I was born in 1957 and I grow up in coventry rhode island and yes my family owned kids Blair show boat and my uncle normen Blair would take me to Rocky point park for my birthday ever year and yes I miss Rocky point park.

I grew up in Oakland Beach back in the fifties. My brother and I went quahogging every day during the summer. We used either a rake or just our feet and we had an inner tube with a basket. This way we could swim across the channel and quahog in Buttonwoods cove. We sold them to the fish market at the end of Sea View drive. Back then the price was 3 cents a pound for quahogs and 16 cents a pound for cherry stones or as we called them little necks. When I visit Iggy's in Oakland Beach 2 or 3 times a year I always take a short walk to the spot were we swam across the channel. We were quite brave then I wouldn't do it now. Life was simple back then we were all poor and neighbors helped each other. Oakland Beach has not changed much since the days of my youth. I feel blessed to have grown up there. Narragansett Bay is truly a very wonderful place to visit and enjoy the beautiful views of the Jamestown bridge and on a clear day the Newport bridge.

I have a desk Job (Engineer) and i am really fed up of my unhealthy lifestyle and honestly concerned that i am heading for a heart attack. I am looking for a different Job just like yours where you get your exercise for free and breath Fresh Air all day !!! And get to be in Beautiful Nature all day !!! Sure the money aint huge but who cares ! When i get a heart attack I will just end up giving all my saving to the Hospital anyways !!! So Sincerely RIMontly thank you for Posting this video !! I remember Cathy from Las Vegas. I moved here in 1990 and remember when she was first hired on with KTNV. She quickly became a warm and friendly fixture in the valley. She did very well in her anchor position here and was a very authentic, professional and charismatic person who seemed to really care about people. I am so happy to see her friendly smile again after all of these years and I am happy to see such a rich and rewarding path that she has carved out for herself Thanks for all of the wonderful stories and we will forever miss you in the Vegas Valley! 😀
