    Media companies are driven by ratings, not the passion. The spectacle of DH resonates as a marketable product. As a governing body UCI should be focussed on participation. How many DH bikes have been sold versus trail and enduro bikes. How many people race the formats at all levels… You can’t even easily find the EDR- Enduro listed as a format listed on their website let alone the race schedule. No consideration of time zones, and making live streamed content available in a timely fashion. Thank you Chazmaz Tv for all your energy and dedication to the sport.

    The problem with Specialized mtbs is Santa Cruz. They are equal in so many ways that the SC frames being slightly cheaper (CC vs S Works) and the free bearings for life vs £100 a year, that adds up to a big difference for someone who changes frame bearings 1-2 times a year. Also, buying a high end factory bike, Reserve rims are lifetime no questions asked on alloy and carbon rims and SC are so so good with warranty. I get rims in a day or so after a claim. Currently have a 2018 Enduro Ohlins coil with a reserve alloy on CH on the rear after trashing the Roval carbon with no warranty. I will probably move over to SC and ride a Hightower in the next few years, unless the enduro frame cracks and I get a warranty on it.

    This tip also applies to analogue bikes. Switching from a 32 tooth to a 30 tooth chainring has been one of the best changes I've made this past year. My local rides start with a really steep climb every time and I just got sick and tired of red-lining every time. I'm convinced that 98% of consumers would be better off with a smaller chainring. I rarely use my smallest cog --if ever--whether I'm running 32T or 30T even during enduro races.

    I'm STROOONGLY opiniated that this is mainly UCI's fault. They push Road racing and XC A LOOOOOT more than they do Enduro. UCI is just lazy and greedy. They could give rights to several people for less money and let for example Redbull broadcast it. The problem is not just in teams, keeping hush just so they can keep the jobs, that to me is a hostage situation more than a sport. UCI needs to lose title of the world series, we need to find a way, to make new series I hope RedBull Hardline is one of them and slowly introduce own World Cup level of track in next 5-10 years. Teams are already paying the entry, why not to somebody else than greedy UCI.

    It’s the European enduro series. Not a World Series. And the coverage has been dog shit.

    • @FireLysm
      @FireLysm 4 дня назад

      It's in Europe for a reason, imagine flying around the world all the time, teams barely make it with money that they have in EU ground. Imagine flying with all the gear from England > Austria > Portugal > New Zeland > USA. Just those two last trips burned half of the budged that they would spend if staying in EU for another 10 races... This is not F1 where they toss around billions.

    Love Charlie and Jack's coverage of enduro. It is more relatable to avg mtb'ers. I could actually seeing myself riding a stage and not injuring myself :) There are lots of things you could do, if funds and support available, to make the coverage more inclusive and draw the viewer in. So us mortals are most likely faster on a enduro than on stumpy evo just because the fatigue is lower on enduro. I had a 2016 stumpy (loved it) and now I have a 2020 Enduro (absolutely love it). I can definitely see how the stumpy can be faster on non-gnarly trails. For me I wanted a bike that could do it all. I can’t imagine taking the stumpy to a bike park, even though I’m sure it would do just fine with the type of stuff I’m hitting. The Enduro can be too much bike on flow/cross country trails, but it’s still such an awesome bike.

      I've not ridden the 2016 stumpy, but I think the Stumpy Evo/Stumpy 15 are different machines and lean more towards the enduro category. However, Jared Graves also raced the Stumpy at the EWS in 2017, so Charlie is not the first one in the specialized pits to do so.

  • @PawnSacrifice

    Great insights and loving the positivity - to one of Charlie's later points, I think too much negativity comes from, I believe, it being to easy to get clicks and likes for being anti-WB-establishment. It does feel like there's been an investment in the racing and if E-EDR is dropped next year the post race WB content will be out a lot quicker after the race, this year it just took too long. That's not to say ChazMazTV can slack off! They cop a lot of flack, but love that Specialized back his channel and him giving time and exposure to other teams' riders. I like to support riders with the likes and comments, ironically I have been having problems with Instagram deleting comments, especially where I try and tag a sponsor in a rider's post as Instagram says I'm trying to attract followers! Unlike the millionaire that's on every post wondering what to do with his money.
