Walks on the Wild Side: Britain's Exotic Pets
We all love our pets. Most of us opt for fairly conventional companions, like domesticated cats and dogs. But what happens when people choose rather more exotic friends? We went to find out, via meetings with wolfdogs, crocodiles - and some very unusual cats.

Do you want a shoutout
YOU ARE SO GOOD!!!
You are so GOOD at making VIDEOS and you just earned yourself a SUBSCRIBER!!!
you just earned yourself a subscriber👍👍👍👍👍🙌🙌👐
Omg sir love your context!!!!🙏🙏🙏🙏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏🖐🖐🖐
Such a sigma video
ALL OF YOU ARE HEARTLESS PEOPLE, BAD WITH NO ETHICAL OR MORAL. THE CRIME YOU COMMIT AGAINST NATURE JUST ON A WHIM WITHOUT CARING ABOUT THE ANIMAL, YOU WILL PAY SOONER THAN LATER. YOU DONT DESERVE TO LIVE IN A WORLD TO WHOM YOU HURT WITH YOUR ACTS OF CRUELTY
They should be on the banned list
Totally wrong, to keep wild animals in captivity
hi ur a teacher at my school LMAO
Yes you can live with a wolf.
Poor wolf. They are pack animals and cannot be happy with humans. It is much better to get a dog that looks like a wolf. Malamute, Husky, Samoyed, Tamaskan, czech wolfdog...
That was awesome mate, you should be on the BBC, I have just subscribed
i didn't know Rick Astley was into animals)
Excellent documentary. Well presented and candid about the selfishness of people who buy these kinds of Wolf-dogs. This is not a good idea. I’m so disappointed that people continue to buy these animals for their own selfish reasons.
Some people like me don't know what a subscriber is. Long story, but I don't like computers and the fact that in most cases there is no explanation how to do anything. And if you find something it's confusing because they don't explain enough or assume you know more than you do. Plus , it's a hassle.
up to us and people what we want to do. everyone is sick of these shows and excuses for regulations. let people and life be. the kid got found in his room by his mom... what one less person to pay tax? come on now...
Man this video is really good especially since it was made by two people. Good job bois
Wild animals should be left in the wild.
Well done, with fair assessments! I am close to acquiring a serval, and the 3 I have met so far are loved by their owners. I do believe the obverse is true as well!
Get a regular cat. Too many times they end up euthanized or malnourished because the owner wanted something to stroke their ego
@@GrayGoosey1134 who the hell buys a pet for their ego?
An exotic pet is usually wanted because it "looks cool and different" and they can show it off to people. Lots of people do, look at the people who buy tigers and leopards and walk them on leashes. It's a great way of saying "Look at me!"
@@lastsonofthewest2444 pit bulls are often bought as an ego boost, which is a contributing reason as to why they are involved in so many attacks.
@@smashlee6181 Pitbulls are hideously ugly, servals are gorgeous, funny, interesting, smart, and purr. Not about ego, I want one as a friend, and it gives me something beautiful to look at that will not cheat on me, nag me, and then take 50% of my net worth. :-)
Britian has the strictest exotic pet laws: You cannot own, Crocodilians, Bears, Monkeys, Foxes, Wolves, Dingoes, New Guinea Sing Dog, Jaguars, Lemurs, Breed of dogs (WHY!?!), Big Cats, Pure Wolf, Slow Loris, Pudu, Penguins, Ocean Sunfish, Swans, Wild Ducks, Peacocks, Wild Turkeys What you can own: Wild Cat Mixes (domestic))) Wolfdogs, Serval Cats, Some “exotic” fishes, Dogs, Cats, Pig, Cows, Sand Dune Cat, And Domestic Turkey, And More Domestic Animals.... Ik not like chile (laxest laws, but requires wild habitation :D
Damn just realized you did this all by yourself not part of a company. Very well done you earned me as a subscriber.
sooo underrated!!!
11:58 She needs to paint her walls instead of spending all her money on cat food
They aren’t “exotic pets”. They are “wild animals people are keeping in their homes”. They are not pets in any way shape or form.
Serval's and Caracal cats have been kept by humans as pets since before humans invented writing.
I didn't realise that this was a regular yt channel until I looked at the comment. I really thought this was a tv show
Anyone know of any contacts in Uk keeping big cats privately
just get a husky
Wendy for goodness sakes! Lol
Very nice and good job.
These poeple that keep these pets are a bunch of dickheads they are the ones that scream safe the animals ext ext but they are only thinking of themself what about the animals that is lifeing in a cage for the rest of there lifes because these dickheads like to look at them
Great video! Interesting
I have a hybrid wolfdog and he's a large baby. If you respect the animal it was respect you. That's how that works
😂 Yes go tell a wild wolf how much you respect it. It will show its respect to you by eating your face off. Hell zookeepers have been killed by animals they’ve tended to for years and would have sworn they’ve developed a close bond with. It in no way works like that.
@@Savannah_Simpson often zookeepers tease animals and dont respect them
Ah yes, go tell that to the countless people who have owned and respected their "pet" chimpanzees and "pet" tigers and ask their mangled bodies how far their respect went LOL
@@GrayGoosey1134 🍏 and 🍊. 😂
@@Savannah_Simpson yes a ‘wild wolf’, ‘zoo trained animals’, not near the same as a born and raised wolf dog. If all you have is a straw-man argument, who the hell said respect for a wild animal will be reciprocated? No one. Just you trying to conflate with what the op said. Try again, shit for brains.
I really like this normally it's just attacking animals in general
no animal in dangerous. its the people that influence them or threaten them then they lash out just as a child would when they throw toys
No, not at all, animals have instincts, a tiger will hunt, if you are it's target it will kill you, that's dangerous
Your joking right? Would you say a lion isn’t dangerous?
Us humans are the most dangerous
Loved this, helped me with my college work, some great information.
Glad to hear it!
U should have more subscribers
I agree i habe inky come across this video nkw how odd is that
Wolf dogs are not exotic at all at least not in America
No but America let you keep a lot more exotic type animals than here in the UK. In some states in America you can still keep chimpanzees which in my mind is wrong on so many levels.
Jan Maria Blackwell totally agree
America is decades behind in thinking. The world has moved on and because we know so much more about these animals and what their needs are and risk we have rules about what people can have as pets and the training one needs to manage these animals safely. In america the rules are very poor putting animals at risk of abuse and suffering and people at risk of being injured very badly or killed.
I thought that was excellent and extremely interesting (beating expectations!). I liked the editing and balance of the piece. I did wonder slightly about the alternative life for these animals. It gave a number of points to think about. I was not so sure about the Serval in the lap....
Really like the video, exotic animals but very endearing
The servals were a particular favourite...
