Was this torn down?
Unfortunately yes.
Too bad stumbled upon it a couple of years ago finally found the name of the place and went back yesterday and it was gone.
@@ryanamber3071 yep.. it is too bad. I went there and shot some drone vids soon after I heard it was going to be tore down. Grew up just down the road with lots of good memories of riding our bikes down to visit the old guys working there in the 70's.
Scott, whoever that was has gigantic brass balls..lmfaooo
Lol right?! There's a handful of these guys still around. Wish I would have had the camera I own today.. Could have got a shot of the bb gun he'll use to shoot out balloons for decent. 🤔😂

Oh my gosh! You poor thing. I'm not laughing. I'm not laughing. Uh-oh, I'm trying not to laugh. It's certainly not funny at the time. I have been scared that much in the past but for a different reason. Let's just say it's it shook me up, too. But seriously, have you encountered any more since, and were you flying? I couldn't tell, because I'm blind, so I can't assume that you were or if you were out on the water. I used to fly a lot, and I miss it, because I don't get to travel anymore. I've also gone deep-sea fishing, and I hit my nose on the flywheel very hard. Fortunately, my dad says I didn't break it, but I got pretty sick. That's been 46 years ago, and I don't remember much what all happened. As for the video, I had to play it back a couple of times, because the music, followed by the needle running across the record sound made me thing: "Hmmm. Just a lovely day out. Just an ordinary trip when suddenly..." I thought you were just screaming in fear, because I heard it from a distance. So I played it back again, and that's when I got the "picture". Nobody had to describe it to me at all. Who's idea was it to film that anyway? It's a pretty bad gag now, isn't it? Heather
lawn chair with balloons! not a ufo
Thanks Doug! It was a sight to see!
Wow that sure fooled me. I was going to send it to all my PPC buddies and say look at this PPC blowing up. Ha ha Thanks for the video Tom
Hi Tom, That is just a cheap video effect.. My buddy had just installed his smoke machine and I was just messn' with him! Thanks for watching!
Hi, what is all that fire in the PPC before it takes off??
good catch. Could happen to anyone at some point.
He needs some privacy so he could smoke a doobie
Kinda takes getting high to a whole new level though
Think of it as a car wash for PPC's. It's easier to digest that way, hehe. Great video :)
Actually it was 3 towels, 1 air compressor and an industrial sized fan to dry out the chute. Yep... worth every second! Thanks for watching!
nice landing, stayed calm and good choice near the road, too far out to turn back and I have always been told to never turn back, more so for airplanes than PPC. been there before..
No warning... Thorough preflight and warmup. Will drain sediment bowl more often from now on. Was over a month since last flight. Checked all fuel lines and may install a positive vent on fuel tank. Almost 2 hrs flight time since incident with no problems. Allin did a good job of making it back safely!
Glad you're OK, Captain. That was quite a spooky experience even for me! Thanks for sharing it. Nice recovery and landing. Lemme guess, no indication of trouble on the pre-flight engine warm up at all?
Looks like one back wheel is loose on that blue plane...
Who needs good spark plugs with the proper gap anyways???? Or fuel in the gas tank?? I'm talking to you "BEANS"
Great video..Jack is becoming a professional camerman..your Converse, could wirte a book, about your adventures! Have fun..be safe..and enjoy life!! Love you, Mom
nice thats my dad
Nice Scott!!
@MyVisualRomance Usually look things over pretty good during preflight. Even thought that looked wrong but my lines were seperatated as I thought they should have been and thought I was over thinking it. Should have never launched on this one but at least learned a valuable lesson.
Ugh, the old line twister. Smart move. Just shut her down and reset. It's why we check our lines before full throttle. LOC. Thanks for sharing this "What TO DO" vid. I see so many "What NOT to do" ones out there. Happy safe flying!
