wth the help of You Tube videos I have gotten the courage to make necessary repairs. I forgot to record the brake panel and bearings going back together but that part is well covered by other YT videos.

We decided to try the other tubing hill and found it much faster. We clocked it at 38 mph! Great fun but cold!

The Daily Ride 11- Friday tortoise ride
6 years later and let me tell you Rick this helped tons have a blessed day and stay healthy.
skip how you got the brake drum off
Is this Charleston wv?
Hey thanks for your video you have helped this country. Gal !! So I dont need my husband to fix mine.thank you !! Thank you! He thinks i cant do it!! Im going to show him 😄
Go for it Rachel! Believe me, if I can do it you can to. It’s just turning wrenches. Let me know how it comes out.
Lol 😂 you got me laughing when you said your not even a shadetree mechanic
I have a 2000 450es foreman that im about to replace the bearings on Thanks nice 👍🏻 video !
I hope you put new gear oil in it
Considering that the video is over 2years old and it’s still running fine I’d say I remembered! I passed that on to one of my sons who rides it daily..it has gone through another set of bearings but otherwise runs great. I bought anew Rubicon which I love. Thanks for your comment!
He almost took your head off! Thanks for sharing
How do you get the bearing out of the housing? Im trying to replace my bearings in my rear end because i have rear end fluid leaking onto my left rear tire
I take the axle housing off and knock them out from inside. There is a tool you can get that is made to pull them out.
How did you do the left side of the axle
Thanks for sharing! this helped me out!
That quad needs a valve adjustment badly
How tight did you fighting the big nut on the end of the Axel
I didn't use a torque wrench but I cranked it down hard. I've had to replace these bearings every 6 months or so for years. My hope was that a new axle would solve the problem. I'm sorry to say it hasn't so I've replaced the OEM brakes with an add on set of disc brakes. That got rid of the brake drum cover which always leaked and was full of mud. Time will tell if this works.
@@rickparker8883 let us know how it works out and thanks
@@rickparker8883 how much gear oil does the rear take my Manual calls for 2.9 but it don't reach the level check bolt hole I guess its a miss print
Witch way did the bearing go on
My 420 rear axle shakes whem I slow down in 2nd gear what does that mean
so are the propane tanks under your workbench plan 2 when plan 1 fix the quad doesn't work
I had even noticed those tanks. I guess my son in law threw them there. Since this video was made we have pretty much finished the barn and moved the work table inside where we are out of the sun and rain. Plan 2 might be a plan someday! LOL! I got a 2018 Rubicon and given the Foreman to one of my sons. We just finished putting a rear disc brake setup on it which is a huge improvement.
Beautiful! I have one, and its spiking like crazy right now. And if you want to make them grow on other trees, move a few of them!😉🤗 bc they dont grow like most plants. I live in the Florida Keys (Big Pine Key) and I've only seen a few since Irma. So nice to see them growing up that tree💚
I spend a fair amount of time in the woods looking for them and have only found maybe a dozen. After Hurricane Irma i drove up and down roads looking over their storm-damaged oaks that they had piled at the curb. Actually found some really nice ones that way.
Was there 2 bearings and 2 seals in the rear right axle ? Housing
My foreman rear tires aren’t spinning. Wonder if this is the issue
It could be the splines on your axle are gone or possibly the whole rear end is shot. Start pulling it apart and see what you find.
600 hrs is nothing.
I live in Vero Beach Florida and I’m looking for a place to ride my atv where is this located
Alberto- River Ranch is near Lake Wales. Lots of guys from Vero ride there but you do have to buy a lot to do so. Lots are very cheap.
Matthew, Thank you. I do understand your concerns. I made the video on the spur of the moment because I couldn't find a YT video that addressed my problem. As I mentioned several times I'm obviously not a mechanic but was doing the best I could with what I had. I did direct people to another YT channel run by a real mechanic and a very good one at that. He has many videos up that cover some parts of a rear axle replacement but not on a Foreman. This video was meant to show people that a non-mechanic could do it and that it wasn't a hard job. If someone else makes a good video that covers all the steps I'll take this one down.
I wouldn't take it down, maybe add a RUclips Annotation to the video that explains how you figured out which seal goes where.
I shouldn’t have been rude and I do apologize for that but most people look to RUclips for a little help with what they are working on and it’s aggravating to watch something that doesn’t help at all. It makes me think I could have been working on what ever it is instead of watching RUclips and I’d be closer to finishing the project
What was the purpose of the video? You didn’t show anything worth watching I just waisted a few minutes of my life I can’t get back and you need to adjust them rattling ass valves while your screwing around
Matthew, I put it up in the hope that it would help someone else make the same repair. If I had any idea a guy as smart as you would come along I would have waited for you to post a video. It's "wasted," waist is what your pants go around.
What exactly did you show that was helping the world. One minute you was working on it and the next somebody was fixing to back it off the ramp and taking the break cables off just gives you a chance to loose your hardware
@@matthewjohnson2495 - Maybe I should make a video explaining how to stop watching a video you don't like, apparently you'd benefit from it.
I bought the same four wheeler for 200 bucks and am now restoring it
You have my admiration or sympathy! Lol! That's a big job. I love my old Foreman but admit that I just bought a 2018 Rubicon. I was spending too much time repairing it and had gotten to the point that I didn't ride without another ATV along to pull me home if need be. They are great ATV's ion my opinion.
Rick Parker well i work at a shop and am fortunate enough to know how to work on it and get everything at cost, but great video man
Sounds like you should be doing a video of your rebuilding process! That would be very interesting and cover a lot of repair procedures. Rookies like me need all the help we can get.
Rick Parker well once all my parts come in i will for sure do it
@@greatmindof1201 - Good deal! Let us know so we can watch.
My 420 rancher is making a popping noise from the rear end. And it kind of sits higher on one side than the other. I'm thinking one of my axel bearings is busted or maybe the axel itself???
As I said, I'm not a mechanic but that would be my guess as well. Sounds like it's crushed.
Rick Parker thanks
@@johnlocklear9093 It could really be anything. Axle bearings, ring gear, pinion gear. My money would be on the gear. This is usually caused by water getting into the rear axle housing and causing the hypoind gear lube to fail. You should be changing that fluid often if you go through water.
What the part number for the o ring
Paul, No idea. I bought all the parts as a kit.
Nice job, that tractor with the auger sure makes easy work. I'm getting ready to put a roof and deck on my camper at RR.
Yes, it does! We borrowed it from our neighbor to test it out and it sure works like a champ. Even though the ground is sand it was full of palmetto roots so it would have been tough going with a post hole digger. Good luck on your roof and deck!
Cool Video my family and Iwanna get a dog sled so we can go sledding with our Husky Freddie. Where is this place at it is very cool.
That was in Breckenridge with Good Times Adventures but I understand there are lots of other places you can go to get a taste of dog sledding. It was great fun but the truth is that the "driver" is riding like the passenger. There is no steering involved with the dogs simply following the snowmobile. We all loved it and would do it again tomorrow!
