What a very beautiful trail. Love how they still have parts of the old rail tracks still there. 😊
Fantastic ride guys. What do you do to manage punctures? Do you recommend that goop?
We both run tubeless tyres and have never had an issue with a flat tyre. So we highly recommend using goop. It does need topping up every few months as it over time does dry out. But that is worth it for the peace and mind of no flats!!
@@TrailTrax Thanks - I hadn't heard about topping it up. I'm glad I now have a procedure to manage my tyres! Thank you.
Nicely presented and neat rail trail. Looks a pleasure to ride. Sometimes quality is better than quantity.
Thank you. This was another excellently produced video.
Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the informative video. It is well shot and well edited, and it offers a good description for people contemplating making the journey. I showed it to my wife and she straightaway said, "Let's do it."
Thanks for the feedback. We really enjoyed the ride and capturing for this video. Glad you found it helpful.
Well done. It is a wonderful ride. My friend and I just got back today from riding it up & back. Copped the same magpies both days & was very hot. Small price to pay for a good ride. The path has improved so much this time from when we rode it earlier in the year. So much less bumpy. They have done a great job.
Sounds like improvements are being made all the time.
Forget the Magpie streamers which don't work. You need more large cable ties tied over your helmet to form a platform of bird spikes!
Nice production guys. Good balance of info & scenery…. Many thanks..
Thank you for your video. I hope to get there to do that trail in the cooler months.
Thanks for the feedback. We would be keen to ride it again sometime.
What a great little video, really showcased the trail and we are so looking forward to doing it soon 🚴🚴♂
great video..thanks for sharing..isnt it Cathkin to Alexandra?
Yes you are correct. Thanks for letting me know - typo!
Lovely journey. Thanks for taking us along.
A great video from Graham and Michelle on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. This would be very interesting and useful to watch for anyone looking to ride the BVRT. It was a pleasure to meet you both and have you stay with us at Montrose on Moore B&B - and thanks for the shout out at 7.24 in the video! Kind regards, Peter
@@PeterLightbody-e1i thanks Peter, we are so pleased that we chose to stay in your lovely accommodation
Nice video , well presented. I like the graphics showing where you have been. I am aiming to do next year in preparation for an organised ride - The Mawson Trail. Take a look - an organised ride in SA May next year organised by Cycle SA.
Great video guys !! I think I said Gday to you yesterday on the trail 😄
Good to see you're back...started to worry you weren't coming back!
More videos coming in the next few weeks!
Fantastic.
Really enjoyed your video. I appreciated all the tips and information you provided. This has been especially helpful as we will be doing the trail both ways in October. Thanks so much!
Thanks Fiona, I'm glad you found it helpful. Enjoy your ride.
What bikes are you riding ?
Canyon Spectral's
Before it became a rail trail you could drive your car through Cheviot tunnel as it was a public road.
Right now they are building a toilet block and car park at Longlea.
There is a stop between Axedale and Bendigo that has a water fountain and i think a repair stand.
Thanks for the great RUclips of one of my favourite local rides. Refreshing to see it from an outsiders view. A few comments from a locals view are: An easy gradient because trains don’t like steep hills! The wooden planked bridge at 10:41 should not be taken too fast as the planks are quite uneven and warped and will rattle the fillings out of your teeth. The Kiewa River is pronounced by us locals as “Kee war” and the track on the Wodonga side of it can be a bit rough due to flooding occasionally in the winter. Overall though the unsealed few kilometres of the track are good, fast, fine gravel and buckshot. In my personal opinion the sealing of a lot of the track that they did in 2023 (I think) homogenised it somewhat and took away some of its character. If you travel this trail in spring you have to be aware of the Kamikaze magpie about 1.5km from the Sandy Creek bridge. He is a real nuisance. I have had several helmet strikes and so now I pick up a stick to wave on my way past. Shame you were not able to spare the time and ride the extra 10km up to Tallangatta for a coffee cake at the bakery. Thanks again. Really enjoyed the experience without any effort on my part!
Thanks for the feedback and back round information. Another time I road this trail I did meet the magpie that you referred to! Next time we would love to get to Tallangatta or even further.
Good video, although Heathcote is pronounced like "heath-kt" not "heath-coat"
Thanks for the info!
I've only just found your channels and you videos are really interesting as I live in Albury but haven't yet had the opportunity to ride these trails but you can bet i will. Thanks for your videos of this area.......oh yeah the Fernleigh track was a favourite from Belmont to Adamstown, I done that ride often when living in Newcastle.
Thanks for the feedback David. There are so many great rail trails out there to explore. Happy riding
Bonegilla has a huge amount of history for such a small station. All those post ww2 migrants, in victoria, were sent there initially. Taken from ships at Station Pier in Mebourne and transported to a form of incarceration towards lake Hume until vacancies opened up for them in the workforce. A LOT of traffic for a wayside station. Another point that you may not know is that once the railway was closed all the girders from the Sandy Creek bridge were removed and it was a dangerous 10 km detour on the highway to get around. After a long battle the bridge was finally restored. Making the trip from Huon to New Tallangatta a safe and pleasant experience. (Except for the black snakes which love to sun themselves on the bitumen).
Enjoying your vids, keep going! looking forward to some more.
Thanks @colmherbie8261 , we hope to have some more videos up before too long. I hope that you have had a chance to check out our other videos on our channel.
Thanks for this. I've done a few good rides you might like around Newcastle. Swansea carravan park to the end of Newcastle breakwater on the Hunter River via Fernleigh can be almost exclusively done on bike paths. Through Adamstown to the coast is the only on road bit, but they're back streets. Very scenic. Eleebana to Cardiff around the lake and via the tramway track is also excellent. Happy biking. 😊
Sounds great! Thanks for the info
I did that ride last week, fantastic. Thanks for sharing.😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Whitebridge is a good place to get food at the takeaway. We rode Fernleigh yesterday, it's such a great track.
Thanks for your additional information @joseesteban6884 - it is a great ride!
Nice countryside that. Looks like an enjoyable ride. 👍
Yes very enjoyable ride

Well done Guys and thanks for sharing....😊
Thanks Peter
Thanks for sharing your ride, great viewing. How long did the ride take you?
The ride is just a bit over 50kms. Riding time was just over 3 hours, but with stops and lunch break we pretty much dedicated the day to it.
Good video. Great part of the world.
Thanks for the feedback. It is a great place.
Lovely video. When the Creator made North East Victoria, the Blueprint was discarded afterwards.
We're going to Bonnie Doon!
Cool video guys that trail is on my bucket list 👍
Thanks Mick. Well worth doing
What bus company was that took your bikes cool
The bus leaves from Bendigo Train Station. Departs from bus bay 11. It is an McIvor Transit bus but it operates under Public Transport Victoria (PTV).
It really is an awesome trail. We had a great day riding it.
Awesome rail trail. It's a great place to ride. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback @madebymin92. We enjoyed putting it together.
Another great video @trailtrax!
Thanks for your feedback. It is really hard to single out one as a favourite as we have enjoyed each trail for their uniqueness. We are looking forward to bringing you more videos into the future.
Thanks for the videos! What has been your favourite trail in Victoria ?
