DIY Bike Pants on the Cheap- Biking Hack
Hey Bikers, change of pace today. The weather has changed and I need pants out on the trails. Between the cold and the mud my shorts just won't do. Here's a quick hack for making any pant practical for riding.

5 Things I want in a Mud Bike- What would you want?

Hi y'all, the winter here in north Texas is a wet, muddy mess. I want to keep riding wild places but I don't really want to put the wear and tear on my main ride. Here are some things I want in a new build. What would you add???

Stay to the left LoL
Nice ride. I’ll have to give it a try.
@@Jeffco-is5pf it's a beauty!
Ofc
As a kid it was a great place to hang out, nowadays the area has really gotten bad, as a kid we could swim below the spillway but they stopped that about 25 years ago and put up fencing and no swimming signs
Thanks for the vid! These trails are super important. Keeps riders and hikers safe. Also, not sucking in exhaust fumes from vehicles driving by. We need more of these trails. Thank you for your time to get people aware!
@@trek-s7k thanks! Can't wait to go again!
Love this trail. Rode part of it 3 weeks ago in Denton Kiwanis Turkey Roll.
@@Jeffco-is5pf it's a beauty! Was the entire trail open?
The route included the portion from the dam to 428. I last rode the section from 428 to 380 in summer of 2023.

Peanut butter with the rain we’ve had. What kind of gloves are you wearing.
@@Jeffco-is5pf the brand is Harbinger. They're actually weight lifting gloves. They have good padding and I like the finger access
Nice. Enjoying the videos
Thanks! Let me know if there's something else you'd like to see
Looks like you got to do a nice ride. I lived in the Dallas area many years ago and i can tell you that during heavy rainy seasons that the Trinity river would most likely get up over some of the areas you were in. Also when that black dirt gets wet it is like glue.
@@tedwalker1370 it's incredible how high that river can get. It seems like even in lighter rain events those areas would flood. Lots of potential for outdoor activities though
The scenery is more nice over there compared to the trinity trials in fort worth
@@dandydan9281 I haven't had a chance to ride those yet but look forward to it

Another great trail system. Many copperhead encounters there. The most snakes of any trails in the DFW area.
cool video bro bro. This is where it all started for me in 2010 on my mountain bike journey. In 2015 I started my RUclips channel. Squabble creek will always be a special place to me. Keep uploading!

Great video! The areas the singletrack were in were amazing. Especially the second trail. Where are these? I’m new to the area and on the hunt for cool trails like this. Thanks!
@@nickchavez5564 thanks man! Welcome to the area! Where are you? Maybe I can point you in the right direction
Copperhead
rode this yesterday and it was dry and mostly pretty rideable, but also it was deceptively technical. lots of loose gravel and giant holes and picking a clean line can be tough especially on this leg of the NETT. I'd recommend newer gravel riders take the route between farmersville and celeste or skip up to paris and ride from there to clarksville
@@BendySendy thanks for the update!
I cross that trail quite a bit. Always wondered what it was like.

Thanks for sharing. I just did the route from Farmersville to Celeste yesterday! I was thinking about going to Wolfe City but glad I didn't on my gravel bike. Looks like my XC bike may be called out for the next trip!
@@averagetexasmtber how were the spider webs? I want to get back out once the weather cools down
@@whileridingspiderwebs were really bad between celeste and wolf city. i think i ate 2-3 spiders lol
this would be really fun on an xc bike. I did it on my gravel bike and wished for something with a bit more suspension
Relaxing nice spot man
Pretty rough compared to other rails to trails. And there’s people out there who would prefer it this way. Still a fun experience.
@@bombero3368 I'm looking forward to the sections around Paris but what I've seen so far isn't much of a trail at all...
I plan to ride next weekend. Do you recommend taking trail in that condition or take road?
@@Jeffco-is5pf What kind of bike? Which sections are you planning? I like exploring so I'd usually pick the trail over the roads. Also, there are some areas closed so check out the website too...
@@whileriding Meant to say right off, I enjoyed the video. First day planning Farmersville to Ladonia. This last section looks very overgrown. Second day planning Paris to Clarksville.
Riding an MTB
@@Jeffco-is5pf The mountain bike will definitely be helpful. The overgrown portions will slow you down but with the MTN bike you should be good. It's really the sections between Celeste and Ladonia that were the slowest. I was in a bit of a hurry so it was frustrating. Hopefully the spider webs have mellowed out. Those were the worst. Overall, I still enjoyed it and look forward to doing the next sections soon!
@@Jeffco-is5pf Let me know how the ride goes!
A and Mnmwnnn?.
All that money put into a biking and hiking trail and people with quads and 4x4’s tear it up. It happened in Louisiana too. Oklahoma, where I live, would be no different. It’s frustrating
@@orangevw36 in this case I think the lack of upkeep makes all that worse
Hey to it buddy let's goooo
Check for any zip ties on the wheels or on the frame near the wheels ( also look for other stuff not just zip ties)
@@GoofyAhProd seems like it's coming from the crankset but I can't replicate sound unless I'm riding the bike
No, I'm not a snake guy but I'm guessing it would be a cottonmouth, especially if you're in South in between Florida and Virginia
