2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Fuel Filter Removal and Replacement
Removal and replacement of the fuel filter on a 2001-2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I decided to make this video part way through changing my fuel filter because I struggled with removing it and it was supposed to be simple. Sorry that it's a bit chopped up. There isn't really a video that I could find with this exact setup. Closest was one off of a Ford Ranger in this year range I think. Anyway, I hope that this can help at least 1 person. Feel free to comment questions.
Stuff a few paper towels or rags under the filter before you diconnect the lines, it'll help manage the splashing.
Tools Needed:
- Bare Hands
- 5/16 fuel line disconnect tool

My truck keeps throwing a cel whenever im under half a tank
What’s the fuel filter part code? Thanks
Good tutorial, btw.
Question: will pulling the fuse while the truck is running throw a code? I have code P0231 - Low Voltage Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Low. IDK if I should clear this code with my scanner....
@@robtorres it shouldn’t throw a code. It will simply remove power from the pump, which will allow the fuel pressure to deplete. Try clearing the code and see if it comes back.
