How Asa Vermette & Frameworks Racing Became a Downhill World Cup Winning Team
That was painful
Sorry to hear that
Great to listen to the misspentsummers guys, I've just received my supporters pack and it's great to see my name in each book along with other supporters. As an amateur photographer I love the work of the guys that are part of the fabric of mountain bike racing. Regarding the changes, I think they are mainly positive, no semis, an lcq, no protected riders and number for life, but the DH schedule really hasn't been thought through.
Also still photography captured a split second in time, which the human eye and video miss.
Thank you! Especially for buying the supporter pack.
Great to see the super supporters here too! Thanks for watching.
But whos going to fund these extra continental series if the funding is already tight in the main series. The elite riders and teams are going to more expensive to fund so will require bigger budgets. The UCI and Wanner Brothers have decreased their income due to drastically reducing the number of riders they charge to race. Where is the extra money going to come from when the current race promoter has actually decreased the TV audiences with there confusing access to race coverage and exposure for the sponsors.
Have you had access to WBD audience size for the broadcast compared to Red Bull TV? I’ve not been able to find that.
Thanks Chris for inviting us onto the podcast again.
Thank you for having us back on the show! And thanks to anyone tuning in :)
I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts about the 2025 changes, drop them in the comments below.
Great interview and such a cool and chilled person :)
Really glad you enjoyed it
Nice talk!
Glad you enjoyed it
This will be so epic!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@downtimepodcastVero is such a legend! Man so good episode 🤙🏼
Sian really is a beauty inside and out.
Where's he headed?!?
Good question, the Vital forum seems to suggest TFR?
Definitely same Minnaar and Dane Jewett having an interesting conversation at US Open, makes sense 2x Canadian Open winner
*saw
@@johnlinvill8819 interesting!
Listened to this on Spotify, great episode. MTB’s Daniel (Danielle) Ricciardo.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Locky is a fast grafter and very resilient ❤
Great to see him on top form!
Such a great Rider. His runs on the edge this year were something to behold
They sure were!
Such an exciting rider, big fan ! Cool hearing about how Loic hyped him up
He's great to watch isn't he! Also totally agree, nice to hear stories of riders at the top of our sport being so kind and welcoming.
More travel does not mean faster, so many people get this wrong. I have a stumpy 140mm and a epic 8 120mm and have a 4+ minute fast downhill at my local trails with a few tight corners and switchbacks my stumpy cant even get close to the epic on a almost 5 minute downhill that's crazy! Bikes have changed with these new geos.
Giving a voice to all corners of MTB racing - loving this content! 💯
Thanks Tim, that's the plan!
I didn’t really knew Sian. Looking forward to follow her next year! Yup, great personality is WAY better than a podium. Really.
Such a wicked season and bloody nice guy. 2025 what will it bring?
Can't wait to find out!
The man.
Ain't gonna argue!
I've never raced but I've had some big injuries/rehabs over the years and Sian seems to have her head well screwed on in that respect. Also, if you're going to ferry your talent half way across the world for Winter testing then Australia would be a good place to go, at least two team members would be relatively local already... (I don't imagine Winter testing in the Northern hemisphere would be as useful)
Jordi explains everything easy to understand when it comes to suspension setup
Well done ,you seem positive enough already, the secret is knowing what you are saying!
Can’t wait to see him back on the WCtrack!!
Love the interview. awesome insights and tips from Sian
Some serious wisdom there!
Do it Lad! Your a legend! Bruni will have your back!
Great interview! Awesome story Sian!!
Thanks so much!
We want you back ratboy..don't let it go: from a fans perspective...😅😅
Ratboy #1. I recommend watching the older syndicate series with him.
What a great chat! Really well curated. So good to see Josh so relaxed and happy with his lot and hear about his forthcoming plans. He thinks Peaty is a Don (I agree) but I think he is not far off being a Don himself!
Be great to see him on the track walk being interviewed by Wyn Masters, then do a Ronan Dunne impression 🤔😂😂
Basically the same story for anyone who has worked, undervalued and working for c$%t bosses
Brilliant interview Chris 👏 having met Josh several times, he is exactly how he come across. Soo down to earth, genuine and honest. I was at the open day he mentioned and I can wholeheartedly say his tracks are a lot of fun to ride and to watch how stoked others get. I for one cannot wait to see him get back between the tapes 🤞 of some DH races 🤘❤️🌈🕊️🌍
So short sighted and immature of Santa Cruz to treat you that way, imo your work with 50to01 has been so much more influential and refreshing than any racing you could've done
With how the WC is structured, I can’t see him landing a rare team slot….its sadly a different era beginning
With how the WCDH is structured, I can’t see him landing a rare team slot….its sadly a different era beginning
Class watch… the 🐐
Yessss Bryceland!! Time to take out the French ;)
Josh just has the most affable nature. Great conversation.
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks.
@@downtimepodcast Really appreciate how honestly he spoke as well. Total legend!
a little too late. wasted career...
Never too late for me to get to watch Josh ride bikes 🙌
@@downtimepodcast I know how he ride bikes but you can't jump to World Cup after so many years and expecting good results.
@Dryb1as Exactly. He made his choices at the peak of his racing career , given the position and opportunity he had at that point , they were really bad choices and it doesn't surprise me that those that invested so much time in him were pissed off. I'll leave it at that.
What a wank perspective. He's a human with free will and intrinsic value, not merely a resource to be exploited for gains. Investments do not guarantee returns, nor a controlling share of a humans life. Whoever's pissed off for someone else making their own decisions in life is a little bitch baby. "Oh, the poor corporate interests!" @@Tony_P
Oh no! What a shame! If only he consulted ultimate expert Dryb1as first, he could have his life on track now instead of making a living riding bikes with his mates and having a huge brand behind him... 🤣
It would be great to see ratboy back at a wc but times have moved on massively. So many so called big hitters can't even qualify . The best of luck whatever you decide
From talking to Josh, I don’t think he expects to just rock up and win, but he definitely sees that it could be fun and interesting for him, which is cool. I’d love to see him back on those tracks, just love to watch the way he rides a bike.
Ratboy Returns?!??!?!?! NO WAYYYYY! BUT YES, PLEASE!!!!!!!
My fingers are very much crossed
@@downtimepodcast I bet the US OPEN would LOVE to have Josh in town next year!
@@tbell1979 that's a really good call
Thanks for the very interesting podcast!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I understand sag, and maybe rebound a little bit, but beyond that suspension is a black box to me.
Great interview Chris.... Josh is a legend we can all learn from him!
Thanks, he's a smart man for sure.
Listened to this on the way to mx yesterday, wanted it to go on longer ❤. Absolutely loved it, for a guy known for being incoherent, Josh is so intelligent, and articulate 😂! Got to ride with Josh once at a Burgtec day in Macc Forest, hes such a good sort 👌. It really surprised me how he genuinely loved to see people enjoying riding, no matter what level. A rare breed indeed and a super interesting podcast, excellent work and you're a brilliant presenter, subscribed!
Thanks mate good to have you onboard!
Everyone wants to see it Josh! Would be awesome to see your journey back to a World Cup race 👍🤘
Ha I crippled myself on the bolly enduro, it's put me out for the rest of the year. Top team though.
great effin Interview. and I understood every word josh said! can definitely relate to a lot of things, like the psychedelic experiences, caring about the environment, self worth, fatherhood. keep on keeping on josh, glad you're sharing it for us mere mortals on a bike.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome interview. Chris you are the man to be asking the questions
I appreciate that!
