This is a documentation of a "Lab Performance”, which took place as part of the international conference "Ma Explained, Experienced, Expressed," organized by Professor Beng Choo Lim and the Department of Japanese Studies with support from the Japan Foundation. Led by Professor Jarosław Kapuściński from Stanford University, this event brought together a team of performers from Japan, Poland/USA, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand, who also participated in the conference.
The performance focused on the aesthetic concept of “Ma," highlighting the power of silence, stillness, and meaningful emptiness. The evening unfolded in four sections:
