Covidence
Добавлен 30 окт 2013
Covidence improves healthcare evidence synthesis by improving the efficiency and experience of creating and maintaining Systematic Reviews.
We have streamlined the processes of citation screening, full text review, risk of bias and data extraction and enabled export to RevMan, all in an online collaborative environment.
This means authors can save time on repetitive review tasks, enabling faster review production and more time for analysis and interpretation.

i have a question, when imoporting for screening which will later on go to full text. Do i from the get go upload the RIS file as screen or is it gonna be full text?
Thanks for your question! The initial import of references into Covidence must be in RIS, EndNote XML, or PubMed format. You'll find the following Knowledge Base articles helpful: support.covidence.org/help/how-references-move-through-a-review support.covidence.org/help/study-imports - Stephanie
How do you use quality Improvement template

Hello! I just watched the video 'Step 1: Setting up your review' that was posted 9 months ago. Are there any particular aspects that this video covers that has not already been mentioned in the other video? Is it necessary to watch this video as well? Thanks in advance for your help!
We are always updating our platform to better serve our users! That being said, most of the content is the same in the older Step 1 video. - Stephanie
I've been struggling with data extraction and didn't realise that there was a extraction 2 template. You've just solved my problem :)
Glad you found this training helpful! - Stephanie
Are there any resources about using Covidence for a Mixed Methods Systematic Review, where multiple data extraction and quality assessment templates might be required?
Thank you for your question! We have some guidance on our Knowledge Base for this linked below: support.covidence.org/help/faq-is-it-possible-to-use-multiple-extraction-templates-in-one-review-in-extraction-2 support.covidence.org/help/faq-is-it-possible-to-use-multiple-quality-assessment-tools-in-one-review-in-extraction-2
Thanks for your brief and to-the-point introductory video!
Glad it was helpful!
screen is blurry. You should zoom in during the demo. Otherwise the content it's clear.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, we appreciate it! - Laura

Great presentation. How do I know which type of extraction form I am developing? I would like to create an Extraction 2 form, however, on the extraction tab, there's no option that indicates create Extraction 1 or Extraction 2. Thanks in advance.
Thank you @troyroy01! Under the settings section of your review, you have the option to choose between Extraction 1 and Extraction 2. You can always send us a message to support@covidence.org.- Nancy
Nice tool, but how should you use it in the broader sense of the systematic literature search? Does it replace the Cochrane RCT search filter we currently use in reviews looking at RCTs in the searches? Or is it an extra layer removing non-RCT studies that wasn't removed in the searches? Would a future Cochrane Review looking for RCTs skip the search filter when searching the databases and rely solely on this automated process?
Thanks for your question! This does not replace the Cochrane RCT search filter. We'd recommend using this tool in addition to the search filter to identify records that the filter might have missed. - Laura
@@covidenceapp thank you. Makes sense, but interesting if it really removes that many more studies not removed in the search.
Hi Covidence. Great presentation. If you make annotations in Mendeley Reference Manager, and then import to Covidence, does the attached document present as the original pdf or will it present as your annotated version?
Hi @traviskingdon3636 thanks for your question. The PDF in Covidence will not contain the annotations you added to it Mendeley. - Laura
Thank you so much to this video. It was a very good explanation! How to work in more than 1 pair to screen articles? I have a large number of articles to select and I would like to distribute the articles among 6 researchers, how do I divide the articles?
Hi @OsmaraAlvesdosSantos, Thanks for your question. Regarding assigning references, we get this question a lot! Covidence doesn't encourage specific dividing of records in order to minimise bias in voting patterns. You can tell each of your reviewers to track their overall contribution from the Settings >> Team settings page, and to 'aim' for a particular number of votes contributed. You'll still end up dividing the work fairly evenly, but this minimizes the risk that one segment will receive an overall different assessment than another segment. In Covidence you have all of your reviewers working off of the same list. In dual reviewer mode, the reference will be moved forward with any two votes. Once a reference is moved forward, it is moved off of everyone's screening list. Thus, as long as everyone contributes the requisite number of votes, all of your records will be voted on, even without dividing the reference list into segments. Happy reviewing!
Thank you to respond my question@@covidenceapp.
Thank you! Very helpful.
An excellent update. Thanks!
Hello, I'm having trouble with extraction. There are different file types as options for exporting extracted data. Are there character restrictions for what text I can include in the text boxes? For example, if I use a comma, will it interfere with the data when it's exported (CSV file). If I press enter in a text box, would it make that a new row/column/cell? I'm trying to figure it out, but am finding no info so far.
Hello, There are no restrictions on the number of characters in the text field. What you type inside the text field doesn't impact the cells or columns format. You can always play around with the demo review (which can be found at the bottom of your Covidence dashboard) to test how the output will look. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions support@covidence.org. - Nancy
Thank you very much. Your explanation is magnificent. Very clear work.
Make the music stop!
I have a question, is it also recommended to document the piloting process? As i haven't come across a systematic review that documented their piloting process.
Amazing webinar. Thank you so much :)
maximum number that can be uploaded is 10,000. How can I manage if I have more (from various search engines)
