I was telling myself something similar last night when I was doing a diamond painting (my first time trying them), I realised it's taken me a couple of weeks to get about half way through it and then had a sudden urge to start rushing to get it finished, then I was like "no, this is supposed to be relaxing and enjoyable, keep taking your time, who cares if you're going slow?"

This was a random video in my feed. But so apt for the journey I'm taking on. So happy that you guys talked about children's book illustration and the tips and stages are very much appreciated.❤❤thank you😇

I am brand new at any kind of art. About a year ago I picked up embroidery, which I love very much. I just don’t have much time for. Then I found oil pastel painting. And I have quite a knack for it. I absolutely love it, and I never was much of an artist. But I am now.😊

I used to love drawing as a kid but my skills were not supported by my family because we leave in a third world country. After 23 years, I have decided to rediscover those skills. Just baby steps, I feel like a kid starting to draw. I cant't even make an apple look like an apple. After a month practice, its all coming back. Still not perfect though.

Crazy how much this says if you pay attention. Might be projecting. But did ya notice as he went on, the pigment lessens. Kind of like pain/trauma. As time goes on, as you keep painting. It fades and fades. Until theres almost nothing left. Or this could just be asmr. That sound is tasty and healing in itself.
