I remember years ago in the 60s and 70s traveling by car. We would kind of pump our arms at truckers so they would blow their horns. They always did. They really are the best.

My birthday is 4 of July too and my younger brother birthday (he is 6 or 7 years younger than me)

Always great to hear Jerry again. He and my father grew up together. When my dad passed, Jerry came to the funeral and played and sang Amazing Grace. It was awesome hearing him tell tales of the kinds of things he and my dad got up to when they were younger.

My daughter had a swim meet and we heard on the radio. My husband didn’t believe me so when I got home I showed him. I had tons of messages because people knew I was a big fan and I cried at work that night and asked to be put in the back because I couldn’t stand the pity

Sunday February 18,2001 I watched the Race at the TA truck stop in Brunswick Georgia I was on my way to Miami for Monday morning but didn’t leave out until 5am, I wanted to see the sunrise at the Track. As I was driving south looking over at the track, here came the #8 &#3 hauler’s getting on the northbound side heading home. One time I wish I had my camera in hand…. That Thursday I would be up in Greensboro North Carolina coming back to Atlanta. Stopped off outside charlotte to call in all the flags were half staff. I happen to be in the same area on 9/11 went I found out what happened at 9pm that night. Saturday September 15,2001 I’m on my way to the Pentagon with the office furniture for the temporary set up offices. Thinking about where I’m from (NYC) and keeping America Rolling like Dale would have done!!! I started liking Dale after the Daytona Flip in 97, he never gave up just like me…
