The Hobby Graveyard
Добавлен 8 ноя 2013
Hello and welcome to the Hobby Graveyard!
I’m Steffan Jenkins, your host and proprietor and I’m an educator and miniature painter based in the UK.
My work has been featured in many places such as in White Dwarf, Goobertown Roulette and, most notably, in the Squidmar Miniatures Warlord Titan Diorama where I did some freehand on a leg panel. I’ve also done the box art for Aether and Alchemist for the MyMiniFactory page.
I only really started taking painting seriously in 2020 when one sodden afternoon the mysteries of NMM suddenly clicked and I started painting volumetrically and the rest, as they say, is history. To that end, I have a created my Hobby Graveyard, where hobby projects come to die and with a little artistic necromancy, I can breathe new life into them, and I want to bring all of you along for the journey.

Spira Mirabilis Sir Lancerot Episode 1 - NMM
Просмотров 2545 месяцев назад
In this video we'll be starting the lovely new bust from Spira Mirabilis Miniatures but focussing wholly on doing metallic sections on one shoulder pad. Find me on instagram: @hmsfjenkins As you can probably tell, this is the first video I've ever made or edited but I'm trying to get better with each upload.
immediate subscription. very excited to study this.
Thank you for subscribing. I hope you find it useful and a new video will be up as soon as it’s ready. :)
You gained a sub.
Really nice video, I enjoy seeing the in depth dive in your process. It gives me some great insight on how to work on my finish/rendering of certain materials. an aspect of painting that still eludes me to this day.
Incredible work and so many great tips and techinicles that I'll definetily try to apply in other models. Subscribing and hoping you can do more of theses
@@rodrigoribeiro9249 Thank you for the kind words. Another masterclass is in the works and should be out soon.
What is this asmr shite
this is absolutely stellar. Was shocked when I looked at sub count. Amazing work man
I’m glad you like it. I’m still starting off in the RUclips world but I’m hoping the channel will keep growing and I’ll still put out videos even if it doesn’t :)
Lovely tutorial and fantastic paint job!
Thank you for watching. I hope it’s useful for you :)
This is insane! Can't believe you are an unknown channel, subbed!
Thank you. I’m still fairly new to RUclips but hopefully people will enjoy what I’m making.
This video is a godsend for more thorough painting and scheme analysis, very nice. Keep up the good work. liked and subscribed for surree!!!!! I hope the algorithm helps you and more people can see this.
Glad it’s of use :)
Tag!
Awesole content, please keep up the good work :-)
Thank you for the kind words. The next video is in the works.
Thankyou. I sat and watched the video right through when I couldn't sleep thinking it might help me fall asleep but it has the opposite affect, ill now be using it when I start painting my skaventide. I can't wait to see all the other skaventide videos.
Thank you so much for watching. The next video should be out soon :)
This is your niche! I immediately looked to your videos to see if there are more long form paint Masterclasses, and I think this is your first on the channel? If you can do more, I'll certainly be back. Perfect to paint along with!
Thank you so much. I’m planning on doing more in the future as they’re the videos I prefer to watch when I’m painting. Haven’t had the time to do them up to this point or there would be a lot more :)
I find the amount of detail and seeing basically the full process super helpful for learning, so I appreciate the video length! Would love to see gryphstalker next, but looking forward to both! :)
Thanks so much for watching. I’ve got the gryphstalker all primed and ready so the video for that will be out as soon as possible. The Terminos will be coming after that.

Your voice is so great for ASMR narration.
Too kind but thank you all the same. I’m making a few modifications to my audio set up so it should be even better in the next one.
This is amazing, its crazy what you can do with a limited pallette
That armour is lovely
Hmm i would certainly settle for a cat cam :D Thanks for showing this process, ive been considering a background for a cave I made and this explanation makes it a bit more approachable!
If you have a go, tag me on discord so I can see.
exquisite yes yes🙂
Thanks Brent!
Looks ace, will have to give this a go myself!!!
I’ll expect pictures when you do.
Good stuff, end results were fantastic!
Not quite sure it’d work but it might be something to try on your ad mech
Really good tutorial I could imagine this on a panel of a Skaven warlord titan. Looking forward to the goblin part two , I'm super interested to see more of how you map/plan nmm on different surfaces and angles
I'm glad you found it useful and the next part to the goblin will be on the helmet and possibly the knee pad too to get the full range of awkward shapes that often cause problems for painters.
Thank you for taking your time with this! The quick tutorials can give a bit of an unrealistic feel of speed for these techniques. I'll be rewatching when i want to practice proper non metallics!
Glad you found it useful and hopefully the other parts in the series will be too.
Thank you for the explanation! Great work. I'd love to see a shot or two of your pallet to see the paint mixes you are using during the process.
A palette cam is on the works and will feature in future videos once I work out how to do it.
Great tutorial
Thank you so much.
@@TheHobbyGraveyard no genuinely thank you , I can't count the number of little things you did that I will be testing out on my next model.
