Ducati Monster SP - Termignoni Slip-on & Decat (Sound Only)

As great a bike that the SP variant of the Ducati Monster 937 is, the sound is really let down due to euro 5 compliance and none removable baffles. Removing the catalytic converter and replacing it with a link pipe from shift tech or similar, truely livens things up. Deeper sound giving more presence on the road that shouldn’t get too many looks from the neighbours during those cold start morni...

Hi and thank you for the video, I would like to add speakers to the back (my life does not have them) and possibly to replace the ones in the front with something better than stock. I am not planning to add an amp if not necessary. Do you know if in the versions that are missing the back speakers at least have the cable there? Many thanks, Leonardo
Hi Leonardo, I’m afraid you’ll most likely need a DSP amp to convert the signal as the infotainment system is digital not analog & also won’t have enough power for the speakers & will need to be wired up to the additional speakers. I believe the door cards should be the same throughout the range. Considering mine wasn’t a HK so lacked the rear door card tweater so can only confirm that no wiring was in place to simply plug & play which likely means you’ll have to wire them up to the amp.
Hey mate you wouldn’t believe it but I have your number plate now 😂😂😂 did you sell your bike ?
Great choice, I did & the new owner didn’t want to continue paying the annual cost. I was the 2nd owner of the plate, 1st owner had it for almost 20yrs since the Gen1! He also didn’t pay a number of NSW tolls that remain online unpaid. Did you put it on a Gen3?
Yeah mate a 25th Anniversary, I just bought one of these stands and was doing some research , what are the odds 😂
I also have a monster sp thanks for the upload very helpful
Hi can u tell me what wind deflectors you have on the golf thanks
No problem, there by elite garage. They have an eBay shop; www.ebay.com.au/itm/403492487729?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=_XFdOZLITWO&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=D5XQyhy4Qve&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
So where do I get this exhaust from
Depends on your country of origin as local dealers import them, if local to Australia then can order direct or through VagGarage; www.vaggarage.com.au/products/xforce-vw-golf-r-mk8-varex-valved-cat-back-exhaust-system?srsltid=AfmBOorwNhhonUI-o63dTHKzsJ7I0eRel_k-5v8cOWT38uPskTMAjiLT
Bro are the db killers welded in this monster sp one of my friends said that i cant remove the db killer?
Yeah, all Termi slip on’s come with welded baffles that can’t be removed as nobody would buy the full system otherwise & just decat with link pipe. 😅 Sounds a lot deeper, true monster sound that I was looking for. 👍
Yo bro my father bought the monster sp can send the crash guards and all three safety equipment u installed we have been searching for it for a long time.
Thanks for the view & comment. Check out my other video for full details.
Love the bike, looking at getting one soon. How did you tint the headlight?
I had STEK PPF DynoSmoke installed.
Take a shot every time he says: ehmmmm
Lol, you’d finish a bottle before the end of the video. Certainly something I need to work on.
Nice bike
It’s worth noting that Ducati’s guidance specifies using fuel with a minimum octane rating of RON 95, not 95 exclusively. They actually recommend a range of 95-98 RON with up to 10% ethanol content. The manual also highlights that using fuel with higher than 10% ethanol can damage the engine and void the warranty. So while RON 95 is fine, opting for a higher premium fuel like 98 RON is acceptable-and even recommended if you’re aiming for peak performance within the engine’s capabilities. - At least according to their manual.
@@xanderworker5449 Agree, the manuals are published based on manufacturing recommendations however in practical testing Ducati themselves will always recommend 95, even prior to purchasing & during servicing to remind you of this. I have only ever used 98 & tuned bikes using this fuel however if you use a genuine Ducati shop they will advise against it.
@benwoodruff4466 Thanks for the detailed info! I also have a Monster S (2023), but no one passed along that detail to me. 😅 I was just told RON 95 minimum with a max 10% ethanol content. Here, Shell offers two V-Power options: Diesel and Petrol. Most of the time, the petrol’s octane rating isn’t listed, but when it is, it shows as 98-so I’m guessing 98 is the standard across the country.
How would you rate the bike overall 1-10? Thanks
@@LifebyDesign For my first naked I must say I’m impressed & the amount of attention it gets surprised me. I did want Cruise Control only for when I’m in a tunnel or unknown speed camera zone & the overpriced muffler it comes with as stock, you can’t remove the baffles. So for these reasons I’d give it a generous 8/10.
What wireless charger do you have in that little cubby?
Unsure if your referring to the quad lock wireless charger or the OEM wireless dock that sits under that sits under that cover.
How do you find the fit and finish of the stealth mirrors?
Thanks for the comment, I had to buy extenders but other than that, great.
Good review with useful info about the mods made. I’d be interested to hear how living with the Monster is going..particularly the heat issue (should really have waited a few months until we hit the Australian summer).
Thanks for your comment. I generally ride with leathers and have never noticed excessive heat, even in traffic. These aren’t really meant for the city where heat would be a problem in the summer, much more suited on open back rounds. 👌
What front spoiler do you have on the bumper?
Maxton Design, think that one was version 5. Check their website.
@@benwoodruff4466 thank you
Nice setup! Could you share what brand that protection bar for the rear???
I presume you’re referring to the muffler crash protection, for the price I was very surprised at the quality; a.aliexpress.com/_mL1kw2U

It’s an absolute nightmare since they relocated the OEM DV. I ended up using a tuner garage in the end & they had great difficulty. You install from under the car, using an extension bit to get to the screws. Good luck 😅
nice bike but how many " errrmm" can you say in 12 mins of narration
Tell me about it, presenting online is certainly not my strong point. Just excited to share this great bike.
Also where did you the rear slider from the one that protects the termi’s
Another AliExpress special; a.aliexpress.com/_mqDHsuG
Cheers mate I will give them a try.
Hi where did you get the red Ducati extension bits for ur Rizoma mirrors. I have same bike brought same Mirrors but didn’t come with red extension bits I have searched everywhere online.
Only place I could find them was AliExpress. The URL extension to the advert has expired so just search the site. 🤝
I had the monster plus and the suspension was too meh. SP is better. I traded it in for a streetfighter V4 that I got a great deal on since it was a 23 leftover $4000 off. With the amount of mods you did why didn't you just go for a SF v4?
Just traded my V4S for this. The Streetfighter is way to much for the streets where I ride ( tight curves) and I wanted something I could wail on. Dont do track anymore so……..
@@stevelesnick6268 but the street fighter is not a track bike at all! My Suzuki GSX R1000R whoops it’s ass. The Ducati is like a go to Starbucks bike and is comfortable to ride to work and stuff for me. Just test ride a GSX R1000R for the twisties and you will be amazed. And it’s actually kind of comfortable. I’m 6 foot about 245 pounds and it doesn’t hurt my back. The Monster does have a tighter turning circle in the street fighter though especially like really tight curves and slow stuff it was like a motor scooter agile. The Suzuki is still better though… just take all your corners in second gear in anything you ride & you’ll never have a problem.
Thanks for your comment, I paid just over $19k aud for the bike that included all on roads & was brand new, all the little extras has brought the cost to around $23k aud. A base Streetfighter V2 was around $25k so I remain happy with the purchase as it also generates a lot of conversion, a base Streetfighter would just be another Streetfighter in the car park. 😅
@ base huh? Lol the only “advantage” the SF V4S has is a wiz electronic bang suspension. I also don’t have a base model anymore…I put on an Arrow exhaust and had a BT Moto tune unlock the engine and turn off the Euro 5 Nannies from the environmental nutters! I am pushing almost 210 hp at the wheel. Ducati restricts power in 1,2,3,4 gears and turned that off as well. ;) The only bike that can beat mine is a science project Ninja H2 that is not very attractive.
@ Bike sounds great, I do hope you take that beast to the track as all that power is completely wasted on the road.
Does any modifications like this void factory varanty?
@@mrgr No, well certainly not for all the recalls I’ve been into the dealership for. You can always reset back to the original values if you were concerned. Highly recommend getting the tool though. 👌
Hey mate, where in Sydney did you get the Stek film applied?
@@wisdomlikesilence Roadbloc in Alexandria, Oliver is the only one I trust with my cars & bikes. 👌
@@benwoodruff4466 Okay, thanks Ben
replace termignoni with sc project twin, trust me you will not regret it, if you tell me which what camera you filmed it i can give a good comparison :D
Thanks for your comment, was looking at either the single titanium Mivv or SC SC1-S, my only issue with the SC is they use a two baffle system for Euro 5 so aren’t truly removed but the Mivv comes completely out. 🎶🎶🎶 I used a 15 Pro Max to film. This other video shows what I’m referring too, don’t fancy taking a drill to a $1k+ exhaust; ruclips.net/video/QBCGtScF0K8/видео.htmlsi=v_76Bywn4nSvWAW1
@@benwoodruff4466 why would you remove a silencer when you are already decat. Its plenty loud enough, if you want something louder you should have gotten a V4. and the sc1-s is ugly af, the twin crt-t looks and sounds alot better, especially in carbon
Which decat pipe did you go with? Did you remap? Cheers from SA 👍
Thanks for your comment, in my other video you’ll find an in depth review. Link pipe is by Shift Tech in the US, I didn’t remap as such but did install the rapid race evo module that has a pre map installed and auto tunes as you ride, adapting to the conditions. ruclips.net/video/l1cw1iYqENM/видео.htmlsi=rY4ATQIxj2q-5_ND
Hoi how to put the backup back after an mistake (android)
Hi, all changes are saved within the OBD app so you can revert the changes. You are also encouraged to create a backup prior to any changes so you can simple load the backup file if you do something that really effects the car.
What a beauty
Does it emit a lot of heat from the engine? I live in Florida and I worry about that. TIA
@@J-Rod73 Hi, thanks for your comment. Having only just bought the Bike I cannot comment as Sydney is similar to Florida in the summer but as it’s the winter riding the bike in traffic is not bad at all. Ducati are known to get quite warm but I can’t say it’s been uncomfortable when stuck in traffic.
@@benwoodruff4466 OK, thank you!
I have the ‘23 monster sp and ride in NYC on a daily basis. Once the temps get to 30c or 86f… city ride becomes unbearable. However, if you are on open highways going over 60 mph or 90 kmph, it’s fine.
@@riso2584 Thank you for that info. Do all naked bikes have this issue, or just the Monster?
@@J-Rod73 not sure, this is the only bike I’ve ever owned. But for what it’s worth, Ducati is notorious for running hot.
I've heard that this bikes runs on one cylinder when in neutral because, if not, they heat the pilot seat too much.
Thanks for the comment, not heard that before. Mine was definitely a faulty spark plug though.
Never heard of that.
It's the V4 engines that have rear cylinder deactivation not the V twins.
beautiful bike mate! Hope it will run problem free moving forward!
Thanks, I’m sure it was a random fault. They did say it was the first they had in where a spark plug had failed at 1k kms. 🤞 It’s smooth sailing here on out.

Install Video Location Ventil???
It is an absolute nightmare location, you can only access the ‘R’ diverter valve from under the car. To access the 3 screws to remove then reattach you need a variety of extension tools & a lot of patience. I had my local mod garage fit it and even they almost lost the will while installing it. Good luck, I do love the sound though. 🎶
Hey TIDY R, what sun shade visor was that for your GTI?
Hi David, thanks for your question; www.prospeedracing.com.au/Cobb-Tuning-Covercraft-Sun-Shade-Subaru-WRX/STI-01-07-811620
Awesome. Gonna get me a red one for my new S3. Kid has gotten a bit bigger (7,5yrs), and let's be honest, the big old maxi cosi is a terrible eyesore in my new car :)
They’ll love it, comfy enough, secure with good elevation. The backrest can be removed if it pushes into their back.
How do you find the quality of the usp engine cover? I've been eyeing one off for my Tiguan.
Thanks for your comment, I love the cover & highly recommend it. Quality is top notch & cannot complain about the price when compared to other known brands. Really cleans up the engine bay.
@@benwoodruff4466 Good to hear, the price is what's got me looking. Other option is the cobbs unit which locally are going for $444, but I find it a little tacky and cheap looking compared. Looking at the usp unit can be had for about $440 delivered. 👍
I must say I saw the Cobb on a Tiguan yesterday along with a CF intake and looked very nice. You’ll be happy either way, the Cobb is a lot more in Australia. Good luck with your decision.
Oh! I wanted to ask, did you run into any weird audio or infotainment issues when you did the install?
Not an infotainment issue as such although these are digital out only so you’ll need a DSP or amp with an inbuilt DSP for the speakers and/or sub. You may experience strange feedback or static front the front speakers particularly the front tweets when you rev the engine with no audio but this can be programmed out with a laptop.
@@benwoodruff4466 okay! Very good! Thanks for the info
Thanks for putting this together! Appreciate the info
That closed loop should be on the other side that’s why you are struggling
Should have really made a follow up, was so much easier once I knew how & developed more confidence moving the ole girl around. 😅
I put a 10" powered sub in mine also... the stock Harman Kardon just didn't cut it.
You may see in my other video I went with a complete JL Audio set up, it absolutely pumps now. 👌
I'm trying to decide between this or the AWE Track Catback for my MK8 R
Very different systems, also depends where your located. If local to Australia I’d strongly recommend Xforce, if in the US it depends if Xforce are able to ship the system to your state due to emission laws. Also AWE are a basic catback system, Xforce have the benefit of complete control over the valves & sound either from the remote or upgraded Bluetooth option on the phone including the geo mode for those early morning starts. 😅
Dumb question, does this re-use the factory exhaust valve motors and once installed, this set up just takes control of them using the obd2 connection and the app based configurations you set?
Thanks for your comment, with Xforce they have designed their system with the valve inside the centre piece of the rear muffler as the tips are interchangeable unlike other designs so you can swap them out for larger or different finishes, this single valve is then wired to the smart box in the boot then connected to the OBD port so you retain your race/comfort settings to open & close the valves. If you opt for the Bluetooth box that I highly recommend you can really customise the sound & set the geo location at home to open/close when close to home, a must once the full system is released to keep the neighbours happy. 😅 www.carmodsaustralia.com.au/XForce-ESVW13VKCS-3-Cat-Back-Exhaust-System-w/-Varex-Golf-R-MK8-22?cq_src=google_ads&cq_cmp=18462210209&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_med=pla&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZiZQsNpBx-5IQETFXCKVuujJZbQg1v7z9LOEZhHuLiUmkUoyuMw9rBoC-1kQAvD_BwE
May I ask what brand are those window rain guards?
Thanks for the comment. From Elite Garage, they have an eBay shop; www.ebay.com.au/itm/403492487729?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=_XFdOZLITWO&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=D5XQyhy4Qve&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Can you think That this exhaust will quiet down a exhaust from a audi rs3 1000 hp tuned engine on this car to 75 decibel?
Lol, why would you want to on a built motor like that but can vouch for their valved system & the geo mode to set a home location & close the valves for a quieter cold start.
MCM brought me here! :)
