If it's such a good idea with overwhelming support from the people of Texas why don't they try to secede. Talk's cheap. That's why many Texas politicians talk about seceding so much. Why don't they try seceding? They just might be a bunch of loud mouth weemies. Them and their supporters.

The ports are Federal...the military and police equipment and gear is Federal.....40% of the infrastructure was paid for by Federal money.....that means this Tennessean help pay for it....Texas wouldn't be able to just have it....that would be an act of high treason.

Also half of New Mexico, Colorado and part of Wyoming are part of Texas and taken from us when joining the Union.

OK, I made it about halfway through this. It comes across like it was written by an AI that was asked "What if Texas was an independent country?," without being told that the people who make decisions there would be Texans. When it started talking about the government of independent Texas being concerned about global warming, I gave up less than halfway in (at 5:28). It might be interesting to hear what would happen if voters in Texas were not participating in USA elections or courts in the Eastern district of Texas were not participating in the USA legal system, and maybe the rest the video mentions that, but I lost my willingness to suspend disbelief and keep listening.

Interesting thought experiment. But try this one.... California becomes an independent state. Texas GDP though large, is 60% smaller than California's. (2.4T vs 3.9T) The Federal tax contribution from California is huge. Texas gets back approx 95 cents for every $1 it pays to the Feds, Ca. only about 77 cents. The USA can afford to lose Texas to independents, after all their chief export would be oil which is priced by the international market, but losing California would be a total disaster. Heck, California's UC system alone has 6 medical schools and more engineering schools than the Ivy League.
